Preface
Why is this guide here?

Before the release of this guide, even before the day I was born in eRepublik, numerous wonderful guides were written about fighting basics, healing and wellness management, etc. However, I decided to work on this specific guide for non-military civilian fighters with following emphasis and goals:

1. DoD Orders, a MUST for all fighters;

2. A graphic walkthrough of Battlefield and other fighting related pages;

3. A collection of useful guides, tools, and newspapers about fighting and strategy;

4. A bigger sense of participation for all citizens who wants to fight.

Part I
10 Basic Facts / Rules about Fighting

1. DoD Orders is the official publication about where and when and how you should fight. Subscribe it and read it everyday BEFORE you fight;

2. You can start fighting when you reach Level 5;

3. Each fight will decrease your Wellness by 10;

4. You can't fight if your Wellness is below 40;

5. You can ONLY heal once a day AFTER you fight on that day. You'll get 50 Wellness per heal if you live in a state / region with 5-star (Q5) Hospital. Right now, Florida is the only Q5 Hospital state in eUSA;

6. You can live in one state / region and fight in another state / region without traveling, you can also work in any state / region of the same country without traveling, but you can't use the hospital if you are not in that state. So, move to Florida if you want to maximize your contribution to our national defense;

7. Each fight will give you 2 Experience Points;

8. You can fight WITHOUT weapons;

9. Each weapon can only be used ONCE. It will vanish from your inventory after you click Fight. If you have multiple quality levels (number of stars) of weapons, the highest level weapon will vanish first. Use them wisely;

10. Each battle lasts 24 hours by default. An hour in eRepublik equals to an hour in real life. However, the battle will automatically go overtime if the region is neither Secured nor Conquered at the end of 24 hours.

Part II
Fighting Walkthrough

Preparation:

1. If your Wellness is above 41, Train first. It will increase your Strength so you will deal bigger damage each time you fight;

2. If your Wellness is full or above 90, and you can afford a Q1 Weapon, buy one before you fight. Having a weapon to fight with your best Wellness is very cost-effective;

3. Calculate how many times you should fight for the day, don't get screwed by mis-clicking. Except for the first day of fighting after you reached Level 5, STOP fighting when your Wellness is below or at 50. You should heal when your Wellness dropped to a number between 40 and 50.

Step 1: Check your DoD Orders. If you haven't subscribed it yet, do so.

* The owner of this newspaper should be "Department of Defense, USA". Don't fall into enemy traps of DoD Order imposture.

* The "Subscribe" button is on the top right corner of the article. If you subscribed to this paper already, the button will change into "Unsubscribe".

Step 2: Go to the Battlefield according to the order.

Step 3: If DoD Orders said something about a numerical goal, check the "wall" before you fight.

* The white number with red background is above the "Secure" line in "No Man's Land", the above image shows the "wall" is above 18K. If the battle clock counts down to 00:00:00 at this time, the Defensive side (green) will win.

* The white number with red background is below the "Conquer" line in "Underground", the above image shows the "wall" is under -195K. If the battle clock counts down to 00:00:00 at this time, the Offensive side (red) will win.

Step 4: Read your Fighting Result page carefully before you click "Fight Again", don't over-fight and screw your Wellness.

Step 5: Click "Back to battlefield" (see above) and then the "Hospital" link to find your hospital when your Wellness is between 40 and 50.

* Now, the Battlefield page has the link to Hospital. It only appears after you fight.

* This page can also be accessed from your Profile -> your State. The "Heal" button only appears when you are able to heal.

Step 6: Click "Heal" (see above) to get healed, and that's the end of daily fighting. Do NOT fight unless the DoD Orders tells you to do otherwise (see the guide about fighting in berserker mode).

Part III
DoD Orders: IT'S A MUST and EVERY BIT COUNTS

This is the third time I emphasize DoD Orders to all of you.

Be advise😛 our country is at war with PEACE, a hostile alliance of warmongers. Each of the big countries of PEACE, eIndonesia, eHungary, eRussia, etc. is having equivalent population to ours and perhaps more Gold to throw into this war. Although we have a strong, dedicated group of eUSA Military and many allied countries, our country cannot win this war without the participation and cooperation from the majority of its population. That means you, eAmerican Citizens. That's what DoD Orders is for, and that's why the orders are titled as "DoD Citizen Orders".

Not long ago, our situation was desperate; we were down to only 2 states. Then, we turned the tide, regained almost 40 states and our initiative to attack. However, on Sep. 11, 2009, eRep Day 661, a crucial battle was fought for retaking New Jersey: win it, we would keep our initiative to continue attacking; lose it, we would be force to fight on defense or even lose the whole war. Due to the "tag team" approach played by eRussia and eColombia, our citizens were unfortunately distracted into many other defensive battles, hundreds of thousands of damage points were wasted and we lost the battle in New Jersey. The current situation is that we are on defense again, and we should all learn from our own mistakes.

Our enemies are tricky and "rich". They are trying every method they could to distract us from fighting the right battle at the right time, including fake ads, propaganda and DoD Orders imposture. So, remember: fight smart, fight together, and we will win; otherwise, we lose.

