Official White House Press Release (#67): Stand Ready to Block Red Coats

Sampai Jumpa(Goodbye), Indonesia; Hello, Redcoats!

After several quiet days on the world’s stage, things started to heat up five days ago. First, Indonesia decided that it wanted to reclaim a high iron region for itself, and so it set its sights on Peru’s Great Andes region. The Indonesians had a viable launching point for their campaign thanks to their control of western South African regions which border South America. Their plan was to region swap through Argentina and arrive at Peru’s southern borders. The only problem was that South Africa would be able to initiative block them. So, they decided to preempt South Africa by attacking first. At the same time, they gave Argentina one of their two South African regions. This made the battle between South Africa and Indonesia a do-or-die battle. If Indonesia won, it could continue unmolested into South America and would stand a good chance of capturing the Peruvian iron region. If South Africa won, Indonesia would be expelled from their last foreign territory holdings and would be effectively rendered a minor power. Thanks to the combined effort of the EDEN tanks, EDEN members’ military, and South Africa’s finest, Indonesia is a threat no more.

A few days later, the United Kingdom once again squirmed out of the initiative-blocking effort maintained by Spain, Sweden, and Canada. Seizing the opportunity, the British attacked Spanish-held Lower Normandy and somehow they succeed in capturing the region. Growing tired of the hearing about the cesspool of a nation, President Jewitt decided it’s time to get his war on.

President Jewitt region swapped the US into position and executed a blocking attack on the British at Lower Normandy. Because the region is originally French, he was even able to do so without activating any MPPs. Many shouts of glee ensued as Americans finally could shoot redcoats. Due to an unfortunate series of bugs in eRepublik, however, the UK managed to retain the region. Nevertheless, as President Jewitt has announced, we as a nation must stand ready to block redcoats!

The White House would also like to congratulate Rheinlander von Phalz for winning the election for Speaker of the House. He has done tremendous work for us in the Executive Branch, and we know he’ll do the same in Congress.

Unfortunately, not all was not well on election night. Roughly nine states saw suspicious, unsanctioned candidates enter the race at the last minute, indicating that the US faced a dangerous and well-planned political take over attempt. Thanks to the coordinated effort of the five major political parties, several legitimate candidates were protected.

Sadly, not every candidate could be saved, and the US now has blight in Congress. Esmond_Gr, Amilcar Demetrio, Kardos bela, lora devis, ukkuz are all under varying degrees of suspicion of being foreign agents. While Congress cannot remove the Senators in-game, the Senate leadership has agreed to refuse the suspects access to the Congressional forums, where much of the debate and voting takes place.



Three Candidates Announce Presidential Candidacies

President Jewitt, observing the traditional two-term Presidential limit, has declined to run for a third term. Vice-President PigInZen, however, has announced his intention to run for the office, and he has picked Emmanuel Cruise as his running mate. Former President Josh Frost has also announced, picking Max McFarland2 as his partner. Most recently, Joe Newton has thrown his hat into the ring, and he added James Strife to his ticket. We encourage every citizen to read the candidate’s platforms and think carefully before voting. Best of luck gentlemen, and may the best candidate win!


No word yet on what animal is next to run for President.



The Army Opens A New Division!

The United States Army has announced that they are opening a new division, the 25th Tropic Lightning Division. The division will be led by Brigadier General George Armstrong Custer, and the platoon commanding officers are: Lt. Harrisonson Richardson, former President and former US Airborne member, Lt. Purple_Rain, former Army XO, Lt. Bluh, former Army XO, and Lt. Zheng He, former Army Corporal. The Army is always looking for new motivated, enthusiastic recruits, and you can go here to sign up. You must have at least 9 strength and a minimum in-game rank of Captain to join.





Training Corps Recruiting!

If you don’t meet the requirements to join the Army or are looking for a different experience, you should seriously considering joining the United States Training Corps. The “TC” provides players with an education on the fundamentals of military life, and participation is a sure way to help you when you apply for other positions in the military.
