The Trooper; A Military and Foreign Affairs Manifesto.

Day 712, 14:07 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Good Afternoon!

First of all, I'd like to point you towards a recent interview and the MoD's recent article.

As Presidential Elections approach, it’s time to release a manifesto. As, if re-elected this term will be a continuance of the last - many policies from last month’s manifesto’s will be still be in use. You can read the three manifesto’s here;

Domestic
Financial
Military/Foreign Affairs

This manifesto can therefore be considered and updated refined version of the previous 3, as we progress so must our targets and so I shall begin to outline initiatives that my administration will follow. A lot of the focus is on Military matters, as Military and Foreign affairs tend to fluctuate more than Financial or Domestic issues.

It shall be split in two, the second being released tomorrow. This, the first two thirds, is on Military and Foreign Affairs.

Military

RG – As you will know, after discussing the position the RG was in with its CO, the MoD, and the RN command, we decided to disband it. Instead, the Navy have taken over the task of looking after new recruits and a training wing has been set up to accommodate new entrants into the military. This serves to enlarge the mobile forces and keep people active. For those of us who are stationary, #UKCIVGUNS can provide a few weapons for users on IRC.

RN – As mentioned in our previous manifesto, a review of the distribution of funds opens up the possibility of more money being sent to the Navy. We often have to assess in low priority battles wether more damage can be done arming a few higher strength people, or more by arming a wide range of the Navy. Ensuring the Navy is consistently well armed is a wise investment as it ensures that people rank up quicker, which as a result means they do more damage. To achieve this, we will direct more funds to the navy, in order to create a stronger fighting force.

SF - The Running of SF companies shall be done by the CO of the Special Forces. This allows for the Special Forces to have better control over the employment of its soldiers and frees up a small amount of time for the MoD. Furthermore, it allows for the distribution of weapons and raw materials to be done by the CO when it is needed. Not only that, but it allows the CO too closely monitor the activity of members of the SF.

MoD – As people progress through the navy and into the special forces we often see a demand for troops. To cater for this need of new soldiers, the Recruitment Office shall be made acting under myself and the MoD. The recruitment office shall be tasked with making regular recruitment articles, and writing up accounts of various battles that the UK has been involved in. This serves to raise interest in our military, but also to try and get more support, activity, and interest from the whole of the eUK.

Other Military Initiatives include establishing a team of military experts, including the MoD and MoFa who will be known as the war cabinet. They shall gather on IRC and help with the running and leading of the eUK’s military branches. It shall include all CO’s and act as an alternative to the post of MoDaFA.

Foreign Affairs

After implementing a new Envoy system into the MoFa, by which Ambassadors are split into 4 groups led by an envoy. Each group puts its focus on their designated area, EDEN, PEACE, N.America, and Neutral countries. This new system has proven successful, each envoy sending me their individual reports. Now to outline some policies to follow during the next term;

PEACE – Our relations with PEACE are great. After taking part in military engagements across the globe, we’ve become an active member of the alliance. They value us, just as we value them. Our ties with PEACE are strong, they are a great bunch of people and are easy to get to know. That’s why I want to promote the use of the PEACE forums and IRC. I’ve made a number of new friends by taking part in discussions here, and making more eUK’ers do the same can’t harm anyone.

Promoting participation in PEACE’s new mobile army, the PEACEKeepers will also be done by our MoD. The PK’s are an elite unit funded by member nations of PEACE, and are looking for some of the best soldiers to sign up and get involved.

We can also look to improving relations with PEACE countries through the use of treaties. For example, the Frankfurt treaty written up by The German CP and myself is a good symbol of strong relations. We should be seeking out more individual treaties. These could be expanded in the future to facilitate a more significant purpose.

N.America – It may surprise you to know that the USA has some pretty cool people in it. Although there seems to still remain some friction, both sides often share a joke, which could be viewed as a positive. There are a number of ways to utilise the disliking between our nations, and talks have already began with the relevant people over potential schemes, obviously, I can’t tell you too much as it would ruin the surprises that would follow, so if this particular paragraph has caught your eye and you want to find out more, you know who to vote.

EDEN – EDEN is in one respect the opposition force to PEACE, it helped The USA and Canada liberate themselves and did a rather good job. I myself am thankful that such an entity exists in eRep, as it gives us all something to do.

However, there does seem to be some degree of bitterness and mocking, which we could take measures to reduce. Perhaps look upon this as trying to regain the mutual respect between nations.

Neutral Nations – There are lots of Neutral nations in the world, who have many things to offer, in terms of trading deals, trust, or just plain friendship. Again, treaties can be sought out with neutral countries, but practically speaking we can’t befriend the whole world. My new Envoy system can help identify countries who would be interested in creating a treaty. By doing so, this would help serve the UK’s interests, wether it be trade partnerships or otherwise. It’s also worth mentioning our current relationship between ourselves and Ireland, who have always been very good friends of the eUK. We currently have the Raleigh treatment in place, and to help support it further I would like to promote social relations between our two countries. Another IRC room I’m fond of is e-Ireland, and getting more eUK’ers chatting there would help promote even more positive relations between our two countries. The Government under myself will always be willing to help Ireland to the best of our ability.

And I must leave you on that note, tune in next time for the Domestic and Finance policies.
