Another Term!

Day 641, 06:56 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Who am I?

Hello! I am Mr Woldy, Congressmen for the East Midlands, Unity Party President, Cabinet Minister, and Royal Guards Captain. I shall again be running for congress on the 25th, and shall begin to outline my policies, past experience, and a few of the reasons why a vote spent on me certainly isn’t a waste.

During my time on eRepublik, I’ve done a variation of things. When I first began, just back in February of this year I was very interested in the journalism aspect of the game, and for months worked to produce articles which people would enjoy reading, yet find informative and helpful.

Following the experiences I had in the first few weeks of my e-life, I was prompted to produce at Guide for new players, which soon expanded into a whole set of guides, for all players, new and old.
You can view them, here;

New Players Guide
Guide to Congress
Guide to the Presidential elections
Guide to Wellness and fighting
Guide to Game Mechanics

Many of these guides proved to be hugely popular, and are still very much in use today. Both the new players guide and the wellness guide, despite being months old are still widely used by Companies, our own Government, and the Governments of a few other countries.

As a member of TUP, we discuss and follow a manifesto that we make every month to present the views of our members and congressmen. This party manifesto, which acts as a manifesto for all members, can be read in the Unity Press, TUP’s official paper.
However, there are a few things that I would personally like to speak on, to make my personal views clear.

International

Following the UK’s entrance into PEACE, we have found ourselves in a much more secure, and by all means comfortable position on the international scale. However, I feel we should still try to improve relations with a few of the neutral countries in the eWorld. Obviously, the UK cannot police the world in the old Atlantis style, but we can certainly befriend many neutral countries, which could help increase trade and support. Also, we should help promote UK-PEACE Relations, the little things, like signing up to the forums or using the IRC can all help strengthen the ties.
By strengthening ties with other countries that aren’t hostile, we open the opportunity of creating specific trade agreements. Imports for Iron and Oil, for example, could be secured.

Domestic

As Minister of Home Affairs, domestic issues to UK faces are often something I have to deal with. At the minute, we have lots of foreign spam/propaganda pouring into our media. The MoHa has taken steps to try and make sure citizens know where to look to find the actual information they need, but I think we could aim to release articles in an attempt to combat the propaganda when it happens. We also regularly PM people about wellness, this is something I used to do in the EM, but since being appointed MoHa two terms ago I have been able to assemble a team and focus our efforts on not one region, but the entire nation.

Military

Our military has gone through a period of reform and growth, and is now, considering our nations size, a force to be reckoned with. However, more could be done on the recruitment side of things, getting more recruits is essential, and I feel it has been a short while since I saw a recruitment article. This sort of thing could be done by the whim of higher ranking officers, and perhaps even promoted amongst all the ranks, to help encourage recruitment articles and enthusiasm within the military.

Why vote me?

Being a real life Midlander, I know that we like what’s good and right. A vote for me is a vote for a dependable, enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced congressman. Having been in congressmen and heavily involved with the UK’s government and TUP’s party politics for the past months, I’ve really racked up the experience. I’ve also rose up in the military, and familiarised myself with the game mechanics surrounding war, and the UK’s military. I’ve worked in a range of Ministries, and been the head of two. I also enjoy getting involved with the discussions in the House of Commons. Taking an active part in debate, and often providing people with something to debate on.

I care quite a lot for my fellow EM-ers, and try to help them along as much as possible. I always invite people to approach me with any questions, and often PM region members who may need a bit of help.

I often send my Manifesto to citizens in the EM asking for feedback, I’d like to thank everyone for their help and support over the past few months. Promoting activity in the EM can be tricky, but as a member of the EM council and the MoHa, I often take part in and promote the activity’s set up to encourage people onto the forums. I continue to help people and message people who I think may need help. I also am more than willing to answer any questions you may have.

As a side note, well done to everyone who received their AS/A-level results this week 😃
Remember, on the 25th, vote smart 😉
