My brothers in arms,

I am proud to fight along-side you, to defend our homes, to defend London - our glorious citadel. Stand fast, hold your ground, and let us continue to hold the ravaging hordes at bay. We will fight hard and we will fight clever, and come to reclaim the British soil that has been taken from us. Of course, in order to keep fighting, we have to look to keep our economy afloat, to keep the war machine rolling on. It is this grand design that I begin to unveil to you today.

Ministry of Home Affairs

Given the heavy burden that the nature of MoHA work entails, I take inspiration from past CPs and would seek to split MoHA into 2 divisions: culture, and education.

I envisage a culture division that continues to maintain the excellent work that the National Newspaper Association does - I believe this to be an invaluable tool to not only keep everybody involved in what's going on in this great country, but also to bring a smile to peoples faces, no matter what. I also picture such a division running far more entertainment than we've seen presently - keeping people involved, and having fun. I've had some really great ideas come forward for this so far, including weekly competitions for people who fight for the UK. Keep the ideas coming on this - it's always great to see some feedback.

I also see a second education division, centred around helping and guiding new players, as well as publicising any changes to gameplay that the admins decide to spring upon us. In the MoHA tutilage role, this division is responsible for talking to new players, explaining the game mechanics, and being a friend to help keep people in the game. It is my hope that this springboard would allow new players to immerse themselves into our community, and really feel welcomed. This division would also be responsible for maintaining the Wiki page, and keeping that up to date. I'll discuss my ideas for the gifting hub in the next article.

Ministry of Recruitment

We're fighting a difficult fight, and the one thing that will make all of the difference is the number of soldiers that we can deploy.

As I outlined in my previous article, I'd like to see an entire Ministry dedicated to the recruitment of new players. I feel that only by granting this crucial job this level of responsibility do we take it serious enough. I see the role of the Ministry of Recruitment as identifying potential external sources of new players, and exploiting those sources to bring new citizens into the game, specifically, into the eUK.

I'd also like to see the Ministry of Recruitment entertain the idea of prizes or awards for people who recruit a lot of their friends to join. Think of it as a government backed Society Builder.

Ministry of Legislative Affairs

I see much of what the MoLA does continuing - particularly mediating forum congress votes. I'd also like to see the monthly congress report actually happen, it seems previous Ministers have placed less of a priority on this. Aside from this, I also think it's important for the MoLA to produce a weekly report in-game, so that people can actually see what congress have been doing. I think it's important to remember that congress serves the population, and want to bring that closer to home.

I'd also like to see MoLA take a sharper interest in managing citizenship requests, most particularly with reference to our fine Army boys and girls who are often sent to fight abroad.

Cabinet Secretary

One of the most important roles I see for the Cabinet Secretary is to speak to every other minister in government, and organise the flow of government articles. My aim with this would be to keep important government articles in the top 5 whenever needed, but not to clog the media with them. My rule of thumb would be a maximum of 3 government articles (including MoD orders) in the top 5 at any one time. The Cabinet Secretary would also collate reports from all of the ministries so that it remains possible to keep an overview of what's going on in government.

The most exciting new role I see for the Cabinet Secretary would be the formation and running of a Shadow Cabinet. I'd like to set up a place for opposition to get involved in what's happening in government, and to suggest improvements as time goes by. It's an experimental idea which will help not only make best use of the wealth of expertise in the political sphere, but also to ensure that people are getting the best possible government at any given time.

To apply for a position in the Cabinet, please follow this link. Details are on the forums.

If you have an idea for government that you want to offer, please feel free to contact me by PM or on IRC. Let's fight back, and together, we can turn this country around.
