9 January 2009 - Jeollanam-do region secured by Japan . Bratislava and Western Slovakia released by Hungary to Slovakia through Resistance Wars.

13 January 2009 - Western Siberia secured by Russia
Turkey and Brazil signed a mutual protection pact with Germany
A resistance started in Far Eastern Russia (Norway) and Hovedstaden(Sweden).

14 January 2009 - Chile added in Erepublik.
The eRepublik Insider announces Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Serbia will be added on February 11.
The eRepublik Insider announces Taiwan will also be added to the game later in 2009.

19 January 2009 - eRepublik was shut down for two hours after the admins found that people had been using an exploit to make tens of thousands of Gold
Some users asked for a complete game reset. The Admins responded that this isn't a viable option and compared it to pressing the nuclear bomb button, which isn't fun at all.

18 February 2009 - Israel frees itself from Turkey in a resistance war in the Nazareth North District led by Benn Dover.

19 February 2009 - Greece frees itself from Turkey in a second successful resistance war against Turkey; the new capital of Greece is Thrace.

21 February 2009 - Belgium has gained its complete independence with the successful resistance war in Brussels.

24 February 2009 - Argentina regains its two conquered territories, Pampas and Patagonia from Indonesia. A peace treaty signed, bringing to an end one of the longest wars in eRepublik history four months after its beginning.

27 February 2009 - The USA declares war on Mexico.

28 February 2009 - Finland and Norway announce the beginning of their second military exercise, Anvil'09.

1 April 2009 - Romania-Iran War > Romania continues to fight today after conquering a lot of Iranian regions yesterday.
Romania and Pakistan > Pakistan is taken over. At the beginning of every battle started by Romania, they retreat. The last region of Pakistan is Hainan.
Croatia-Serbia War > Similar to Pakistan, Serbia is also taken over. They retreat or lose each battle in this war.
Hungary declares war on Germany > To break down the union between Austria and Germany, Hungary declares war on Germany and begins retaking German lands.

2 April 2009 - Romania-Iran war > Romania conquers Sichuan, and attacks Qinghai close to midnight.

Early this morning, Northern Hungary was taken by Romania from Poland. Subsequently, Hungary invades Northern Hungary, swapped by Romania, repeating what it attempted to do yesterday once more.
In the Eastern world, Sichuan, earlier taken by the Romanians from Iran, was attacked by Indonesia. At the end of the day, Romania had finished taking over Qinghai from Iran.
The resistance war in Upper Austria started by mappina succeeds, and the region is returned to Upper Austria. Shortly after, Marginaldefeat, Norwegian, starts a resistance war to liberate the West Siberian Region from Norway and return it to Russia. An attempt to liberate Baja is initiated once more, by istarlan, and MacEron begins an independence war in Hainan, a native region of China, now occupied by Pakistan.

4 April 2009 - All hell breaks loose on 03:00. Several lands were re-allocate😛 Poland takes Northern Hungary given by Romania. Guangxi, Guizhou, Chongqing and Sichuan, national provinces of China which had been occupied by Romania, were taken by Pakistan, with Romania retreating from those battles.
Subsequently, Hungary attempts to retake Northern Hungary from Poland, and Indonesia invades Sichuan, now a province of Pakistan.
Ukraine attacks Galicia, a province of Romania.
Austria declares war against Italy and invades Friuli-Venezia Giulia, but retreats immediately. The resistance war in Baja, a region of Mexico now occupied by the US, fails, while the resistance war in Hainan succeeds, and the Pakistan garrison is eradicated by Chinese forces.

5 April 2009 - As Hungary succeeds in retaking Northern Hungary from Poland, it moves on to attack Central Hungary, now occupied by Romania, although it has failed to take Galicia from Poland.
Success similarly comes to Indonesia as it successfully seizes Sichuan from Pakistan, and proceeds to attack Chongqing.
Western Siberia, formerly a part of Russia, has now fallen under Romanian hands as their armies remove the Norwegian occupation.
Poland attempts to take Galicia from Romania.

