[US/IN] An update on Karnataka

Day 922, 13:25 Published in India USA by Harrison Richardson
This is a joint address to both the Indian population, published in their media, and to my American subscribers.

Good evening, my friends:

Let me introduce myself. My name is Harrison Richardson, and since May 5th I have happily served as the President of the United States. We have twice tried to remove Serbia from your doorsteps in Liaoning (and we got very close the second time), and since then, we've been working with India to remove them in another region, Pakistan, as India and the rest of Asia continue to fight for freedom from the oppressive Serbian regime.

As you know, a week or so ago your President, Abhi, requested the return of Karnataka to India. Since then, there has been no official statement from anyone involved in my government regarding holding Karnataka against India's will. That much should be made absolutely clear. We have asked India to reconsider, because we feel that perhaps some of the vital issues involved in such a monumentous decision -- the increased PTO threat, the Serbian presence on your lands, etc -- were perhaps not addressed. We have continued to work with several Indian negotiators and we have had countless productive sessions in the past few days in which I can say great progress has been made on all fronts of the Karnataka deal.

If I may speak to my Indian brothers for a second, let me make a few things clear. One is that, if you read the thread on our forums, the United States has some citizens who think that it is wise to hold Karnataka against India's will. Let me state that these citizens in no way speak for our government and their insults of our Indian friends have not gone unnoticed nor unpunished, and said citizens have been talked to in private for the most part. I apologize for the abhorrent way in which a few of the US citizens have talked about your country and your citizens: please take my sincere apologies for their actions. Next, I would direct you to our forums (here) where you will find that the vast majority of American citizens are in favor of respecting India's wish to regain their region and are in favor of working with the Indian negotiators to see an amicable resolution to this end.

Today I am happy to announce that much headway has been made with Indian negotiators in the last few days and we have agreed to a one week extension of our current loan agreement, at the current pay, while we work on a resolution to this issue. The United States remains committed to a whole and free India, but we also wish to show to India that the United States, for the short term future, is best able to aid India while we possess Karnataka. Karnataka is not necessarily invaluable to us in the terms of the revenue it produces but in the cheap, domestic iron it produces. It doesn't make us money, it saves us money, and every penny it saves is another penny that we have to fight the Serbian oppressors in your native lands, just as we did when we helped to free India and just as we did today as we helped India assault Serbian-controlled Pakistani regions. Karnataka is vital to our ongoing assault against Phoenix; a fight in which we are so close to victory. Serbia remains as the last major Phoenix power to have colonial possessions in Asia. EDEN got Iran out and we got Hungary out, and now we are so close to getting Serbia out.

The United States will respect the wishes of the Indian people and government, and we hope we can continue to work with them to the most reasonable solution to this ongoing problem.

Signed

Harrison Richardson
President of the United States
