[UKGOV] Prime Minister's Reports - Day 1

Day 1,660, 15:47 Published in United Kingdom France by Hell The Great

Hello Britain.

Firstly, its customary to thank my voters, supporters, friends and everyone involved in my campaign. I'm glad that I won: I make no bones about the fact that I wanted to - and succeeded.

Today has been a day of introducing ministers to their new roles; and to be honest im hugely proud of what has so far been achieved. Home Affairs, Retention, Defence, Foreign Affairs and Legislative Affairs are absolutely on board and I am pleased to see the progress already being made.

We have also attacked Dublin. This was done with the agreement of the Irish CP, and we will ultimately seek to take the region and end the Irish war: once both sides have the necessary regions. We may lose a few rounds overnight (indeed, most; most of ONE sleeps when we do), but we will hopefully ensure the battle is in our favour tomorrow. If not, there is no need to throw supplies at it; Ireland is giving us the region; its just a case of timing the attacks to their taste, and our convenience.

We would have the region, however unfortunately Appleby did not press the attack button this morning, and by the time I had the power to attack; ONE was busy in other battles. Thus, we had to wait until those prime battles were more certain to be won in our favour.

We have an article outlining The vast opportunities in Government - if you can lend a han😛 get involved. You dont need to be Forum, or IRC active; anyone and everyone has a part to play; and we look forward to working with fresh faces.

If you are worried; you need not be. My cabinet this month, contains no less than 4 new ministers; who have never been in the Cabinet properly before. If you include people who are new to their roles; that takes the total up to 6. They'll do swimmingly well, and every single one (huea) of them is eagerly awaiting your applications.

Today, we have essentially began the work of overhauling our Government; so without further ado, please allow me to illustrate some of the changes actioned today;

- MoD re-installing a message based system of informing all MU leaders and captains of orders updates. For some reason, the communication just hasn't been there; now it will be

- MoD has begun organising this months CTA (yay free guns for babies), and will host its first eUK strike tomorrow evening at 8pm. To join, simply go to the #MoD IRC channel on Rizon.

- MoHA and the Ministry of Retention have agreed a staff share deal which will mean that we have two dedicated ministries guiding the public, all volunteers, and Cabinet. This will mean we can provide and account for new players, whilst also ensuring we dont 'forget' the older generations.

- Ministry of Retention has actioned the extension of the NHS program to 2 months. All qualifying citizens who's NHS supplies expired, can claim a further months worth of supplies. Just reply to the PM being sent 🙂.

- Ministry of Finance has ended the Grants program. To be short, the money was simply being wasted. Buying companies in this economy is just throwing money down a hole; it takes over a year for a Saltpeter mine to pay for itself now. To ensure our players also have advice in these troubling times, the Ministry is also drafting an article outlining the situation and advice.

- Ministry of Home Affairs has begun organising who is doing what; how we approach guides, PMing, competitions; etc. We'll hopefully have some great traction this month; or Beta gets fired again! Either way, laughs for all I'm sure.

- Ministry of Legislative Affairs has proposed (on my behalf) a tax increase. This isn't about feeding Government; or taking more from players. To begin with, we need to understand how much our taxes bring in; once we have that, we can then lower taxes to an acceptable leve for both Government and citizens. For those of you forum-alive, you can view the proposal here. For those not, I can state that I have proposed that we have the following taxes:
5% Income Tax (All Industries)
15% VAT (Weapons and Food)

This is a short term tax increase; it will allow us to rebolster our reserves, but more importantly identify where the majority of our revenue is made. Once we know this, we can then adjust and reduce taxes.

- MoLA is also in the process of establishing the 'PP Council' - this will hopefully allow for myself, and Parties, to have an open, honest and useful line of communication; vital for parties around Congress time for planning, etc. If the trial works, we may also begin an in-game message based 'Congress prod' whereby we can outline important votes, check activity, and ensure Congress members are volunteering and doing some actual work for their 5g.

- The Ministry of Retention is also pestering every single Congress member they can find with the hope of forming a group of mentors. We can then begin to mould a program which will see new players welcomed with open arms, etc.

So, thats about it for today. If anyone is interested, I'll be posting these articles EVERY NIGHT for the duration of my term; or if I have to be away one night, at a different time. There will be at least one report from me, or on my behalf, per day this term. All will be published both in game, and on the forums.

I hope that you are beginning to see an effective government take hold; and once last months President, Appleby, returns from work and hands over the keys to the Bank of England and our reserves - we can begin the eventful process of governing for the month.

Lots of love, and until tomorrow.
