Buck Roger's Greatest Hits (and, Battle Orders Script updated!)

Day 777, 16:22 Published in Greece Canada by Buck Roger

There are literally thousands of Q5 articles in the presses of eRepublik that are seldom, if ever, read, simply because they are more than 48 hours old. This article highlights some of my oldies but goodies.

But, first, if you live in Greece and read in English, you absolutely ought to install my translated version of the official Greek battle orders script (newly updated for 2010) so that you can see the current battle orders for Greek citizenry at a glance. The story of an English version first broke here, along with complete instructions for getting it up and running.

Track 1 - We're Number 10! We're Number 10!

Five months ago, I said that it looked like Greece was "destined to become a top 10 country of eRepublik in every important aspect," and Greece has indeed held its spot around number 10 by total exp ever since. Later I followed up for my specific, short-term predictions.

Track 2 - Survey Says! Come for the Fight, Stay for the Friendly People and Good Economy

My first big effort at coordinating anything in eRepublik was helping Canadians, Spaniards, and Americans who had been caught in annexed territories to get to Greece as a place from which to continue to fight the good fight or, possibly, as a new home. This analysis, along with Headcount: Some Stats on the Sponsored Newcomers, reflects on the outcome of these efforts.

Track 3 - Big Shifts in the Raw Materials Markets

This was my first dip into heady economic analysis. It was also the most speculative one I ever produced, as it tried not only to find statistics and trends but also to explain them. A follow-up to this study of 5 months ago has always been an idea in the back of my mind.

Track 4 - The Way of the Gun

This is one of the most downright useful articles I've written, in my view. The tips are straightforward and mathematically sound ways to improve the effectiveness of any army. The first two are very well-known, among experienced players, but the reasoning in the third part of this article may help even the most veteran of warriors.

Track 5 - Peace GC, we hardly knew ye

I include this as irrefutable evidence that I am constitutionally incapable of writing good propaganda or humor that the public gets. Also, just because I like it.

Track 6 - Business Opportunities in 27 Countries No 1 and No 2

Since each of these articles took about three days of working 16 hours a day to complete, I eventually defaulted on my intent to keep writing them every two weeks. Nevertheless, although the charts are now meaningless, the information in terms of technique (of computing profitability) and other analysis is still useful perennially.

Track 7 - Home Economics: Making Money and Saving Money

Tips for the everyman (and woman) within eRepublik, following this advice will allow you to build your wealth without ever making a business or playing the monetary market (although these are, of course, excellent ways to build wealth also).

Track 8 - Some Ideas for Economics Module v2 (CUTE cats inside!)

My highest-voted article of all time, and the last time I published an article in my 1564 subscriber newspaper "The Underdog's Bark," this article made suggestions for a module that was announced four months ago and still has not arrived (and will, as the article itself says, look nothing like what I suggest).

Track 9 - From Baby to Young Adult: Your First 45 Days

My first highly popular article on my citizen's newspaper, The Buck Starts Here, this instruction manual is the quintessential startup-guide that has been reprinted in the Greek press and also adapted by other players for their nations, with my permission.

Track 10 - Merry Christmas, eRepublik

The first of a few articles that dealt with giving away money to charitable purposes, one of the fruits of which was undertaking to do the next item myself.

Track 11 - The eOlympics - An Initiative Like No Other

This initiative is on for this week only, to be held on January 7th through 10th. The reason? Continuing to write articles about an eOlympics seems ill-advised, since it has been construed as spam.

Track 12 - Rules of War Every Greek Should Know

Despite the title, these rules of war are applicable to intelligent warriors in any eCountry.

Track 13 - How I Made 7 GOLD Overnight and You Can Too

The first new way of creating GOLD in eRepublik to be released in ages, and this article promoted the use of it by USA citizens by showing that it can be done and can even be easy.

Those are my greatest hits of my first six months in eRepublik. I look forward to bringing you lots more in 2010. As always, I like votes and love comments!
