Your Voice In The Senate

Day 581, 19:26 Published in Australia Australia by Melchizedek Smith

As my first term as a Queensland senator draws to a close I, Melchizedek Smith would like to take the time to reflect on what has been a busy month.

One of my greatest desires prior to the last senate election was to see a change in government attitude toward our new citizens. With the election of Tim09 came the introduction of the Department of Cultural Services (DoCS). The object of this department being to increase player retention and satisfaction through personal contact. Since its implementation, my charity ’The Smith Family’ has been working alongside the Minister of Cultural Services (MoCS), Cerridwen Voeland, to help improve the service it offers. Currently myself and other volunteers are working with the DoCS messaging new citizens and welcoming them to eAustralia. Amidst that contact comes the offer of free food provided by ‘The Smith Family’. The long term impact of this work is yet to be seen, but the immediate benefits appear obvious, with greater productivity and enhanced player incentive.

The last few weeks also saw me take on the role of Party President for the Australian Independents Party (AIP). The party itself is now undergoing a rapid redevelopment, the effects of which are being seen already within the forum, and which will become clearer to the public in the next 24 hours. The most notable work being done here is the work toward transparency and equality during elections, and accountability within the senate. Keep an eye out for my next article tomorrow.

Within the senate I have been greatly active ensuring that all bills and amendments proposed are thoroughly examined before moving to vote, and I am one of only a few who can lay claim to having voted on every issue to have arisen during the term. I encourage you, the public, to study carefully the impact that your elected officials are having before going to the polls this week. You can see what has been discussed here, who have proposed bills and amendments here and how your senators have voted here.

With another term just days away, I now call on the people of Queensland, and eAustralia, to support me in my bid for a second term as AIP Senator. I can guarantee consistency and strength within a government which at times seems shaky. I will continue to support and guide our newer citizens, and ensure that the voice of the people is heard. I will continue to impose myself on the senate to make certain that all senators are active in their duty and held accountable for their actions or lack thereof. My desire is to stand as a representative of the people. By voting for Melchizedek Smith you are demanding that your voice be heard.

Melchizedek Smith,
Director ‘The Smith Family’
AIP Queensland Senator
