In my last article, we discussed the importance of a bigger active population and how we can attract old and new players to come live in ePhilippines.
Now, we will discuss how, once they have arrived, we can keep them playing here longer through education reform.
What's it like to be a new player
Most first-time players in eRepublik arrive in the eWorld with absolutely no inkling of what to do next.
Basic, fundamental, everyday concepts such as how to eat, how to find a job, how to work, how to train, essentially the ABCs of eRepublik, are totally lost on them. Therefore, they lose interest only a few minutes after signing up and leave the game... forever.
What should be done
I propose a shift in focus in our education system to player retention: making new players feel at home by heartily welcoming them and encouraging them to hang on by teaching them the basics of eating, working, training, etc.
I propose either the creation of an "elementary school" within the framework of our Department of Education (DepEd) to oversee educational needs of new players, or the integration of such a concept with our existing Philippine Military Academy.
I will also charge DepEd with the responsibility of carefully tailoring the New Citizen Message every so often for maximum seductive impact and optimal player retention potential.
Other Functions of DepEd
Of course, this does not mean that we will neglect the education department's other functions, such as archiving and instruction of advanced studies. But, rather, that player retention should be the foremost objective of the education system.
In my next article, we will discuss my ultimate plan to supercharge the Philippine economy.

I think the complimentary pictures derail the intent of the articles. XD
I was just thinking about the New Citizen message today, wondering what it read. "Maximum seductive impact" is also very nice.
