[UKGOV] Prime Minister's Reports - Day 4 (Day 1663)
Hell The Great
Hello Britain.
Firstly, here is a link to previous reports published this term;
Day 1 of the Term; eRepublik Day 1660
Day 2 of the Term; eRepublik Day 1661
Day 3 of the Term; eRepublik Day 1662
So after yesterdays quite report; heres a more in depth and generally 'better' one - things actually happened today!.
Firstly, let me outline some of the occurrences in domestic ministries. So, I have a great little report from one of our Ministers of Retention, Mr BlueAndEvil -
Today saw 4 new signups, and zero people taking up the second month. Weekends are traditionally quiet, since most people have a life. 128 Active players received a food handout. Today's spend was 9622.72GBP.
Mentors will be coming on Monday, along with the weekly report.
The new system I've set up to organise helpers sending welcome PMs to new players has really taken off, now nearly twice the number of people daily are contacted compared to when I did it alone.
As well as this, the traditional Home Affairs guys are hard at work; we have a lovely (but little) statement on behalf of the ministry from Betafoxtrot
Published the first UK Today http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-uk ... 55305/1/20, looking to recruit anyone with any CSS know how. Prof is setting up Cluedo. The next time B&E is on I'll be talking to him about MoHA and MoR working a bit closer together for articles, PMing campaigns and I'd like to look into a national 'census'.
As well as these, in the coming days we'll be organising some Prime Ministers Questions - this will be in game, on the forum, and also on IRC - keep your eyes peeled for more announcements on this one!
So, with domestics out of the way, here are a few facts from our lovely Master Hofkens - the one person standing between me and accidentally treasury'ing again.
Firstly; here is a statement of our current accounts, as of Friday.
08/06/2012 282655.9 + 103378.81 + 1197943.96 = 1583978.67 GBP total
Also, a brief statement outlining the Ministry's structure;
BoE has been lowered to 100k, only Jamesw will use this org.
HM Treasury has been used for donations to players with a claim on the country
Country accounts: have been lowered with two MPP's in the last three days
Special bonus: 200k of the currency inside HM Treasury belongs to a peace treaty with Lithuania and Belarus
Loans: a small amount of loans is still standing out.
The ministry will also be keeping an eye on our income; we want to see how much of an impact the recent tax hike gives us. If it is ample in terms of the increase; I will gladly end my interest in increasing other taxes. However, if it is not; we will again have to look at how best to increase our revenue without impeding upon citizens spending power too much.
Finally for tonight, some Foreign Affairs. Firstly, several people have outlined an interest in what our MPP stack will be reduced to. As of this moment, the MPPs we are committed to keeping are as follows;
Estonia (RENEWED 8/6)
Indonesia (RENEWED 9/6)
Bulgaria
Poland
Hungary
Latvia
Belgium (Friendly neighbour = good)
Sweden
Chile
Serbia
Slovenia
Macedonia
Lithuania
Slovakia
New Zealand
Spain
I hope this information is helpful, and indicative of how we can have a strong set of MPPs, whilst also reigning in the previously spiralling costs that our alliances were subject to.
Finally for both this section, and tonight, I'd like to draw your attention to a few things.
Lets first look at a proposal I put to Congress earlier tonight; Peace in the war with Ireland. As most of you know; we have an agreement with Ireland concerning regions. They will keep Scotland and Northern Ireland; we will keep Louth and Dublin. Ignoring anything other than the bare facts, let me outline that this is simply us bettering our economy.
It sucks that we have to give away regions; in an ideal world, we would have the strength and the ability to just conquer what we need. However, we are surrounded by enemy countries. We have been, and possibly will again be, invaded by several of them (although I doubt this will be the case this month). Thus, any deal which ensures one of our neighbours is more friendly towards us, is most welcome.
If you have any further questions in relation to the peace deal with Ireland, or our 'region swapping' - please get in touch with me and I will gladly answer any of your questions.
One final thought for the day; are we seeing a shift in Canada's position?
They are rejecting two alliance continuations from members of the TEDEN block; countries they have previously MPPd. You can see those proposals here;
Taiwan and Belarus. I can only speculate; but perhaps Canada is becoming more lukewarm in their relations in general towards ONE; are we seeing a shift away from the TEDEN sphere of influence which surrounds us?
Of course, we also cannot ignore Proposals like this either; is Canada about to go to war with Ireland?!. For now, I doubt it. But the two sides are far from friends, and relations have soured over the past few months. If this develops into war, its something which can watch with interest and intrigue; although getting involved with a war between two nations we've had consta-war with in the past, would be foolhardy; we risk simply alienating them both into re-warring us. However, I will rule nothing out, and watch the situation with baited breath.
Lots of love, your darling

yay reports continue \o\
Good to see things ticking along
Are there any MPPs we are losing that we would be useful (but maybe not worth the treasury money)?
I would be willing to pay for one, and can probably rustle up funds for more.
They are going to actually pass that law...
hurr durr by Canada there...
love these reports \o/
Nice to finally see some good information coming through from Government.
The law is going to get over 50% but not the required 66%+1 - they may just declare war on them to bypass the need for the super-majority though.
If we were to join in the Canada Vs Ireland, i'd choose Ireland to be friends with, I like the eIrish now 🙁
it would give us an excuse to invade Canada...
Voted. Keep it up!