Part IV
Strategic Tips on Daily Fighting

1. Timing: Read the battle clock. Do NOT fight any battle within the first 6 hours after the battle starts.

* The battle clock in the circle shows that the battle lasted for about 18 hours and it will end in about 6 hours, so it is OK for you to fight here. If this clock reads greater than 18:00:00 (18 hours to the end of the battle), don't fight.

A "Withdraw" option is available to the president of both sides within the first 6 hours. It is a common tactic to withdraw in order to maneuver and maintain initiative. So, your damage could be wasted if you fought in the first 6 hours.

2. Max your damage with your limited budget.

Training before fighting is a good idea.

If you have budget for one weapon a day, use it when your Wellness is full or above 90.

If you have budget for 10 gifts, give it to yourself right after your fight with maxed Wellness, so you can do maxed Wellness fight twice that day.

3. Remember, each weapon can only be used once.

For the best ROI (or damage per cost), do NOT buy any weapon higher than Q1. Fighting twice with Q1 weapon deals more damage than fighting once with Q2 weapon.

4. Your fighting damage is a product of the following elements: Strength, Wellness, Weapon Quality, and Rank.

You'll get your Strength by Training, and Rank by accumulating total damage points. In your earliest days of fighting, it is encouraged to use at least 1 Q1 weapon a day so you deal significantly more damage and build up your Rank quickly.

5. Be proactive, keep learning.

The more you know about war mechanics, the more you know about the war from a bigger perspective, the more you'll feel involved, and that will make your eRepublik life way more interesting than 2 or 7 clicks a day.

Part V
FAQ

Q: My state does not have a Q5 Hospital, and I can't afford a Moving Ticket to Florida...
A: Contact Flying Unicorn Squadron, send them a message and explain your situation, you will get a free Moving Ticket later.

Q: I'm Level 5 now, but my Wellness is below 40. I can't fight...
A: Contact Welcoming Committee, send them a message and explain your situation, you will get some free gifts to boost your Wellness back to 40.

Q: I accidentally fight more than I should, my Wellness is below 40 and I can't heal anymore...
A: See above, and try not to make this mistake again.

Q: I can afford gifts, and I want to boost my Wellness. How do I use gifts to myself?
A: If you have an Organization account, this is easy. Donate your gifts to your Organization and have your Organization to "gift" it back to you. However, if you don't, you will need a gifting partner. Welcoming Committee can do this job, donate your gifts to them and they will "gift" it back to you. Keep in mind that this may not be done instantly, you may have to wait for a while.

Q: My home state does not have a Q5 Hospital, but I want to live in my home state...
A: I'm sorry. We all love our home states, but in this game, Q5 Hospital is a very expensive asset that needs to be deployed strategically and it takes congress votes to deploy. So, please adapt, and maximize your contribution to our country by moving to the Q5 Hospital state.

Q: My home state is under attack! I don't want my home state fall into enemies' hands...
A: None of us do. We just have to follow DoD Orders to best utilize our damage points. Our ultimate goal is to restore each and every of our states. We need everyone's participation, cooperation and dedication to achieve that goal.

Q: What is "Berserker Mode"? When should I fight in that way?
A: In short, "Berserker Mode" is to fight as many times as you can in one battle, using best food you can afford, Q1 Weapons and at least 10 gifts, but not Wellness Packs that costs 2 Gold. An average citizen can fight 15 to 20 times when started with full Wellness and loaded with sufficient food and gifts. You should ONLY fight in "Berserker Mode" when DoD Orders tells you so. For more information, see here.

Q: What is "Tanking"? Should I tank?
A: "Tanking" is the most expensive way of fighting, it requires high Strength, high Military Rank, massive amount of Gold to buy Wellness Packs and high quality Weapons so one can repeat dealing the super damage for many many times. For average citizens, it is NOT even possible and it is NOT suggested. Your Gold should be used in more cost-effective ways. If you are interested to have a better idea about it, read this.

Q: What is a "2-clicker"?
A: Good question! "2-clickers" are the most powerful players in this game! (You're right, I am joking. LOL) Seriously, "2-clicker" is an eRepublik term for new players, inactive players and sometimes retired players. Basically, what they do everyday is just Working and Training (that's 2-clicking). Right now, "2-clickers" formed the majority of eUSA population, and maybe in other eCountries as well. It is my wish to help as many "2-clickers" as I can to find the real joy and excitement of this game. If you could help me to reach as many "2-clickers" as possible by introducing them this guide, I'd be deeply appreciated.

Q: What else can I do to help our country's war against PEACE?
A: There are actually a lot you can do. Log on our national forum: eUSforum.com and join the discussions, you will see a lot of ideas there. You can help spreading the DoD Orders from shout box, message your friends to keep them attentive and involved, donate small amount of Gold to our 1st Armored Division to help our elite tanking force, last but not the least, help spreading this guide to other people who might need it.

Q: What about Resistance War? How come I didn't see anything about it?
A: I didn't get chance to fight in any Resistance War myself yet, so I don't have any screenshot or first hand experience to include. I'll add this part to the guide in future. Sorry for now.

Q: I have other questions...
A: Feel free to ask.
