Dear Tasmania

Day 577, 03:46 Published in Australia Australia by Patrick Reckitt

Dear Tasmania,

I have, according to this piece of paper, been made the Senate Candidate for the Australian Communist Party. Perhaps proof that Communists are fools, but we'll come to that some other time, somewhere after you vote me in and I get in your base, redistributing your wealth.

I've been playing eRepublik since November 2008, so a fair amount of time. In that time I've done many different jobs, including being a Congressman in the eUK, Party President of the Liberal Social Democrats in the eUK, a Colonel of the eUK Royal Guard and Commander of Overseas Forces in the ePhilippines. All of this experience means that I've seen much of both the political and military sides of the game and means that I have ample experience in discussing and considering the effects of decisions made by legislators. I've been in eAustralia for about a month now too, fighting with the Dropbears and getting to know how your system works and generally enjoying myself. So, to put it succinctly, I've got the experience to represent you.

What can I, as Senator, get you? Apart from experience, that is. The main, and most important thing, that I can give you as a Senator is activity and the ability to listen. I will be in that forum, representing you to the hilt. I won't be getting bogged down in partisan fights either. I'll represent your views and the views of my party, but I know not to get carried away with petty recriminations. You should know, too, that should you elect me, you can PM me with your views on a particularly subject, or a legislative request, and I'll do my best to help you. I'm not in this for the glory or the gold, I'm in this to put my activity and experience to some practical use.

I can't promise you hospital, defense systems or the moon as those are not things that a Senator can give you.

I can give you my very best, in lieu of that.
