You Really Got Me: Four More Weeks!

Day 743, 12:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Foreword
Continuing Policy
New Domestic/Financial Policy
New Military/Foreign Policy

Good Evening!

You may have heard through the proverbial grapevine that I will be running for a third and final term. This is correct, and this article shall remind you of this administration’s policies, and shall also serve to update and refine specific policies so you get a good idea of exactly what we’ve got planned, and so you get a good idea of what we’ve done so far.
We’ve had a bit of a rocky month, after having some companies stolen, and continued military engagements from our home soil. We’ve had great fun, and I hope to keep the spirit alive into my third term.

First of all, it’s a great idea to read over last month’s manifestos. Like this they served to update and refine the previous months set of policies. You’ll find in the two links, links back to the original 3, which to some extent will still apply. There’s a lot of reading up to do, so I hope to summarise what has been said in previous manifestos.

Domestic and Financial
Military and Foreign Affairs

To Summarise some of the key policies from the past 2 months that we’ll continue to use;

SF – In order to free up time for the MoD, the Special Forces CO shall continue to run all SF companies. This also serves to allow the CO to closely monitor the activity of the troops, and allows the CO direct access to supplies as of when they need to be distributed.

MoD – The Recruitment office has been quite successful this term, numerous articles have been released aiming to urge people to sign up to the military. I intend to enhance the coordination of the office between the MoHA and the MoD. More about how this can be done shall follow. Also, the MoD will be storngly urged to take on a uMoD, to help with the organisation and article releasing done by the ministry.

Neutral Nations – I’ve always believed that good relations with neutral nations can only serve to better our current situation in the eWorld. So, using the envoy system I began to implement in my first term, an experienced team shall be gathered in order to better relations and seek out countries with which we can form friendships and treaties with. This can allow for trade and even military agreements. I would again like to take the chance to encourage positive relations between the eUK and Ireland. We hold Ireland in the highest of regards, they are great friends to us and we can only hope the feeling is mutual. With friends such as Ireland, I shall aim to improve the social cohesion, the use of each other’s forums and IRC can help achieve this.

Gifting – Gifting shall continue, many new players benefit from receiving gifting and as a result don’t leave the game. We shall closely monitor people who have been gifted and also use the system to prompt people into moving onto the forums and IRC.

MoW – The MoW shall continue to provide jobs for new players, and shall liaise with the MoHA and work to educate new employees to the company. New players will be encouraged to work in land, and to a slightly lesser extent Manufacturing. This ensures in the future we have enough workers to keep our weapons and Moving ticket factories going, but also enough Land Workers to allows us to export more Grain, the eUK’s most prominent resource.

And if you’re all wondering – Fry Day will continue!

And now for something, Completely different

After taking some notes here and there, we’ve identified some factors that we can improve or change in order to make the eUK a nicer more efficient place. These are our updated policies that we shall begin to implement of the 6th, should I be re-elected.

Domestic/Financial

The Social War Aims Committee shall be established, the Recruitment Office shall be incorporated into the committee, which will be headed by a group of volunteers from across the political spectrum. The committee shall aim not only too release frequent recruitment articles for our military, they shall also release articles to help improve the image of the eUK abroad, to help get us new friends and to help combat any negative portraying that may have been done in the past.
The committee shall also draw up proposal plans, with the help of HoC for measures to be taken in the unlikely event of the eUK losing regions. The Committee will have a representative from the MoHA, and the MoFA to help them design and plan articles more efficiently. A head of the committee shall be appointed.

Messaging Campaigns The MoHA currently conducts messaging services to the public of the eUK. This month, we shall aim to PM all new players regarding information on wellness, where they can find government newspapers and more. Not only that, but specific groups can be targeted, such as those below a certain wellness, or above a certain strength. This means for recruitment purposes we could PM everyone eligible for service in the armed forces, or to help the gifting hub everyone with low wellness can be messaged.

War-time Economy Although we have great support from a wide range of allies, we should prepare for situations we may find ourselves in, possibly losing a region or two. In that scenario we would consider raising income taxes to 20%. It would be an open discussion and you, the public would be involved, and would bear as little of the burden as possible. We have also got a reserve stock of Gold which we will maintain above 2000, and we shall continue the devaluation of the pound. The current MoT is also compiling a guide to business owners, which we hope will be published very soon.

Merger - The UNL have approached the eUK with the idea of a Merger. We are all for Merging with the UNL as it hold benefits for the both of us. Discussion has been taking place and preparations are being made. However, it is still down to the congresses of both our nations to decide what shall happen. (You can read more, here.)

Military/Foreign Affairs

Iron Shortage Currently both the SF and the Navy are having a slight issue with supplying themselves with Iron, and have often had to buy Iron from the markets. I’ve flagged up a few solutions to this problem which will be undertaken following a successful re-election. Firstly, in the navy, a selection of manufacturing ships will be re-trained in land, to provide the navy with a larger land workforce with which to produce iron. Not only that, but the MoT shall begin approaching entrepreneurs who own Iron companies abroad, and begin discussing trade deals.

Military CompaniesThere will be a complete review of all current military owned and ran companies. Again, we will make changes to help tackle the production of not only Iron, but of Moving Tickets as well. We intend to replace a weapons company in the Navy, and construct a moving ticket company in its place. The MoW shall again begin running Royal Petroleum to provide some oil for the production (this shall also provide a future generation of land workers with which to produce iron).

The current Iron companies in the navy shall be sold and new Iron companies shall be built in countries such as Russia, or Hungary, where whilst on a working shift, Navy ships will still be able to fight for their country and its allies.

Furthermore, the Navy shall begin being supplied with 5Q1 guns on a regular basis, opposed to the 3 they usually receive. This means they will deal more damage, and rank up faster. Improving the general efficiency of the largest wing of the eUK's armed forces.

Alliances creating the foundations of a new alliance is no easy task, but is something we’ve embraced. It is also something we have achieved, to help better coordinate our military plans, to enhance the social side of eRepublik, and to bring us support in all areas whether it be economically, or military. We shall support the Phoenix alliance and continue to enhance relations with member nations.

Canada a short preliminary chat has already been had with representatives from Canada, and we are happy to discuss a replacement NAP to the old one, which was rendered void by outlines from the game admins. Following the election, further talks will be held about bettering our relations with Canada.

The Social War Aims Committee Deja vu As mentioned, the Social War aims committee will take in the recruitment office. It shall aim to increase recruitment through working with the MoHA. It will have a direct link to our information services and can provide the PM campaigners with suggested messages to send to Navy-hopefuls.

They can write articles including accounts from battles, information on what fighting has been done, and general information about our armed forces all in order to assist recruitment and activity.
