Senate Review [Read Before You Vote]
Melchizedek Smith
When first elected Party President of the Australian Independents Party (AIP) I made the following promise:
I will keep an official log of all elected senators both from the AIP and all other parties, and their candidate platform. Details will be published and updated regularly with links to the senate and voting hall library in order that citizens can see the impact that their elected officials are having. This should perhaps serve as a warning to the senate that the AIP will continue to ensure that the bastards are kept honest.
The following list details Senators and their input into the running of the country over the last 3 weeks. Note that I have listed Senators under their respective parties (that is the party they were listed with during the election) so that voters can easily track the activity of the Senator that they elected. I have also included the State in which the Senator originally ran.

Make of this information as you will. Many of these Senators may have justification for their actions or lack thereof so I would urge you to speak with them and be informed before voting in this coming election. Personally, considering the above information, I find it no surprise that there would be a public call for Senate reform. Unfortunately until the citizens elected are committed to the role, even with reform we can’t be guaranteed that the system will work. It begins with the public and it is your duty ensure that you elect the right people. As to the Senators themselves, know that you are under the microscope, and I would encourage you to strongly consider your commitment to eAustralia before running. Don’t just stamp “I support Senate reform” at the bottom of your election presentation. Start by reforming yourselves.

well done!
nice
I have actually contributed to discussions... just not many.
Well done. It is nice to have someone put this much thoroughness into their journalistic endeavors, especially when it pertains to the governing of our e-nation.
Nice Mel! 😃
Coppr - you are the strong, silent type? (Cerri is asking)
xD
Good article Mel. I bet it was hard work. Just quickly, all of my election promises were sorted out without need for proposals.
Jake Jones’ activity in the Senate lasted about 24 hours, after which time he has been inactive in discussions and voting.
Did Vote, and read about the discussions, just didnt post anything..
I voted every time, Get your facts straight.
you have to be on the forums to vote for a lot of things mate. Everything is decided on the forums before it goes to an ingame proposal. The in game proposal is just a formality. And most policies don't need ingame proposals.
Gecko got banned didn't he?
Jake Jones, I assume as does Listhp Tomptos that when you say you voted on all proposals, you simply refer to those put forth in game. As Listhp has already pointed out the majority of the work of the Senate takes place in the forums, with in game voting merely a formality. With this in mind can I direct you to your forum recor😛

Mark you are correct that Gecko1 received a permanent ban. Unfortunately, although Senators are alerted when a Senator leaves the Senate, we are not informed when one is perma banned. As a result this information has only recently been brought to my attention.
Thanks for the flattering description 😉
excellent stuff. If I'm elected keep me honest.
Good to see i got a good one 😛
But the thing that worries me, we have a really non-active senate these days 🙁
people please vote for people you think is going do your country proud, BY BEING ACTIVE ON THE FORUM DISCUSSIONS!!
By the way great article and great work Mel, love it!
Thanks for the very useful article! Voted and subscribed. Keep them honest!! 🙂
There's a senator with a total of 6 posts in the forum?
One was to join the forum, one was to say he'll do his best another one was a mistake...
That's shameful.
