I explained why I voted No in the voting thread but it was removed.
You have me accurately quoted up there Crisfire, but my concerns were never eleviated.
The only response to my concern was that "the proposal was put forth by Coolmanos"

That does not indicate that Tyrael himself would not have the funds sent to him, just that Coolmanos put the motion forward.

Had he said Coolmanos would be in charge of funding and that he would not be a part of the chain of custody of the funds, my vote would have been yes.

Hell if he says it now, I'll put the motion forward in congress.

His quote can be interpreted as either Coolmanos will be in charge of funding, or that he will take over as PP of the AFK......

Until we gain funding I will be personally handling the supply in order to shoulder the burden myself, if there's any doubt go ask any one of my fighting and active men.

Once that point arrives, Coolmanos is the person to handle supplies; until such a time arises that he feels no longer fit to carry out those duties, in which case I will designate another person to carry out that function, until such a time as I am no longer politically active in any role and can manage the funds myself.

With those kind of book keeping, the Night Watch definitively deserves to receive funding.

It's a shame that the current govt. denied a better supply and the fair share of tax to those active citizens, just because he don't agree with the political position of one of their leaders.

It's bad politic. It's with this attitude that we lost so much Canadian citizens in the last month and we ends up with a war against USA. USA, our longest time and most valuable ally.

We should still recall that MDP Congressmen were willing to fund the Night's Watch and, yes, personal feelings and political rivalries interrupted the "Yes" vote.

But it wasn't just about political rivalry. Tyrael leaked a private PM thread in his article, which he knew was a gambit move to see how the Coalition would respond. Moles take over our top party, boots legit. Congress candidates, moles leak private PM threads and a legit. MU doesn't get funding.

lol Treian, a RR/MDP members told me that he would like to join PAQ and be Congress candidate, but he didn't want to loose the 140 Q6 tanks and 500 Q5 food that RR/MDP give him each week as "activity reward"....

Dirty politics makes a mess of this place and makes eCanada look bad. I know some people won't stop it with the PTOs but really, we can try to avoid other conflicts that just get perpetuated down to the little guy.

Rylde also as Tyrael is doing now, kept the MU going on his own, and when he couldn't do it without gov funding was turned down his first request due to his political requirement.

All I asked was for the political factor in this to be removed, then I would support it.

Also Max.... if he really wanted to be in your political party, the free handouts wouldn't keep him away.....

So Tyrael getting MU support as a party leader is a conflict of interest, but Rylde getting MU support as the MDP CP of Canada is not a conflict of interest?

This is a sincere question that any understanding would be greatly appreciated. As from the outside, it would appear that both positions equate to a political factor. Unless a party leader has more authority then a CP, I find this confusing.

If Night's watch had funding, I would consider joining it, even though I don't agree with the AFK's political views. I just think he's a great guy for all he's doing, and he definitely deserves funding.

I think a tax hike should be discussed before adding another MU to the funding list. Also if Nightwatch could give the govt the number of actives in there unit and not just the membership total. So I can discuss with my MoF a good number for the tax increase.

Money doesn't come outta nowhere. If the people of the country want to fund this then we have to find the money for it.

Have we gained more soldiers from the time of previous tax increases that would warrant an additional tax increase, or have soldiers simply moved from different MUs? Curious if the pie should be cut differently before more pie is bought.

We have 31 members, and 31 are active. Not that it's important anyway.

I can't find the message now, but just a couple weeks ago, Tyrael removed all of the inactive members. Seeing as he's taken care of supplying the MU on his own, it would be to his benefit to remove the inactive members.

Like Foxfire said - split it up more evenly and tax increases won't be needed. It worked before so why not now?

Instead, consider discussing a way around your butthurt - the man deserves his share.

Just wanted to say I originally voted yes for funding but after Tyrael posted a PM thread in an article, I switched to no. The day the coalition gets an apology from Tyrael, is the day I switch my vote to yes.

I respect what he's done in a short time but my own personal stance is that "private" messages should stay private.

your in Congress and if we expect party's to keep military units at arms length then as a congressman you should keep your decision about funding a Military Unit at arms length to your opinion about a Party President of a rival party

I don't understand why are you arguing with Treian at all. He is just doing what he has been told and you know that he can't think on his own, even if he wants to.


Government sees AFK party as a threat so they will do anything to make that threat go away. If that means to take your supplies which rightfully belongs to any public MU, then that is exactly what they will do.

Tyrael wanted to play a game of real politik, using his mole to cast a bad light on the coalition (even though the thread was shown out of context) and he got burned for it. I do feel badly that so many obviously loyal and dedicated fighters are operating on reduced rations because of this, but if you want to play against the 1st Team, you'd better bring your A-game. Tyrael gambled and lost, now we can all move on.

K, it should not matter what the coalition thinks of tyreal, the fact of the matter is we are at war, and so far night's watch has put a good show on with the influence and kills we get, we are growing a lot and tyrael cannot afford to support us all with money from his own pocket, so can we please get the funding so we can help Canada win this war?

Why does the discussion seem like the question is "should we fund Tyrael or not"
The question is do you fund a military unit who obviously packs quite a good punch, its not a popularity contest.
