I'll say it here: I am human, I don't have inner access to the inner workings of either alliance, so I could be wrong. If I'm not sure what is going on, I usually preface it with the word “guess” or “i don't know.” Anyway the disclaimer is over.

Despite my personal affiliations, I try my best to keep my analysis as neutral and unbiased as I can.

I've spoken briefly with Mainegreen, and he's given me permission to use his symbol list. I figure it makes the maps a little easier to look at to know what's going on. Here's the symbol map with a few changes I like.

Karnataka

With all these other players giving fantastic insight into the debate of Karnataka, giving my own two cents would be pointless.
The US president Harrison Richardson just released an article about Karnataka here negotiating a one week extension on the USA's lease. http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-us-in-an-update-on-karnataka-1393697/1/20
Sossu has an article here, http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/indian-president-wishes-karnataka-to-be-returned-my-thoughts-on-the-issue--1390522/1/20
Desertfalcon also wrote an article about the rented iron region here http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/the-karnataka-situation-1392108/1/20

The USA news is also dominated by presidential candidates. This election cycle it seems is full of candidates who have never been Country President (CP) before, but who are all well known in their perspective spears. Since it is my goal for this to be a international paper, I won't go into great detail here, but I think there will be having fresh blood in the form of Angelini, Chocolate McSkittles, KillingTime, Colin Lantrip, and Sir Valaro Volcrum can only be good.

Important Battles of Day 922
Poland moves land bridge through Norway

Two days ago, Poland land swapped territory into Sweden, and it looked like Poland was going to continue on into Norway. A couple of my viewers commentated that Poland might be renting Norway's High Oil. Poland, having no native high resource regions and containing the highest population in eRepublik has been desperate for something since they lost Rhone Alps and Berlin several weeks ago. However I think Norway would be reluctant to lease away it's one sole high region. In addition Poland has moved from Ostlandet into Sorlandet, not the high Oil region of Vestlandet, while RW Ostlandet back to Norway's hands.

On the other hand, it is possible Poland has made an agreement with Canada and/or the United States to rent regions in North America. Canada has two sources of high diamond (soon to be titanium in V2) Six sources of wood, and 3 sources of high grain. I'm not going to bother counting, but the USA has an excessive number of high grain, oil, and wood regions as well. Poland gaining access to even the common grain, oil and wood would be a boon to their economy. (look at how hard they fought to gain and hold onto Rhone Alps). Also by renting instead of holding occupied territory, they will have little fear of losing it, provided a long term lease agreement can be made.

The only downside to a lease between Poland and the USA is trust. A few months back relations between the USA and Poland hit an all time low, and was part of the reason the USA left EDEN. Relations have improved significantly since then, especially after Poland lost Rhone Alps, but many might still fear if a lease agreement were made between Poland and the USA that one country might not respect the other enough to keep to their side of the agreement.

Of course I'm all speaking of a hypothetical situation, and Poland's action through Norway might be a goal far closer to home. This is also all dependent on Poland single handily taking on the 9 nation MPP stack the UK maintains of virtually every Phoenix heavy hitter (of significant note Serbia, Hungary, Russia, and Brazil), as going through the UK's Scotland will be necessary to get into North America. Time will only tell.

Finally the UK's attack on Norway's Nordjylland has been repelled.

Hungary attacked Southern Bohemia, Slovakia, plans to attack Poland?

Hungary is slowly moving northwest, attacking Southern Bohemia, Slovakia. Just yesterday the Czech Republic moved the one region under their control from Southern Bohemia to Northern Bohemia, likely to make room for Hungary. Southern Bohemia borders Germany, and once this battle completes, it is likely Hungary will land swap through Germany and attack Mecklenburg with their 21 MPP, initiative locking Poland and potentially using Poland's land bridge to get some high resources of their own. After losing Heilongjiang, Hungary's economy has weakened significantly as the only high resource region they natively possess is grain.

Poland attack Slovakia and Hungary, Ukraine attack Poland

I thought I was done with my paper, and new battles have started 🙁

Poland attacks Eastern Slovakia. Slovakia retreats and Poland presses the advantage to attack Northern Hungary. These attacks serve little purpose on their own, except that now Hungary is initiate blocked and Poland has an open war with the UK (see above). Poland likely wanted this to prevent Hungary from attacking them in Mecklenburg. Things may have backfired however, with the typically neutral nation of Ukraine attacking Poland occupied Eastern Slovakia, initiative blocking Poland and preventing them from continuing their plans in north Europe for at least 24 hours. This gives the UK time to attack Poland in Sorlandet, slowing them down another 24 hours and giving the UK time to request Phoenix support.

India attacks Balochistan;Punjab, Pakistan; and Sindh, Serbia

With victory in Northwest Frontier Providence, India has stepped up it's attacks by moving against Pakistan's last territory, Balochistan, and by attacking Sindh, Serbia's west Asian colony. Due to their vast differences in size, it is impossible India will succeed in this attack unless a large EDEN force deploys to India, but India's motive in attacking Sindh is more likely to keep Serbia from countering their moves against Pakistan. The important battle against Pakistan will be in Punjab, their capital and home of their Q5 hospital. If Punjab falls it is quite likely Balochistan will follow, clearing Pakistan's war list with every country and serving as a moral victory for India.

An Mutual Protection Pact is currently being signed between Russia and Pakistan, but it won't get through for another hour, leaving Pakistan alone for the remaining two battles. This makes the currently open battles of Punjab and Balochistan critical to both India and Pakistan. If Pakistan falls it will be wiped out, but if India fails it can only attack again by triggering the Russian MPP.

Update
A few minutes after opening the battle with Sindh, India has retreated. Your guess is as good as mine as to why they attacked.

China conquers Luzon, Indonesia and Henan, Russia, RW in Tibet, Training War in North Korea

Both China's attack on Luzon and Henan were successful. With 24 hours to relax while they control initiative, China could continue attacking Indonesia occupied Philippines and RW the territories back to the original owners. Of course this is somewhat complicated by the Serbian PTO of the Philippine's congress.

China and it's massive MPP stack have conquered Helan, and it is expected that China will move onto Shandong before it loses initiative.

The Phoenix Training war of North Korea vs. Russia has begun again in Hwangae, and the resistance wars in Chongqing and Jiangxi have failed, while a new RW has started in Tibet.

Romania attacked Southern Basarabia, Moldova, Republic of Moldova

The training war between the Republic of Moldova and Romania has begun again.

Resistance war in Venezuelan Andean, Columbia

A resistance war has started in Venezuelan Andean. I'm honestly not sure how Columbia captured the region anyway, as the training war a few days ago had the wall at almost a million. Perhaps in the final minutes of the battle the president of Venezuela retreated the region. Honestly I'm not sure why he'd do this, as it would only slow down the frequency of their training wars and cost more gold.

With the loss of the Malaysia / Philippine training war, this South American training war might gain a greater MPP list. At least from what I read here in the Belgium press, they are desperate for battles and will seek to gain an MPP with Venezuela as soon as they can afford one to stop the hemorrhaging of citizens seeking battles. I don't doubt other small neutral nations are in a similar predicament.

So far these Sunday battles seem to be a warm up to some an interesting fight this evening or tomorrow. Sunday. With this edition I've played more with Drop Shadows to create a multi-colored attack arrow. I've also used drop shadows and glow effects with a bit more finesse (as well as shrinking icon sizes 33😵 to make clearly seen icons that don't smother the territory they are in.

I really like pict.com has an image hosting site. I only hope that web page isn't blocked by China's Great Firewall. If it is I'll continue my search for the ideal image site.
