Introduction

For my first interview I choose someone that some of you probably just met or heard about and the rest that do know him knows that eCanada is bound to be a different place in the near future. On this past election day I saw shouts and comments of “who the hell is this guy” and “Never heard of him” to be matched with “This guy helped us in our struggle with Spain” and “Lelouch and Punisher now support DMV3” so just who is this guy that people have either never heard of or seem to hold him on high as eCanada's savior

I first came across DMV3 in an MU group feed designed to coordinate the MU’s in eCanada’s Resistance Wars with Spain, I wasn’t an MU leader so Im not sure what I was doing there but it let me peek through the key hole to see some guy who ive never heard of before and assumed was a new guy in some other eCanadian MU take a leadership role within a feed packed full of leaders, except for myself.

Then when The Crimson Canucks decided to branch off into the United States to try and boosts its membership in hopes of bringing some more damage to eCanada’s resistance wars it became very apparent that he wasn’t some enthusiastic eCanadian newb but some enthusiastic US bigwig. He helped 20+ Crimson soldiers navigate their way through the United States Immigration system to quickly become citizens and members of The Crimson Eagles, this was before MU membership was opened up to anyone, just before.

Besides being eCanada’s Newest President, DMV3 or Dennis McVicker, is the Founder and Commander of the Praetorian Guard and has been a Presidential Advisor for eCanada, Secretary of Education in the US, National Security Director in the US, a Congressman for the US six times and Founder of US-AIM (Association of Independent Militia’s)

Interview Music

-Let me start by saying congratulations on your recent win for the big chair in eCanada, your our Country President and how you did it and in what time period you did it is pretty amazing. You became a Canadian Citizen on the 31st of August and its CP on the 5th of September so in 5 days you campaigned with eCanada’s #5 Political Party and won by experience after a tie with IBleedBlue of the MDP. I don’t think the CPF’s candidate choosing to drop out had much to do with your success so how the hell did you do it?

-A few things helped me do this I believe. First because I had missed the party primaries I ran a heavily populist campaign. I sent a private message to every Canadian in a party, but not in party leadership since party leaders tend to be the most active they had probably made up their mind. Second I had ran at the urging of some highly well known Canadians so I knew I had a base of support some of my opponents did not. The final thing is I put up a unique campaign and platform that resonated with voters

-Your platform had exact goals in mind from a 1% tax scheme to stimulate immigration, restarting MU funding, kicking the Ministry of Education into high gear as well as being ever present in the eCanadian Media. To be honest eCanada is used to big promises from its candidates and not many deliver or even try once they obtain the CP medal. I don’t believe this to be true as I’ve seen your commitment to your responsibilities while being in the United States but you have doubters as I’ve heard that you only came to Canada for the easy win, I’m not sure if you thought it would be this easy but a lot easier then being POTUS, now that you’ve won are you committed to improving eCanada?

-I'm extremely committed to this job, I've never been one to take a job I couldn't do well. Part of the reason I entered the race late is because Oblige had decided to make me Secretary of Homeland Security in the eUS and I wanted make sure me leaving would not put their government in a bad spot. My goals I set for my administration are meant to be the minimum I will accept from myself and those working for the Canadian people. My hope is to encourage them to go above and beyond the agenda I set for this month.

-eCanada has been through an 8 month occupation by Spain. Morale is down, activity is down, the population is down and I would argue these where on the way out before Spain took control. The occupation might of hastened the symptoms from a sickness caught from the Game Developers inability to make this game not only appealing to current players but new players as well, so as a CP what can you do if anything to kick the country in ass and get things interesting again

-I think it comes down to increasing activity and visibility from the government and giving people something to be excited about. Now my campaign was meant to be exciting, but unfortunately good government is not very entertaining. With that in mind I plan on putting out new programs to help keep new players interested and feeling like they contribute to the nation. I have also been reaching out to party leaders, Congress, and military leaders to try to keep them engaged and involved in what is going on in the executive. I plan on making two announcements midweek one is a new domestic program and the second should be something that makes Canada a more appealing ally.

-Over the years eCanada has been slowly dismantling its role play institutions and trimming down its Charter thus taking away what some may of found enjoyment doing however ineffective or misguided in game. Comparing the States with eCanada and taking into account the US having a much larger active population do you believe there is room for more role play in eCanada such as Immigration departments, maybe a Court of Law or even an Intelligence community?

-I think role play is underutilized in eRep in general. Role play gives people a reason to get involved and stay interested in the game. I think an intelligence program could be quite effective especially considering the number of expats we have living all of the world. Immigration is also a department I believe Canada could benefit from, especially if we're attempting to open up immigration. By creating an immigration department we could set guidelines for admitting perspective citizens to prevent PTO and encourage citizen to assimilate.

