[Jhorlin] CP Manifesto #3 - The Sun Never Sets
Jhorlin
Countrymen,
As I have now published both of my domestic plans, I thought that with the UK battles going on, I probably ought to publish my military and foreign affairs ideas. I'll start by saying that with my experience as a previous Chief of the General Staff, I've been right to the top of the eUK military, so I understand the military side of things. I've been in Phoenix, our alliance HQ, firstly as a UK representative back in May, then as UK MoD, and finally returned as a Deputy for Dishmcds. All of this means that I have the experience to bring our regions back under control, and the determination to hold on to them.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
The MoFA will continue to operate in a similar manner to the way it currently does. With the MoFA co-ordinating our regional ambassadors, we are able to keep a presence on the international stage. The key to this is regular internal meetings to keep aprised of all foreign affairs. To this end, I'd be looking to my MoFA to be our expert on everything international. He or she will be my specialist advisor, to help guide our foreign policy.
I'd also expect regular updates in the press to keep an all informed population, but moreover, for the eUK to continue to hold international summits. Not only does this give the eUK an finger on the international pulse, but it also puts the UK in the spotlight, and raises our profile in the international community. At a time of domestic turmoil, this is more important than ever.
Phoenix
As I have mentioned, I have more experience in Phoenix than one could hope for in a CP candidate. This understanding of the organisation, coupled with the numerous high profile eUK (or former eUK) citizens in Phoenix now, gives us a unique opportunity to really integrate ourselves into the alliance. Given the wonderful support that PHX was able to lend to us in London, the key to our success has to be through co-operation. I will of course look to continue to promote this co-operation, and to support our allies where need be.
Minister of Legislative Affairs
Once again, this has been covered to some level. I would look to my MoLA to organise all citizenship requests. This means overseeing a committee within the House of Commons in order to fully research the background of each and every applicant, to minimise the risk of take-over attempts. This position will also closely link with our army commanders to ensure that returning soldiers are always granted citizenship quickly without having to wait around.
Defence of the Realm
As my structure suggested, I'll be looking to reintroduce the position of Minister of Defence, and gave some ideas as to why. What this means in a nutshell is that our military can move on from the shackles of bureaucracy, and look to operate freely.
Furthermore, I make one thing clear: if I am elected, I will not surrender London.
Frankly, it worries me that it took the entire military command and numerous citizen attempts to prevent our current leadership from doing so. I might add that my current opponent was also part of this, and wanted to go along with it before the public outcry. We need somebody strong enough to not only say what is right, but also to stand up and do what is right.
To this end, I will be looking to secure every rightful UK territory - at a time of economic change where the new regions are of paramount importance. That means, I will look to ensure UK dominance over:
-Northern Ireland
-Scotland
-North East of England
-North West of England
-Yorkshire and Humberside
-Wales
-West Midlands
-East Midlands
-East of England
-South West of England
-South East of England
-London
I've also discussed the possibility of region swaps for economic gain. This is no an easy feat, and depending what further changes the admins make, may not be economically viable on December 5th. However, I'll consider every military manoeuvre open to the eUK, including last resorts, prior to the actual occasion so the country is ready. The potential for furthering our economic position is there, and I would aim to harness that potential to a changing situation.
As far as the military goes, I would see as little government interference as possible. I am not arrogant enough to dictate how these military experts should organise themselves, I would much rather give them the freedom to operate and make their own decisions. Having said that, there are things that government can do to lighten the load. The most important of these is something I have already discusse😛
recruitment.
Keeping a strong intake of fighting soldiers into our Armed Forces is crucial to our success as a nation. Accordingly, I would see both the Ministry of Recruitment and the Ministry of Home Affairs advertise the army, through PM campaigns, Articles, imagery, shouts, and of course on the forums.
Cabinet applications will remain open for one more day, and I will announce my prospective cabinet prior to the elections on Sunday. We need to fight back for what is ours, for our pride. Stand with me - let's fight back, and together, we can turn this country around.

Keep fighting for our regions!
Fight hard and stand with Jhorlin, together we can make Britain great again!
So you will do what everyone else would do? Nothing even remotely new here.
Also: "As I have mentioned, I have more experience in Phoenix than one could hope for in a CP candidate."
Where does that leave Jamesw, Woldy, GlaDOS, all of whom had 5x more experience?
lol...Jhorlin would deserve to become CP purely for the effort he has put into these articles even if he wasn't the best candidate (which imo he is)
Good article
"I've also discussed the possibility of region swaps for economic gain. This is no an easy feat, and depending what further changes the admins make, may not be economically viable on December 5th. So this is your "brilliant idea." Not only that, but you're trying to use me as political ammunition to blame Kevy? Also, as I'm sure your great Phoenix knowledge will tell you, saying you will protect our regions, and actually protecting them, is something completely different. The regions were lost because there were higher priorities around; so you can guarantee that there will be no higher priorities at the time, right?
Not only does this article say nothing in some parts, it is palpably misleading (again) in others. I think a president should have the confidence to state what he is going to do, instead of creating a manifesto filled with things which don't apply, or can't be done. I mean, are you some sort of David Cameron emulator or something?
As far as I'm concerned, staying open to every option is a must-have for any CP. Frankly, if you're declaring yourself out then you don't adapt to a changing situation. I've never said I will region swap, but I've not said that I won't either. I'll keep the options open to suit the given situation at the time.
As far as Kevy goes, he said the right thing to you, but did not stand up and do the right thing. A CP needs to have that confidence to not only say what is right, but to do what is right. It took a kick from both military command AND private citizens such as myself to say "let's defend London" before he came out and said it.
As far as regions go, they might be easier to protect if we don't declare silly wars we can't win.
For somebody who thinks of himself as unpartisan, you aren't demonstrating it.
"For somebody who thinks of himself as unpartisan, you aren't demonstrating it."
pot kettle
also mudslinging much?
also you don't say that much
but I liked the pictures.

great article and a great candidate

Lies.
I took the decision to overturn jamesw's authority only after speaking to the CGS (CD) and the MoF (Thatcher). Both of them can confirm this as I was worried that we wouldn't have the funds to defend London. After getting confirmation from Thatcher that we would have enough cash for another #savelondon I spoke to CD and told him to order our military to defend London. Saying that I caved into pressure from the public + military is wrong. Jamesw has his reasons for what he said and when I was sure that defending London was an affordable option for the near future I made sure that my decision was made clear straight away.
Whether it was "affordable" or not, telling people not to fight was not the solution. Be careful of the use of the word "lies".
My reports from command suggest that you had caved and only when they pushed did you start to re-evaluate your position.
Given the new resources that have just been released, I'll also consider maximising our production regions by region swapping with our Allies, to ensure that the eUK is still able to stay competitive on the global market. Of course, this requires proactive military action to retake our regions, which I will discuss in far more detail in my next manifesto.

If this is how you plan to run your administration, then I'm pretty glad I'm voting for JvB. Be honest, or say nothing; don't speak in nothings to cover your true intentions.
I'm voting Jhorlin.
>my report from command
lol'd
jamesw read what you've quoted. I've said I'm keeping an open mind. I'd expect nothing else from a CP candidate.
You seem to have missed out a load of Irish regions in your regions list.
