[MoHA] Our services – Working on your behalf…
This is a public service announcement from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Don’t forget to vote and subscribe.

Now that the elections are out of the way (congratulations Karacticus) and the MoHA team is organised and fully operational; I thought it would be a good time to update you, the Great British public, about what we do and the services we offer.
Services
I’ll start with the services we offer that can help you and move on to more detail about our various departments later in the article.

Assisted Passage To London
Not in London? You really should be. I know that not everyone wants to be in London as they feel a lack of loyalty towards their home region. Well, in this game, as much as we can become emotionally attached to our regions, they are but a name on a server or strategic areas to be used in the war module. There is no regional economy, regional employment or regional taxes. The only things that are regional are defence systems and hospitals and the likelihood is that this could be changed in V2 with hospitals and defence systems able to potentially cover a wider area. Of course there are regional elections and having low populations in regions at these times causes some electoral issues. This is, however, far outweighed by the added experience that the nations citizens gain by living in London. If you want to get involved on a regional level, the best place to do this is on the eUK Forums, where you can participate in your regional councils – even if you are living in London in game.
London is currently our only region with a hospital and it’s a top of the range Q5 hospital. This means that the only place you can fight and heal in eUK is London! Fighting earns you 2xp per fight and so is the quickest way to rank up in game and in military rank. It’s also currently the easiest way by far to achieve and maintain high wellness. So, by having the population in London, our population ranks up quicker and maintains high wellness. This makes the nation stronger.
So why not just put hospitals in other regions? Well, the cost is an issue, with a Q5 hospital costing around 250 gold. The change to V2 will also change the way that hospitals work, as previously mentioned. Then there’s the fact that we are surrounded by countries who could still potentially attack. If our regions are taken, our hospitals are destroyed. That being said, the government will look into the possibility of strategically placing one or two more hospitals once there is further info regarding the implications of V2.
Can’t afford a ticket to London? If you’re beyond level 6 then you’ve already received your 5 gold and so really should be able to afford it at the current prices. If you’re below level 6 or genuinely can’t afford one, contact the eUK Home Office who will look at providing you with a moving ticket free of charge. This offer is only available to those with United Kingdom citizenship.

The British Gifting Hub
Under 40 wellness? The British Gifting Hub can help you. Contact them to get gifted up to 40 wellness so that you can fight and heal. There are a few simple conditions:
- You must have United Kingdom Citizenship
- You must be working in a Q1 company
- You must be living in London
- You do not qualify if you have been gifted by the British Gifting Hub before

The British Gifting Hub will have you fighting fit in no time
MoHA departments and what they do
The MoHA is responsible for various departments which you may or may not be aware of. I’ll run you through each of the departments and give you an explanation of what each of them do.
Citizens Department – underMinister Steve Steinbeck
The Citizens Department ensures that every new player is messaged shortly after joining by a Minister of Home Affairs member of staff who can act as their mentor. This mentor will be willing to answer any question that the new citizen of the eUK may have. They will be messaged again at level 5 offering further info to ensure they understand the new options that open up to them at level 5 and beyond. This dept. will also be manning national chatrooms and in-game forums to offer advice and encourage use of the external eUK forums and irc. They are also active in the introductions and how does this game work threads on the eUK forum. Furthermore, the gifting hub will be managed by the Citizens dept.

The Citizens Department play an important role in player retention
Education – underMinister UK’s finest
The Education department will be publishing regular articles with the Ministry of Home Affairs newspaper giving advice to citizens. They will also be actively offering advice in the forums, along with the Citizens dept. There is a whole Community within eRepublik and the sooner players know about it, the better.

Education is an important way of achieving an active and well informed population
Entertainment – underMinister Lord Weiis
The Entertainment dept. will continue to run the successful eUK Lottery and the monthly Monarch Day event. This adds another aspect to eRepublik life for new citizens who have limited opportunities to get involved in and meet more members of the community. The team will also be responsible for creating threads in the entertainment forum and creating competitions both in-game and on the forum.

Increasing the fun factor
Media – underMinister Horice G Fossil
The National Newspaper Association will continue to operate under the media team and we aim to have improved coverage of Phoenix countries and foreign affairs. Citizens knowledge need not be confined to home affairs and we must be able to readily offer information on countries outside the eUK. Anything that might interest a new or old player will be covered.

The NNA search through all the news so that you don’t have to
Wiki – underMinister Coram_Boy
The wiki dept. will ensure that the eUK wiki is as complete and up to date as possible. They will also be setting up pages for when new rules come into effect, so that we can respond quickly and efficiently to the changes and ensure that our new citizens are always informed of the current rules. The current wiki tutorial is to be updated and expanded to offer as much guidance as possible.