It's presidential election day! Presidential candidates of larger countries strive to win support from their populace; smaller countries, as always, face the threat of a political takeover. (Presidents - April 2009).

Carnage ensues in Belgium as the president, CreveRoeland, cedes the entire country to the Netherlands as part of a proposed union, allowing them to take Belgium's three regions: Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. This is reportedly to stop the Spanish Imperial Troopers, who had established a base in Belgium. He was impeached 10 minutes later; elections stop as the country has been fully occupied.

A similar event happens in Austria, as the president, Silent Bob, cedes Upper Austria, Tyrol and Salzburg to Italy. Italy declares that this is in the name of Austrian independence (translation at the end of the article), to "avoid any attempt of invasion and TO from German side". The plan was that "Austria will be independent in a region protected all around by PEACE countries. Styria". Austria now has three regions left - Carinthia, Lower Austria and Styria - which were not ceded, while Italy issues a call to arms to seize Lower Austria by force.

The Norwegian president who was by default President after KristofferAG's impeachment, Kenneth Viking, similarly cedes Moscow and Central Russia, Nord-Norge and Leningrad Oblast to Finland an hour before the day ends and the new president swears in office.

6 April 2009 - Indonesia successfully takes Chongqing from Pakistan early this morning, and Poland seizes Galicia from Romania.
Romania attacks Urals (Norway), North Caucasus (Norway), Guangxi (Pakistan), Guizhou (Pakistan) and Sichuan (Indonesia) simultaneously.
Italy finishes conquering Lower Austria as part of their plan to "protect Austria against German imperialism".
Another resistance war is started in Baja, this time by Mdeusa03.

7 April 2009 - Norway attempts to take back Moscow Region from Finland, which was earlier ceded to Finland, reportedly as part of a deal to stop enemy aggression by landblocking them.
Urals and North Caucasus are both conquered by Romania after the president of Norway retreats. Romania proceeds to attack Tibet and Sichuan, now held by Indonesia, while forcibly taking Guangxi and Guizhou from Pakistan. Romania, a member of ATLANTIS, continues to attack Norway, politically taken over by Hungary (a member of PEACE), by invading Volga Vyatka.
The US-Mexico training war continues as Baja is once again secured by USA.
Slovenia, seeking to divide the already battered Austria, attacks Carinthia.

The countries of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania are being created

8 April 2009 - The Norwegian invasion of Finland's Moscow Region, which has inspired one of the current most voted newspaper articles and much debate, fails.
Russia joins Romania in the invasion of Volga-Vyatka Region, a part of Norway. Norway swaps the region over to Russia as Romania retreats from the battle in frustration.
Romania moves into Indonesian territory as it attacks Jammu and Kashmir, later conquering Sichuan from Indonesia.
Slovenia successfully conquers Carinthia from Austria, leaving it with only one region, Styria.
Portugal-controlled Oaxaca faces a resistance uprising by Sirdias.
Croatia attacks Southern Serbia, a part of Serbia, in a preplanned training war between the two nations.
Another resistance war begins in Baja as part of the military training between US and Mexico.

9 April 2009 - China becomes aggressive as it attacks South Korea by invading and seizing Gyeonggi-do.
Tóth TamÃ& starts a resistance war in Bukovina for Ukraine against Romania.
Hungary seizes Eastern Slovakia from Poland, and a resistance war, started by Han Solo, to return it to Slovakia begins immediately; Hungary also invades Central Hungary, a part of Romania.
The Hungary-led country of Norway continues to attack Finland by invading Nord-Norge.
Oaxaca is successfully liberated from Portugal and returned to Mexico.
Romania succeeds in taking Jammu and Kashmir from Indonesia.

10 April 2009 - The resistance war in Bukovina fails and it remains under Romanian control. Immediately, samu126 starts a resistance war in Dnipro, once again held by Romania, to return it to Ukraine.
Hungary retakes Central Hungary from Romania.
Nord-Norge was held successfully by Finland against the Norwegian attack, which is followed immediately by a Swedish attack.
Having successfully taken Jammu and Kashmir, Romania moves on to attack North-West Frontier Province, a native region of the recently defeated Pakistan.
Eastern Slovakia was held by Hungary against rebellion forces.
The US-Mexico training war continues with another resistance war in Baja, this time started by Ogdensign.
Serbia cedes Southern Serbia to Bulgaria.

