Golly goodness, todays report has actually been edited and amended; and halved in size. Suffice to say, we've had a huge day, and I am wary of wearing you out with long long loooooong reports when the 'fun' start to the month is over; we're now in the nitty gritty, things must be done phase.

Cabinet has today taken a hit; Nebojsa has difficulties with his internet provision, so whilst still being active, it may (although admittedly, this has not yet proven to be the case) lead to reduced activity. As a backup, Talon Karrde has kindly agreed to assist in the ministry in the near future. Should Neb inform me his internet will be irrevocably affected, we'll have to look at a replacement. Until then, however, things are adequate with Talon lending a hand.

Defence has also been rocked with Sambo having computer troubles. Again, this is not leading to absolute inactivity, just reduced activity for a few days whilst the issues are solved. As the duo of George and Sambo have installed hugely competent teams to deal with strikes, and Call To Arms, the only real thing that we're missing from Sambo, has been taken up by George N. Thus, unfortunately we're set for another 24 hour delay in terms of Military reform. However, progress has been made: Count Drakula has agreed to lend a hand, and we should see the finishing touches added to this reform by late afternoon / early evening tomorrow. Its my hope that we'll have the Government Military completely finalised tomorrow morning; the issue is finalising the lists from Private Military Units and turning those into lists which enable us to effectively communicate.

I did not previously announce this, but key Military Units have since been granted ONE access for orders. Thus, whilst our official 'orders pass on provisions' stopped a few days ago; commanders have the ability to (for the previous few days and the rest of the month) check that their orders are correct themselves. Once we have the PMing lists and other lines of communication sorted, this ONE access will remain; with Government communication 'greasing the wheels' and making it much easier to keep up to date. When Government doesn't or can't however, MUs have the power to check orders themselves.

So, in terms of today; lets just have a look at NHS again, shall we? I've also got reports from the Ministry of Home Affairs, unfortunately for a second week running Foreign Affairs wont be reporting themselves, but I have an update relating to current events anyway, so that will I hope appease your hunger for information.

NHS - Ministers: Blue And Evil and Mookie Gobu
Today saw 5280 Q5 food distributed to 109 1st month and 23 2nd month recipents, with 8 new applications, 2 2nd month applications and 6 mentor requests.

Something of note is that I've promised a small payment of 5 Q6 tanks to anyone who helps out the MoHA with PMing 50 people, and over the last 10 days or so, two of the helpers Raelik and CheetahCurtis have come quite close to that number, so hopefully they'll be getting paid in a few days.

Ministry of Home Affairs - Max Blue and Professor. Jerry Moriarty
MoHA - Update from BigAnt

Firstly, after my recommendation, I'm very happy with the progress of our newest MoHA Max Blue, he has done a sterling job so far and I hope he can maintain his good work for the remainder of the term.

We have tonight begun the new "MoHA Strike" - Which involves mailing a lot of people in on night basically. We have target 4 groups with special mails depending on which area we have targeted (MU's,Parties,NHS,CTA etc) So except some mails flying around in the next day or two.

As for our media, presence we have maintained a good coverage of the "Top 5 media slots" to help grab new players attention. I will also be making a new "Congress" guide, which can hopefully help new congressman understand their roles better and hopefully avoid future mistakes etc.

Report From Max_Blue

What has been done

- I have added two topics to the Introduction section of the forum. One offering free health care and mentors, the other linking to Kravenn's new player guide, these are stickied.

- I have added four topics to the Citizens Advice forum. One explaining how to get onto the IRC (in detail), one linking to Kravenn's new player guide, one explaining health and eating, and the last one explains the homepage. These are all stickied, I do not want to make more topics in this subforum as I don't want to clutter it. At the moment I think the most important points are covered. All of the topics have not been locked as I want people to ask questions relating to the topic there.

- An old NHS topic has been removed from the Free Stuff forum. We know only have one annoucement on the NHS and it is up to date: http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=733

- So far the MoHA has published an article every day, I intend to keep this up.

What I plan to do

- I am looking to do more interviews with Ministers this month.

- I want to get people working with the MoHA who can creat graphics. Once graphics are created I would then start a campaign of getting all citizens to add tags to the bottom of their newspaper(s) promoting things like: call to arms, the NHS, MoD news, MoHA news, the mentor scheme, external forum, IRC channel, CP newspaper (Jamesw), V-CP newspaper (BigAnt). Obviously not all of these can be made into tags (all the time), but I want the options explored by a discussion in general.

http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=81373

- I want to increase public shouts and the use of feeds. Every article I write for the MoHA will contain templates of shouts, as well as encouraging people to use the 'feeds' more.

- I will be looking at improvements I can make to forum games section in the coming days: http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=182

Moriarty - Competitions etc
This month I’ve had a few connection issues, but overall so far I think I’ve got the job done. I try and help out in other areas, and the Cluedo, although it has stalled for now whilst players sort themselves out, is still on-going. I’ve also started another game which requires no real over view, which means I won’t be required to check it every new post. Government PMQ’s was a major success on the Wednesday night, although in hind-sight the PMQ’s last Friday was a disaster. However, that was only the fault of my short sightedness to realise that some puny team were playing miserably at that time.

All records from the PMQ’s will be published in an upcoming article, they just need to be dressed up, checked over for spelling mistakes etc. They will be freely available in the coming days

In fact, they are freely available here

Now, lets talk about foreign affairs and Europe, shall we? To be blunt, Poland is doing an excellent job in terms of removing the USA and hopefully undoing their 100/100 bonuses; indeed if we can keep up the momentum, we will do this so that they can never return to the french regions.

You'll note that Poland is losing to Canada: all we can do is our best to help. We've been doing this all month, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. There was a very useful meeting this evening, with several Presidents and I discussing the future. I can confirm, that future is ONE, and we have plans ready to go to combat the latest EDEN interference.

As well as that, I'm sure you're now all aware that the Bulgarian alliance has arrived; CoT. I welcome this news, and wish them look on behalf of all of our citizens. Its been great to fight with Bulgaria in the past few weeks/months, and I'm sure this alliance will keep that avenue of co-operation open. A notable mention to Bowen199 who has also managed to get his new country, Switzerland an invite into the alliance!

Other than that, there has been a lot of huzzbuzz going around that we're going to NE the USA, or Canada, or France, or Ireland, or Norway, or Germany. I trust that sentence lets you know our position geographically; we have to time things carefully, and tread lightly. We're literally surrounded, so I hope you'll appreciate that choices are not taken lightly, and due diligence must be done to ensure we dont make mistakes that previous Governments did, in rushing into war without thinking about the consequences. That said, we will never, ever, delay or falter in helping our allies. At least, not on my watch anyway.

Thats pretty much it; tomorrow I'll be finishing off some PMing which will have seen my get in touch with every member of every Party, Military Unit, and every recipient of Government help; Call to Arms, Strikes, NHS, etc. Basically, I'm giving everyone the chance to offer feedback on their interaction with my government thus far - as well as make suggestions. We have a budget surplus; we need your help to utilise it. One of the huge and recurring suggestions is to help new players with Storage. Do you have a better or bolder move? Let me know.

Until then, my dear darling brits,
jamesw