The MoHA wiki team are constantly updating our wiki pages
In game advertising – underMinister Tom Fletcher
The in-game advertising dept. will continue to use their skills to create images for other departments as required.

Tom & an apprentice failing to produce me a pic in time :p
Off site promotion – underMinister Asher Di Immortales
The off-site promotion team will be pushing the game to a British audience in a continuing effort to get us the much talked about and elusive baby boom. They will be posting on message boards, contacting media, attempting to contact the monarch and running the facebook account amongst other things.

Technology – underMinister Nice Guy Eddie
The technology department will be continuing the work of Mo-Tech to improve the use of technology in assisting us. The main aim for this month is to set up an information hub where citizens can find all the info. they should need. They also have several other interesting projects lined up which you can read all about on the forum.

These guys do some really clever stuff that I don’t even understand
Ministry of Silly Walks

Oh no, I haven’t created this dept........…..yet
In addition to these departments, the MoHA work as a team and collectively get involved with various messaging campaigns each term. For example, just this weekend we messaged every employed citizen under 40 wellness to advise them of the services offered by the gifting hub.
If you’ve somehow managed to read the entire article then thanks for your time. I hope this helps to explain to you the things that are going on behind the scenes here in the MoHA.

[PM]From the desk of the Prime Minister

In a break with tradition - I've decided to say hello and thank you from the paper that will become the heart of our communications over the next month. Anyway let's get this show on the road.
I'd like to thank all those who voted for me and I very much hope that I can repay the trust you've decided to put in me (We're all doomed). It's been a really enjoyable election process and I'd like to congratulate the other runners for their good natured campaigning. Without these CP elections the country would be a far less interesting place.
What You Can Expect

No not that
First of all you can expect another article on Sunday outlining each cabinet members aims for the month. Over the next two days, myself and the cabinet will sit down and draw up a plan and schedule in order to make sure we complete all the goals and aims I outlined within my manifesto.
We're going to have some fun and so are you
Now that is probably the most outlandish claim I can make, but we're going to work with our allies and see what we can do about ensuring regular warfare for all our citizens to partake in. Just be sure to keep an eye on the MoD for more info and orders.
Mr Prime Minister, your very short

You're so right! I will return on Sunday with a more in depth article. I'm usually of the belief that an article should be informative, interesting and poignant. That said, I'm a little excited, a bit of wee came out, and I wanted to say hello and thank you.
Keep 'em peeled UK

[MoHA] Quiet spell
It is not uncommon while the Country President (CP) elections are going on nothing much else does. Simply the president is coming to the end of this term, and is either tied up in campaigning or are sitting back as it a bad time to start anything as a new CP might not continue along the same theme.
CP election
I would encourage you to read CP hopeful Karacticus’s newspaper as it will give you an idea of what he stands for and will do. Check it out here.
Also you should check out Altmer Vampire’s (AV’s) newspaper here to see what he has to say too.

Politics in eRepublik, isn’t boring old suits. Here the people actually are useful, relevant and don’t do it for selfish reasons.
Once you have selected a candidate you want to become the leader of this nation you can vote here. If you don’t want to vote for either AV or Karacticus you should vote for one of the 3 other candidates. These parties are too small to win, and the benefit to voting is you get XP (experience points) for voting.
A little MoHA recap
- If you want to read about the lack of wars and the CP elections read here.
- If you are looking to know more the national forum; where all the action happens, look here.
- Free stuff? Have a look here.
- If you want to read about how UK citizens can, and should work more together look at this: here.
To get the MoHA updates as soon as they are published ‘ subscribe ’, to the paper at the top of the article.
Sorry for the lack of new material in this article but, if you have read the first paragraph hopefully you will understand. read more
[MoHA] No Battles + The elections
Now I know a lot of you out there have been upset at the lack of battles. I know this as I have been reading my shouts and trying to respond to you all. Quite frankly the nation has come to expect rolling wars in the recent weeks. It has not always been this way, but thanks to the wars in Europe, the battle of Britain and the Turkey/Greece conflict.
This was ideal and our citizens have gained much from these wars. Our citizens have higher wellness than they used to. This is not only because of the British Gifting Hub handing out health to those that ask them here, but because people have been fighting once then healing in the hospital on the battlefield, and then not fighting again that day to get their health up to near 100.
But I want to fight!!!
Ah, don’t we all? Well you can still fight. You can sign up to the Royal Navy or Para’s if you strong enough, both here.
If I sign up what’s in it for me???
You will get weapons for fights. You will get moving tickets to get to battles all over the eWorld. You will get a wage large enough to maintain a good wellness. You will receive orders here (yes it’s the same place as you sign up). You will work in a team in strikes, and you will become a member in a great community. Furthermore you will get the 10 XP daily from fighting (2 XP each fight).
Why would you not sign up?
That looks good, what’s the catch???
There is no catch. You will be expected to work in a military company, but you will still receive a wage large enough to allow you to maintain an high wellness (90+).

