Life on your own; A Resistance to Change.

Day 677, 00:52 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Change.

An alteration or modification ,The act of making or becoming different

Historically, people do not like change. “What the ... does that mean?” you may be asking yourself. What I mean is, that people often resist change. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. However, I firmly believe that we should embrace change. Doing so can only be progressive. After all, if a change is made and things go topsy turvy, in a flash we can return them too how they were. In RL, it may not happen in a flash, but here on eRep, it can. So surely, we should encourage new ideas, try new schemes. If it doesn’t go to plan, simply change it back.

However, some consideration has to be put in. This is why we have the Public discussion area of the forums. All manner of people are welcome to come and pitch your ideas to politics, the military, and all things eRep, like the dragons den. However, like the dragons den, some ideas can be shouted down, and people mocked. Well, don’t let these mocking monkeys put you off! What the eUK needs is new forum users to come and give ideas. To begin to contribute, and to get involved on the forums. It helps us grow, it helps us proceed.

eRepublik does have its own wiki, (you can search for me on there) and it’s a great tool to use should you ever have any queries on how the game works. If you want to propose something to public discussion, it is highly worth your time to read up on the facts you can find on the wiki. So lets say you’re a budding economist, and you think a few changes here and there could help the country, read up on the wiki first to find out if it’s possible in game. Following that, take your idea to PD. Following that, you may end up with a job in the MoF.

Going around in circles?

“Woldy, you’re rambling. What’s your point?” Well then, it won’t be news to you that recently, the house of lords was abolished. Phwoar, what a change. So, perhaps we should wait a short while; see how we get along without them? It sounds good if you ask me. I recently proposed a committee be established, to advise with the production of legislation and teach newer congressmen the ropes.

Unfortunately, the naysayers (I thank Karacticus for reminding me that word exists the other day) shouted it down, saying it was practically the same as the HoL. In my opinion it was largely different, but on hindsight, it was proposed too soon. Way too soon, in fact. I now feel that we should sit back for a while, and see how the HoC goes with its dependence. Should it not go so well then I will reintroduce my bill as an alternative to the HoL, as it will surely be proposed that the HoL be re-established. After all, it does ensure there is an advisory body but also removes the aspects that people were not happy with. Until then, I shall have to save it in a folder somewhere.

But hang on, the HoL has already been re-proposed. Days after it was abolished. I can safely say that reintroducing it at this point would be silly. To the congressmen who will be voting on the issue, just remember this; If it doesn’t work out well, we can consider reintroducing it at a later date. For now, just try a little dependence.

P.S, I love you

Again I find myself thanking the
great people of the East Midlands. You have voted me into congress again, and for this I am thankful. As you expect I shall continue to do a great job representing you in the House of Commons.

Remember, if you ever want to voice your opinion, don’t be shy and drop me a PM. The same goes for people looking for any sort of help, feel free to ask. Remember, on the forums we’re running the East Midlands council, and doing a sterling job too. Check out the council’s org, the East Midlands assembly.

Oh, and as I promised in my manifesto, the Best is Yet to Come.