-Your Predecessor Klop123 signed a Non Aggression Agreement with Spain giving them 100,000cc out of which tax payers had to pay 50,000 the rest coming from Klop123 and Chochi. We also gave them 4 Provinces to be held for zero rent for an undefined period of time. Do you agree that this was the best move for eCanada to make given the circumstances or would you of fought on if you were CP at the time?

-I think this was the best possible move at the time. We had been fighting the Spanish for eight months with no long term solution in sight until that deal was signed. I think it makes sense to honor this deal, but we should also keep our focus on eventually reclaiming all of our territories in the not too distant future.

-Do you have any intention of revisiting the NAP agreement with Spain in hopes of at least obtaining some sort of compensation for eCanadian regions held?

-I think revisiting the NAP this soon makes it look like Canada is not interested in honoring the agreement. I do think we need to reach out to Spain and remain in close contact, but at this time the NAP isn't going away anytime soon unless we want to go back to being wiped. Diplomacy will eventually lead to this being resolved.

-You’re big in the US but eCanada and the US have had its ups and downs in the past from Bro’s to enemies. Given your connections and how many friends we all have between our two nations do you see greater relations with the US happening any time soon, perhaps even sharing the same alliance?

-I would love to see the US and Canada have closer relations, but with the events that lead to our break up this will not be a quick process. I think in order for us to be better allies we need to focus on building a solid foundation for our newly freed nation. America and Canada will eventually be more friendly again if you catch my meaning 😉, but whether or not we end up in the same alliance will depend on what other relations we develop over the next couple of months.

-You’re the Commander of a very successful and generous International Military Unit called The Praetorian Guard and now CP of a very unmotivated and disheartened country, how do you plan to do both and why would you want to?

-I've found balancing both can be a bit difficult with as much time both jobs can take up in order to be effective, but I've been able to delegate a lot of the duties in PG to some of my wonderful officers. I can't go into too much detail at this time, but I have plans that involve both Canada and Praetorian Guard. As to why I would want to do both I love both Canada and Praetorian Guards. When I look at Praetorian guards I feel proud about what I have built, I know that several months done the road I will be able to look at Canada with the same pride.

-In your latest article you said this “I need your help in accomplishing my goals for eCanada. I need everyone to work together and put politics aside to ensure our whole nation thrives” The one good thing about being occupied by Spain was that attention was taken away from Party Politics and put on the occupation of Spain, more or less. I can hear the knives being sharpened already as we saw when Auk Rest tried to gain some points for his candidate while taking away some from the MDP’s by publishing private messages given to him by the CPF’s CP candidate, I can assure you that this is just the beginning as when Congress seats are at stake the gloves come off. How are you going to bring people together and overcome party politics so that your term is an effective one?

-I will try to be apolitical and encourage good relations by setting an good example. As was publish today by my Minister of Propaganda(http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mop-press-release-day-2119-2316214/1/20), Acacia Mason, I have set a code of conduct for all members of the Executive to ensure we act with the honor and integrity Canada deserves out of its leaders. I can not force people to be civil to each other, but I'm hoping that my example trickles down to the rest of the nation

-And finally is there anything else you would like to share with eCanada, maybe perhaps your obsession with the Department of Motor Vehicles which I assume is where your name comes from 😉

-DMV is actually what people called me in the eUS, it is a derivative of my original name which also happened to be my real life name. The 3 was added because user names need to be four characters long and it's my lucky number.

Great Tips for Beginners

- Join a Military Unit to take advantage of Daily Order rewards and seek help and supplies

- Join a political party and ask for help

- Save your gold to invest in training facilities

- Make lots of friends so that you can get info from shouts

- If your going to upgrade anything WAIT for the periodic deals like the 45% off company upgrade ect, ect.

- Make sure your in a Military Unit that provides supplies to fight and move

- Find enjoyment in game by interacting with others through the media, forums, shouts etc, and not even worrying about accomplishment in battle or business. These are crafted to be money sinks surely ending in disappointment.

- Don’t spend more in resources to accomplish eReps periodic missions then you get back in reward

- Do the math if you plan on hiring people and take tax’s into account, don’t lose money.

- eCanada is full of people willing to help out new players with food and weapons, start in MU’s and political party’s, grow your player network, use your feeds to ask for help.

- Upgrade your energy centers and training facilities, don’t waste gold on Energy bars and first aid packs.

- If you plan to spend real life money the best deal is the monthly Combat Stash

- Work, train and fight every day

- Don’t lose money chasing a Mercenary Medal as the reward is only 5 gold.
