Countrymen,
What you are reading is true. I, Jhorlin, am announcing my bid to run for Country President in December 2010. After a myriad of military problems - ranging from run-ins with congress, to the recent invasion, it seems to me like what is needed at this point is a strong military leader to come in and make some changes. I feel that it is my turn to step up to the challenge, and to try to do my bit to rescue our fine country from the waves of foreign aggressors.
In order to do this, I will be looking to reform the way our military accountability works, by supporting the scrapping of the Armed Services Bill, and the reintroduction of the Minister of Defence from the Chief of the General Staff. The idea behind this is to make it clear, without legislation, that the MoD is the accountable head of the Armed Forces. With this in place, we can break loose the legislative shackles that are tying our military down and start operating at full effectiveness again. As a former leader of our military, I've nothing but the utmost respect and support for our guys on the ground, who do a fantastic job day in day out.
It is also my hope that the decision regarding MoD would be made free from partisan interference. It is for this reason that I am pleased to announce that, if elected, my Minister of Defence would be the incumbent Chief of the General Staff.
As far as the rest of my Cabinet design goes, I'd be looking for a fairly tried and tested structure, with a few tweaks.
Staple Ministries
I'll be looking to run a Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Home Affairs in a similar structure to they are now. I'll release further details in future manifestos, but these 3 departments would be responsible for the core operations of government. As I have said, I'd also look to include the Ministry of Defence in this inner circle, as one of the key players to helping restore our military pride.
Wider Cabinet
I'll also be looking to run the three following ministries:
-Ministry of Trade
-Ministry of Legislative Affairs
-Ministry of Recruitment
The keen readers will note that the Ministry of Profit no longer appears on this list. This month, Blaggard has been effectively doing both jobs, which has demonstrated to me that the Ministry of Trade is able to absorb such duties. Once more, I have some more detailled ideas which will become apparant in later publications.
I'd also seek to move recruitment out from MoHA and into a separate department. The Ministry of Recruitment would be responsible for attracting new players to the eUK, and it is my hope that giving this job the prestige of a Ministerial warrant demonstrates just how important getting fresh faces into the eUK is at this point.
Cabinet Secretary
During my numerous times sat in cabinet, I've always noted that the there is an invaluable asset to government, and accordingly I'd seek to also involve a Cabinet Secretary into my plans. My aim here would be to keep the entire populus (both in-game and forums) involved in what is happening within cabinet, as well as to manage government publications and collate cabinet reports.
As you will see, this Cabinet is tailored to the main purpose of streamlining government to try to give every support to our fine military. The Army has fought on, through overwhelming odds, and I think it's about time we gave them a break!
Deputy Prime Minister
I'm also hugely proud to announce that not only supporting my bid, but also prepared to run alongside me as Deputy Prime Minister, is none other than Daniel Thorrold. His reliability, expertise, and great knowledge of the many facets of government are invaluable, and I'm privileged to have his support. I have no doubt that he will help to keep me on the straight and narrow, and with his help, try to restore our national pride.

@McAfee01: I of course greatly respect Woldy, and found his article most interesting.
I've been mulling over this for some time, and discussion with various military minds say this could be the most acceptable compromise to give the military freedom back whilst maintaining the accountability that the ASB seeks.
This article has more votes than Jhorlin is going to get in the elections.