Spidering was declared as a bannable offence. Due to this, eGobba's world map and many other utilities that require information from the site can only be updated by hand until new features are implemented.

11 April 2009 - Dnipro remains under Romanian control as it secures North-West Frontier Province from Indonesia, moving on to Punjab.
Resistance wars start in Dnipro, Balochistan and German-speaking area.
Bulgaria successfully takes Sumadija from Serbia.
Another session of the US training war in Baja ends, a region ceded by Mexico temporarily for US training war purposes.

12 April 2009 - The resistance wars in Punjab, Dnipro, Balochistan and German-speaking area all fail, but the one at Balochistan begins again. A resistance war also begins in Sumadija.
Romania attacks North-West Frontier Province once more.

13 April 2009 - Having successfully taken North-West Frontier Province, Romania moves on to attack Indonesia's Punjab and Balochistan together.
A deal struck between Bulgaria and Serbia allows Croatia to retake Sumadija through a resistance war.
Hungarian and American training wars begin in Burgenland and Baja.
The resistance war in Balochistan fails, while one at Zaporozhia begins.

"Empress Day"

On the night of April 13, 2009, a group of Congress and non-congress member of Japan decided to have a joke on Japan and HIZUMI, as the emperor talk was becoming absurd and foolish. Since many people did not have very happy thought about new formation of HIZUMI's fictional empire, which had no connection with actual government of eJapan, a little joke were planned out in the small group in the eJapan IRC to appoint someone HIZUMI disagreed with the most, for the emperor/empress position of Japan for 24 hours just for the joke. It was originally planned for a small confusion for a little laugh, but with some other major event and paranoia added with HIZUMI's action to try to gain the International attention, not only did it evolve it into crisis, but confusing day filled with conflict, drama, and rash decisions. Of course this event was just trial for the actual Emperor/empress situation, it turned out worser than most had envisioned and lead to eventual chaos. This day is known to many as "Pull Prank on HIZUMI" Day, Empress Day, Oraizan Day, etc. This was also Official birth of Otaku Monarchial Republic of Japan (OMR),[1] which fell 24 hours later.

14 April 2009 - The resistance wars in Burgenland, Baja and Zaporozhia all fail. Resistance wars start in Macedonia, Beersheba South District and Jeollabuk-do.
Romania conquers both Balochistan and Punjab, territories which were yesterday still Indonesian; Iran launches a counter-attack on Balochistan.

15 April 2009 - Party president elections held.
Romania moves on to attack Sindh in its continued war against Indonesia, having secured Balochistan against the attack of Iran.
Another resistance in Zaporozhia fails.

16 April 2009 - The US war games in Baja continues.
The resistance war in Chongqing to return it to China from Indonesia fails, while one starts at Chhattisgarh to return it to India from Indonesia.
Having conquered Sindh, Romania moves on in its war against Indonesia by attacking Gujarat.
Don Agung, president of Indonesia, has been impeached, perhaps as a result of the war.
Slovenia starts war games with Austria and Brazil.

17 April 2009 - Slovenia ends 1st battle of war games with Austria and Brazil.
Pakistan succeeds in retaking Balochistan from Romania, thus re-creating the country with 23 citizens. Ukraine attacks Maramures of Romania, while Romania moves on to attack Gujarat.
The resistance war in Chhattisgarh fails.
Spain attacks Sardinia, Italy in a bold move (The Spanish National Defense Ministery claims that this is not "4 teh lulz", but for honor) while Poland attacks Eastern Slovakia, occupied by Hungary.

18 April 2009 - A counter-attack begins on Romania as Indonesia attacks both Qinghai and Tibet, while Russia attacks Urals.
Ukraine fails to take Maramures from Romania, and a new resistance begins in Zaporozhia, a former territory of Ukraine now under Romanian control.

