Your vote counts: Beginners guide to Congress
Mr Woldy
The 25th sees our next congressional election. From 8 o'clock in the morning you will be able to vote for who you think is the best candidate for congress. At the tope of your page, where it say's "Work today" "Train today" it will say "Cast your Vote". Click on it to cast your vote!
But What is Congress?
Congressmen get to vote on and put forward proposals. If the proposal gets a majority vote, it is passed, meaning that it comes into effect.
Proposals
A proposal is usually a new law, or an amendment to an existing one. They can be put forward by the President or a member of Congress. They are important because they affect everybody. There are other proposals, for example, congressmen vote on; protection pacts, peace treatys, and money transfers between the country accounts and bank of England.
How do I choose?
Choosing is simple, all you need to do is click on vote for congress, which will appear in your "to do list" on a voting day. You will see a list of candidates, and their presentations. Your decision should be based on who you think will make their decisions in the same way you would. You can get an idea of candidates policys and opinions by reading their presentations. Another question you should ask yourself is what can the candidate do for you as an individual.
Where do discussions take place? How do they decide?
Most discussions happen on our forums http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/index.php
When a proposal is put forward congressmen can vote on it.

Nice guide, but voting starts at 8 not 7
i may vote you
Can I only vote for congressmen in my area or can I vote for anyone from all over the eUK?
You vote for the ones in your region
Do not forget that when you vote you gain experience points too - so it is something that you really do want to do!
Jesus, man. Learn to apostrophe!
It's quite strange, actually; your spelling and grammar are pretty much perfect, except for apostrophes! Plural nouns like 'proposals' don't use apostrophes. You only use apostrophes when you've missed out letters - i.e. "do not" = "don't", or "Steve his book" = "Steve's book".
But great article, I could have done with this back in the day.
i think grammar and english are more or less beside the point
HEIL WOLDY
I tend not to get too exercised by grammatical errors unless they are really bad. Let it pass.
Nice one.
Nice article. Voted and subscribed. 🙂
