1st Regular Session of the Seventh Congress
Republic of the Philippines
4 September 2009

This is my report to the people. It's been almost one month since the last presidential elections. Where are we now? And where are we going?

..::The Military::..

August has been a truly exciting month for our military!

Operation Pig Mac

For the better part of last month, the Philippine Marine Corps and the Philippine Navy fought side by side with our PEACE allies in prolonged deployments in Operation Pic Mac, PEACE GC's North American military campaign, and other related campaigns. These operations gave our expeditionary forces opportunity to rank up and grow in power daily.

Though, these operations eventually took their toll on our weapons supplies, and, as such, we've had to recall major deployments abroad, some of our fighters still remain in trenches overseas, continuing the fight.

Operation Kimchi, Operation Tonkatsu 2 and Other Deployments

Recent conflicts in the Asia-Pacific have tested the speed and mobility of our Marine and Navy strike forces, and have soldered our relations with our Sol allies.

Our Marines and Navy have proved themselves not only capable of being deployed anywhere in the world for surgical "hit and run" strikes with a window of less than 24 hours, but also of intervening in overseas political crises to prevent hostile takeovers and preserve stability in our immediate diplomatic neighborhood.

In Operation Kimchi, our expeditionary forces came to the aid of the South Korean government in attempting to avert a political takeover. Sadly, the PTO group prevailed and our ally Japan was forced to re-annex South Korea to neutralize the threat.

But, just yesterday, the PTO group has resurfaced and has incited a resistance war in the Korean peninsula. Our Marines were quick to assist our Sol and PEACE allies in Operation Tonkatsu 2, and the rebellion has been more or less quieted.***

All this and more has been made possible by our brave and dedicated soldiers, and our competent, flexible and innovative leaders in the Department of National Defense and in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Sol War Games

At home, the Philippine Army and its Special Operations Command, and even the civilian population, have enjoyed regularly-scheduled Sol alliance war games with Malaysia, Australia, China and Singapore. And, now, more recently, Italy, Slovakia and South Africa.

This has resulted in closer relations between our countries, as well as stronger militaries for all participating countries.

AFP Work 4 Weapons Program

The AFP Work 4 Weapons Program earlier mentioned is now in place. We have eight participating companies in two countries.

While many have signed up, we are still looking for many more workers to fill up the vacant posts. Contact the Philippine Defense department today to join or ask for info.

Automation and Reform of the Armed Forces

Similar to the newly reformed and "automated" Department of Home Affairs, the Armed Forces of the Philippines has also undergone several reforms, technological or otherwise, last month in an effort to make it easier, faster, and more efficient for our skilled military commanders to get things done.

We now have as many as eight military-dedicated orgs that can be used as supply lines by the military. This has dramatically increased the rate at which we can respond to weapons and supply requests.

We also have adopted new procedures, new rules, new command structures, new Google forms, and new spreadsheets that make it easier for our able military commanders to organize and manage our troops.

ePhilippines Orders Script

In addition, our talented programmers in the Philippine Information Agency created the official ePhilippines Orders Greasemonkey script specifically for military use.

The ePhilippines Orders script is an innovative way of delivering military orders, instructions and information straight to your eRepublik Home Page. It is the most advanced and sophisticated script of its kind in eRepublik. Bar none!

If you haven't downloaded it already, you should. Check the related article for more info.

Military Web Site Project

Currently being developed in the labs of the Philippine Information Agency is a brand-new web site solely dedicated to the military and its personnel.

With this new and improved system, we will be able to do away with annoying activity tests. Soon, your commanders will be able to track your movements, your progress, your activity and your personal stats automatically.

With this new web site, our soldiers can easily request for equipment as well as gain access to information through secure channels.

The web site will be able automatically alert our commanders about new sign-ups and transfers to their units, troops attaining new ranks or exceeding damage requirements, and a host of other relevant information.

A new era of science and innovation is upon us. We may very well be on our way to being one of the most technologically superior military forces in the face of the ePlanet. And we have much to thank our brilliant military leaders, thinkers and programmers for that.

...to be continued,