19 April 2009 - While Romania succeeds in securing Urals from Russia's attack, it loses both Tibet and Qinghai to Indonesia, the latter of which has caused complaints. Indonesia continues its attack by invading Sichuan.

20 April 2009 - The resistance war in Zaporozhia fails once more, and one begins in Jammu and Kashmir, which Romania wishes to free for Pakistan.
Indonesia continues the attack on Romania by invading Gujarat, having failed to take Sichuan.

21 April 2009 - Having failed to take Gujarat, Indonesia changes the field of battle by attacking Gansu instead.
Jammu and Kashmir is successfully ceded by Romania to Pakistan.
Pakistan, the former PEACE member, forms an alliance with Romania.

22 April 2009 - Failing again to take Gansu, Indonesia once again invades Gujarat, continuing the long war between the two countries.

23 April 2009 - Romania cedes North Caucasus to Russia while it attacks Maharashtra of Indonesia.
Thailand and Serbia officially become members of PEACE GC.

The April updates, announced here, are implemented on this day. Changes include: changes to interface to help new citizens; changes to the war module to prevent region swapping; various bug fixes, including promises to fix the notorious gold exploit soon, and other changes to improve the player experience. A ticketing system was also implemented.

24 April 2009 - Having secured Gujarat, Romania seizes Maharashtra from Indonesia and attacks Qinghai, while China and Russia attack Jiangsu and both Eastern Siberia and Urals respectively; Russia, in particular, has managed to seize North Caucasus.
A resistance war in Inner Mongolia begins.

25 April 2009 - Romania successfully conquers Qinghai from Indonesia, and successfully holds several regions: Urals and Eastern Siberia from Russia, Jiangsu from China, and Inner Mongolia from resistance forces. Russia once again attacks Urals.

26 April 2009 - China attacks Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu, held by Romania, while Russia fails to take Urals once more from Romania.

27 April 2009 - Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu are returned to China from Romania, and China proceeds to take Eastern Siberia and Shanxi.
Russia unrelentingly attacks Urals, held by Romania, once more.

28 April 2009 - Having failed to take Urals from Romania, Russia attacks it again, and also Central Black Earth simultaneously.
Similarly, China seeks to take Eastern Siberia again after failing to take both this region and Shanxi.
Romania successfully takes Andhra Pradesh from Indonesia.

29 April 2009 - A resistance war in the Hungary-controlled Burgenland has been quashed, while one in Subcarpathia begins. China attacks Jammu and Kashmir, controlled by Pakistan.
East Slovakia is liberated from Ukraine.
Pakistan takes Northern India from Indonesia, which Iran attacks again, while Indonesia attacks Andhra Pradesh of Romania.
Resistance war in Eastern Cape begins once more as the war games in Baja continue.
Brazil attacks South East Chaco of Argentina and retreats immediately, then takes Northern Cape from Indonesia, proceeding to attack Eastern Cape.
Russia fails to take Urals and Central Black Earth from Romania.

30 April 2009 - A resistance war in the Romania-controlled region of Urals starts, as China attacks Eastern Siberia again. Indonesia seizes Andhra Pradesh back from Romania and Hungary attacks Bukovina, controlled by Romania. Indonesia proceeds to attack Maharashtra, now controlled by Romania.
Hungary takes Galicia from Poland and proceeds to attack Volhyia, while the resistance war in Burgenland fails.
Pakistan successfully guards Jammu and Kashmir from China, while Shaanxi remains controlled by Romania against China.
Brazil attacks and takes Eastern Cape from Indonesia, and moves on to attack KwaZulu-Natal. South Africa attacks the region at the same time after declaring war on Indonesia.
USA attacks The Azores, a region of Portugal, and retreats immediately as a feint.
The resistance war in Subcarpathia to return it to Pakistan from Iran fails, while Iran takes Northern India from Pakistan. A resistance war in KwaZulu-Natal begins.
Austria seeks to take back Carinthia from Slovenia
Thailand fails to take Peninsular Malaysia from Malaysia in their war.