We need you!
The Country President (CP) elections.
As you have likely seen, the race for the CP elections is nearly complete.
Karacticus (The Unity Party) (supported by People’s Communist Party, Belgian Intrest Party, Indiekid Smells like Butter, The Real Spamicans and USA Cannot Into London)
vs.
Altmer Vampire(Radical Freethinkers Alliance) (supported by United Kingdom Reform Party, The British Empire Party, Free Democratic Party, United Kingdom Defence Party and The Welsh Nationalist Party)
Quite simply to shall just post what they both have to say in general:
Altmer Vampire: An Update
And Karacticus: Karacticus: In a Tent
There are foreign affairs and military manifesto’s, along with others floating around right now so check them out in the news section here.
The main thing to remember is you the individual man or woman must decide who you want to be the leader of this nation, and not who your party tells you too support. Check out what each man has to say and make your mind up based on their experience, what they say, and whether you believe they can or will deliver on their promises.
Anyway, there is enough of you to read from both of the candidates so I will wrap this up here. Happy reading.

Chosing a leader isn’t a little task. - Don’t be swayed by cheap gimmicks like above.

[MoHA] National forum broken-down
The national forums are the heart of the UK. Here active players chat, learn, have a good time and take part in their nation. If you are not on the national forum you can register here. I am now going to break-down what the forum is all about.

Don’t judge it before you’ve seen it
I have put in bold probably the best forums for a new player to check out as it will take a long time to look around yourself. Here goes…
Downing Street

Announcements - where the Prime Minister can convey messages to the people of the UK.
Military Orders - where either the PM or members of the cabinet will post the MoD orders.
Battle Analysis - where people can discuss how well/badly strikes went, battle planning, stats, or just how well a battle went.
Lobby - the lobby is just an area for people to ask general questions to the PM or suggest things.

You don’t have to be a politics type to have a post in here. Any questions an the PM and co will try and help out.
General

General - is a place for general eRepublik chat and discussion. If your new you can introduce yourself here to get to help too. This is the most active forum. It also has two sub forums in it, a ‘news’ section and a ‘how does this work?’ section.
Foreign Affairs Discussion - this is an area to hold foreign affairs matters, Phoenix, EDEN or stuff on other countries. There is also an ‘embassies’ section for the foreign ambassadors to make reports and ask questions.
Economic Discussions - if you are interested in the monetary market, being a general manager or selling things this is your place. It has a ‘marketplace’ sub forum where managers and traders from the UK and other nations can come and trade. There are usually cheaper things to be found here than ingame.
Military Discussions - p much what it says on the tin.
Technology Discussions - if you are a technical nut this will be your cup of tea. It contains a ‘scriptbank’ whatever that is.
Entertainment - a place for games and the like.
Regional - this has four sub forums one each for NI, Scotland, Wales and England. These are not widely populated so you can make yourself stand out here easier.
Suggestions - if you have something to say to the forum admins with is where to approach them. Whether you want some new smilys, a new sub forum, etc etc whatever really.

General stuff going on in the eUK

House of Lords - the most experienced players in the UK forums are allowed to have this forum to review the HoC.
Public Discussion - all players can discuss things here that will benefit the UK, such as recruiting players from elsewhere, podcasts, what congress (MP’s) are doing etc etc.
Cabinet Offices - All ministries have an office, MoD, MoHA etc etc. A piece of each ministry is viewable to the public, but the real work goes on behind the scenes. You can sign up to help in a ministry in the form in the general section.

You don’t have to wear a suit to make ideas that will benefit everyone.
Party Politics

Private Forum Requests - here you can request access to your ingame parties private forum.
Party President Meeting Room - if you lead a politic party you can discuss tactics and policies with the other leaders here.

Games - this is a forum that consists of two sub forums. ‘Sports’ and ‘video games’, sports is six nations, to champions league, to premiership to F1. Video games is basically COD2 to free internet games.
Random - for, well random stuff.
Bob Boblo's House - the king of spam in the UK has his own forum to mess around in and you can spam in there with him and the other like minded people if you so desire.

Hopefully this has helped you either find something new on the forum, or has inspired you to register and see what all the fuss is about. If you liked this, please go back to the top of the page and vote, and if your not subscribed add yourself to the 1270 odd others. read more
