The second part is about the importance for a new player to choose a Q1 company

Since day 848, a New player begin with 100 in wellness

To make a good start, a new citizen must make a good choice for his first work. It is very important to begin with in a Q1 company.

In erepublik, there is 5 qualities of companies (whatever the sector)

A job in a Q1 company will make lose you 1 wellness point
A job in a Q2 company will make lose you 2 wellness points
A job in a Q5 company will make lose you 5 wellness points

This is a good example of good first job

This example is taken in Bolivia. Hopefully, I haven't seen that kind of company at the moment that I wrote the article.

Explanations
As I said before, The green star show the quality of the company.
You lose as many wellness points as the quality of the company
You lose 1 wellness point when you train

So, A citizen who works in a Q1 company and train will loose everyday 2 wellness points
A citizen who works in a Q5 company and train will loose everyday 6 wellness points.

Since day 848, the hospital heal only damages of the battlefield. To regain wellness points who you lose in work, you must buy a food from a good quality
Well, with the wage that a Q5 company will propose to a new citizen, he will be unable to buy a good quality of food to fill the loss especially if he has no good quality house.

Look these examples

A new citizen who works in a Q5 company and buy everyday a Q3 food.

Now, a new citizen who works in a Q1 company and buy everyday a Q2 food

If you work everyday, during 10 days: Your skill will be +/- 2,5.
If you work everyday, during 16 days: Your skill will be 3.
If you work everyday, during 36 days: Your skill will be 4.

At skill 3: if you work in a Q1 company : You will be able to buy a Q3 food everyday

TIPS :

- Sign in a Q1 company (with one green star).
Whatever the wage : Never sign as your first job in a Q3, Q4 or Q5 Company, You will receive a better wage in a Q1 company with 90 in wellness than a Q4 or Q5 with 60 in wellness
- Try to stay in a Q1 company, once you have skill 3 or 4.

- You can ask Gifts to the British Gifting Hub
To ask Gifts : You can request to be gifted once four basic requirements are met:
1: Between level 3 and level 12
2: Wellness is between 30 and 74
3: Has not been gifted through the gifting scheme before
4: Works in a Q1 company, or agrees to move to a Q1 company as soon as possible

- You can also ask Q3 food for free at The Unity food programme if :
1: You are between Lvl 5 and level 16
2: You have UK citizenship
3: You work in a Q1 company
