London Calling: Information on the eUK's Situation.

Day 784, 08:04 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

London Calling.
Chipping in Where you can.
I'm so Bored with the U.S.A. (The Mildly interesting part)

London!

I quick look at eGobba's map will show you that, there's a lot of unfriendly (ugly) faces on our doorsteps. You may therefore be wondering, why it is that you are being asked to or (if you're a good boy) have already moved to London.

Fortunately for Poland, when they began their invasion they saw a huge baby-boom, which in Polish is,

Dziecko Iść Uderzyłam Uderzyłam
I don't know either..

The reason you're being asked to move, is all to do with the current war module, which focuses on something called a wall.

Firstly, it's worth mentioning the basic battle mechanics. We've seen a few recently, so I doubt many of you will be unfamiliar with this. A country, if it has a region bordering a neighbouring region of a country it has an open war with, can attack the said bordering region. Let's pick two at random, to give a short example. Maine, in the USA, borders Wales, part of the UK. So the USA, as it has an open war with us, can attack Wales.

From the moment the man pushing the attack buttons, (the CP) clicks on attack and pays the cost to open the battle, a 24 hour period of fighting begins. The Attackers hit the wall, and do damage to reduce it. The Defenders damage is added to the wall in order to defend it. Following the 24 hour period, if the value of the wall is below 0, it becomes occupied by the attacker, and they have the initiative for 24 hours, meaning that in this example we would not be able to attack the USA for 24 hours, they on the other hand would be able to attack us, and any region in the UK that borders Wales. We would however be able to attack other countries in other open wars.

However, the original value of the wall and the cost to attack are determined by the number of people living in the region. This is why we are moving our population to London, which a number of days ago had 299 people in it, and would have had a wall of approximately 3500, including the defense system, which as it's a Q5 adds increases the wall size by 50%.

Defending London above all else is not only neccessary as it's our capital, but it is also the location of the vast majority of the eUK's businesses. If London were to fall, so to would our economy. Currently, London borders no foreign hostiles. It is full of cockneys though.

However, due to the combined efforts of many people, and the arrival of friends from different countries, London now has almost 3200 people and is still rising. This creates a wall of around 48,000 which as you can see is a substantial increase. However, it could and must go higher so if you're not already in London get there as soon as possible (you can contact the eUK Home Office to request a ticket). The increased population also increases the cost to attack, meaning less money can be spent tanking the wall if the battle starts. From London, you can defend any eUK region that is attacked.

Chipping in.

To some extent, the eUK has entered a state of total war. If we are to go down, we shall do so fighting. We shall have fun. We are aware of the fact, that even if all of our land is taken, we won't cease to exist our military branches and community will never die.

It's also worth mentioning, that being invaded has a tendency to increase the size and strength of the victim country (unless you're Poland, where eveything is backwards and you cannot into space) so when we come out of it all, which we inevitably will, we will be a larger and stronger country, participating in the larger and stronger Phoenix alliance.

So, what can you, as an individual do to help;

1. Move to London!
Don't ask yourself is you should stay or if you should go. I'm here, let's party.

2. Join the Navy!
Sail the seas, and get supplied to fight abroad! Sign up on the hub at http://navy.nobreakspace.com/ or contact R.R. Napier to sign up. I expect all navy personnel in times of suspect war on original territories to be working in navy companies producing weapons to fight for our country! Don't train in Vain, make sure your damage is done where it's needed most.

3. Invite Friends to play!
You get money and medals for using your referral link, and if you don't want to ask your real friends for fear of being shamed out of your social strata, ask friends you've made on other strange internet games!

4. Stockpile Guns!
If you can - why not? In times of war keeping your own personal stock of guns is handy, especially if you haven't yet joined the navy. Alternatively, you can get on IRC or the forums and request your Tommy Gun from #eUKCivWeaps

5. Get on the forums and IRC!
Communication is also pretty important, and not only can these two simple methods get you started in a lavish eRep career, they can make the game on whole much more enjoyable. (#eUK @ irc.rizon.net http://forums.erepublik.co.uk)

6. VERY Importantly - Subscribe and vote official eUK articles and articles from genuine eUK'ers!
All articles from the eUK worth voting and subscribing to can be found in the NNA, who do a weekly news roundup. It's very important you do this to allow yourself and others to keep updated with important orders from the official MoD.

7. Stop Asking Questions
I jest, obviously. If you have any queries do not hesitate to ask any of our government or congress. Everyone is very happy to explain in detail any aspect of the game you may be having trouble with. Don't be shy, I like the company.

The U.S.A. (Obvious troll is obvious)

If you're a good eRep'er whose been around for a while you'll not remember this much spam/trolling/poorlywrittenarticles from the eUSA since we joined PEACE. However as a claimed invasion approaches us, they've decided begin writing articles in our media again. It's difficult to imagine what sort of kicks they get from writing this sort of thing, I imagine at the best of times they nurse a semi whilst publishing, but a lot of it is dribble, or slightly misinformed stories. It seems the US being the US has been holding evening classes for it's newer players so they can come over here and tell us why we're evil, when in the reality the source of our persecution is on the whole unknown to them.

A lot of what you read isn't completely accurate, or is exaggerated. Or written by people who plain just don't know. I could go voer the whole scenario over again and point out why Hungary isn't evil, why the eUS need to stop acting butt hurt and give the eUK's side of the story, but I've done that before and it's not nearly as fun as drawing parallels between the eUSA and the people they love to hate, eHungary.

The two biggest slurs the eUS like to use against the eUK are firstly, that we are Hungarian pawns. This always bugged me as there's only one kind of Pawn I like and it's not for playing chess with. Secondly, that we region swapped with Hungary so that they could attack the eUS, making us evil traitors, which in American is 'turncoat'.

So using eMerican logic if you block a country on behalf of another country, you are a pawn.
If Country x region swaps with country y and country y ends up bordered to country z, regardless of wether or not the border is used for anything country x becomes an evil turncoat slave of country y who are evil imperialists who must be stopped.

So with Canada blocking for the USA, and the USA rumoured to be attempting to persuade our allies Ireland into region swapping with them to open up even more US borders, is it safe to say that the USA is trying to be like their life long Idols, Hungary? (Can't blame them, Hungary is p awesome)

All thats left is for them to occupy one of Hungary's allies, and then most of Hungary itself.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!

What are you waiting for?
