The Campaign Trail



I had to finalize my National Goals last night.

I looked at the GDP and it was below 2,500, a growth of 500 would approximate a 20% improvement so that is why I set it at 20%. I see prices falling so this will be a challenge, however, I am confident that the commerce of war and the export program will be kicking the economy up a notch so a GDP of 3,000 is definitely achieveable.

As for population, I committed to adding 500 citizens to eCanada and the population was under 6,000 when I set the target so a 10% increase is in order. Again, this is achievable. There will be at least 12 fights involved in my master plan to end the eFrance war and they will be fights with character, as much character as fights against a wall could be. Stomp-Elysees is going to be an epic campaign to end this war, and territories and battles are going to be used like never before. People will WANT to be involved and it is going to create in-migration. I look forward to achieving this goal.

And yes, I am going to take over a region of eFrance, Pays de la Loire, AND close the war. Don't worry, I can hear the resounding WTF from around the enation. Crazy eh? I find it so difficult not to shout my plan from the mountain tops so that people can see how achievable, yet crazy, it really is. There may be simpler ways to earn a hat-trick, but what honour is there in sandbagging? Role play makes this game fun and I promise eCanada a fun way to end the eFrance war. My Minister of Defence, Muglack, and my eFrance War Negotiation Translator, M. Loiselle, are the two key men on my team that are going to facilitate this victory.

My to-do list to achieve these things:
-behave positively
-build national unity wherever my sphere of influence permits
-recommend a 10% war tax to fund the war effort; and
-staff my cabinet with dynamos and reliable, steady performers.

Questions from yesterday's article

Rigour6: Thank you for your clarification on your tax plan.
An increase of a tax from 11% to 21% represents. as I'm sure you're aware, an almost doubling of the tax rate, and is thus quite a dramatic shift in the economy. And this in furtherance of a fund for a war which is clearly unwinnable. If you could better explain how much you think this increase will raise, how the money will be used, and what effect such a shift will have upon the eCanadian economy, that might provide some helpful reassurance to voters.

Our taxes used to be at 15%, I led the campaign to reduce them to the rates you enjoy now. I am the strongest proponent for lower taxes. War is expensive and that is no joke. I will need to pay for 12 battles. These battles will require guns and tickets and gifts and this is going to create demand in our flagging economy. I am not going to be pushy about it, I will only ask congress to consider it ONCE on the first day of office. I will work within my means after that. It is important to me that I be transparent with you about what I intend to do...

...unless of course you want my specific plan to end the eFrance war.

I am an innovative thinker and I place faith in people. I have a very winnable plan for this war. I have commitments from some large tanks in the eUS and the entire TCO to Stomp-Elysees. My background is in commerce so I would much rather broker a treaty than wipe eFrance off the map. I have a bilingual negotiator with experience in eFrance. I believe that before the first week of my term is over, my "negotiate softly and carry a big stick" approach will have tipped the scales and we will be well on our way toward ending the eFrance war. It is definitely "winnable".



Adasko: Why do I feel that the "Second Vice-President" is the real Vice-President, while the runner-up is just an adviser with a nice title?

To be candid, because his responsibilities seem "fun". It will be difficult for Kaz to fail in this role and it will also be difficult for him to say, "I improved National Unity by 10%". But that is the point, get a green person with political ambition involved in a high cabinet position and groom for the future. Listening to your podcasts, I peg you as a pro-role-play guy and this position is big on that so I can see why you would see the value in this position.

My Veep will work closely with me. I assume that it will be Dade at this point. Our platforms are quite similar. Mine focuses on three things, two of which he agrees with. Our big difference is the eFrance war, whomever wins CP will likely take the lead on that file. I approve of Dade's approach to end the eFrance war, its a safe one. I find mine more exciting, and so does Dade.
