Join the new world

Yesterday I published the first part of GTKYC eGermany (Lern deinen Kongressabgeordneten kennen).
What can I say, a series that does pretty good in Canada made an awesome start in the old world.
There are some pretty interesting differences in the answers, but I will write about them another time. Let's start getting to know our Congressmen, shall we?

7 In Canada, 1 in the US...all for Manitoba

Do you have or had any other offices?
4 terms as Auditor General of Canada

What brings you to Canadian politics?
The need to bring honest discussion and accountability to the government

Could you decribe your political agenda in short?
I have no political agenda other than to do the best for all eCanadians and to represent the great province of Manitoba.

Why did you join CSD?
I joined CSD because a few of their original members helped me out when i first joined the game. Their help was the reason that I try to help new citizens as much as I can.

What do you like most about being in congress?
I like being able to discuss issues and see the opinions of others.

If there is one thing you could change in eCanada, what would it be?
I would try to change the amount of two-clicking citizens and increase our population of active citizens.

If there is one thing you could change in eRepublik, what would it be?
I would change several aspects of the economic module, starting with minimizing the blackmarket.

Why should we re-elect you?
You should re-elect me because I believe in working with all canadians for the improvement of our nation. In addition, I am an active player who participates in most aspects of the game from the Reserve to running multiple companies.

What brings you to Canadian politics?
I enjoy being partly responsible for steering the direction of eCanada towards a better future for all Canadians, and representing my constituents in those matters.

Could you decribe your political agenda in short?
Can't really describe it shortly. (Have you seen my Congressional Presentation? That was about as short as it gets.) Basically, my goals are to improve eCanada where possible and keep us the number one country in the world.

Why did you join DAL?
I joined the Democratic Action League because they helped my out when I was a new citizen to Canada. That is something that DAL has always made their top priority and Canada is a better place because of it.

What do you like most about being in congress?
I enjoy being partly responsible for steering the direction of eCanada towards a better future for all Canadians, and representing my constituents in those matters.

If there is one thing you could change in eCanada, what would it be?
I would change the way we analyze and adjust our economic parameters, including the value of the CAD, to base them on economic results rather than guessing.

If there is one thing you could change in eRepublik, what would it be?
There are many things I would change in eRepublik.

Most favourite book/movie/series/band/sport:
My most favorite movie is Citizen Kane. A true classic and one of the best movies in history in all aspects of film.

Where do you live in RL?
La Prairie (Quebec), just South of Montreal

How many terms did you serve in Congress?
four

Do you have or had any other offices?
I was Deputy Minister of Heritage and Official Languages working with Eldorino, then I held the Minister position during two terms in the Jacobi cabinet.

What brings you to Canadian politics?
The lack of Quebec politicians in Congress when I joined the game. The PNQ was falling apart back then so I thought the province needed a federalist representative. My first election was a great success, getting 45 votes (1st in my province and 3rd national), so I was hooked and kept running since.

Could you decribe your political agenda in short?
I focus on regional issues before anything else, even if such projects don't get noticed as much. I promote communications in the two official languages and pay close attention to the requests of various provinces (for small hospitals, among others). Recently I became frustrated with the way citizenship requests were being processed so I worked on an extensive reform that was implemented during my previous two terms.

Why did you join CSD?
On my first election, I was a member of the Advancement Party of Canada and I decided to run at the last minute. I found out that only the top 5 parties could run candidates, so I looked for a top 5 party in a hurry and came across Nosyt who ended up being incredibly supportive. The values of the party matched mine fairly well and I found no reason to leave the CSD ever since.

What do you like most about being in congress?
I admit that getting insider information behind closed doors is a nice benefit. I like being involved in discussions with other politicians, even if I spend more time reading than actually talking. I like to think that the small proposals we make together help the country make progress and win battles.

If there is one thing you could change in eCanada, what would it be?
The interface is still clunky and buggy. I can't believe no improvement has been made to the citizenship approval page since its introduction. Also, captchas should be made less restrictive; supplying 100+ soldiers shouldn't have to be such a tedious experience.

Most favourite book/movie/series/band/sport:
Books: I'm currently halfway through the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. I also love Donna Tartt and Dan Simmons.
Movies: I have a young boy so I don't get to go to the theater very often anymore. But I still enjoy a good horror, fantasy or indie movie once in a while.
TV Shows: I'm a big fan of Doctor Who, having seen more serials than I should. I also watch Lost, Fringe and Weeds.
Ban😛 I'm a huge fan of Sonic Youth, and saw them a couple of times live. I like garage rock, hard rock, a little of punk, and don't mind other genres once in a while.
Sport: I was a fan of the Quebec Nordiques (particularly Peter Stastny and Joe Sakic) but lost a little interest in hockey when they moved. I still watch a game once in a while, mostly during the playoffs.

Why should we re-elect you?
I have a lot of experience, both in-game (6+ months) and in real-life (37 years). I'm a team-player, I manage to keep a cool head at all time, avoid getting into useless conflicts and remain loyal to the persons in charge of the administration. I make sure every month that the time I spent in Congress was not wasted. I do a little something every week (voting doesn't count) and make sure I have a list of achievements to publish at the end of the term.

What brings you to Canadian politics?
Too much traveling in the CAF.
Too much money in companies.

Politics is just bossing people around, something ANYONE can do 😛

Could you decribe your political agenda in short?
Basically, the new DAL Platform. That stuff is a good read! 😛

Why did you join DAL?
I joined the DAL because many of my friends were in that party and because I enjoyed the company of all those in it. I also really liked the fact that the DAL supports many of the same ideas that I do.

What do you like most about being in congress?
GOLD I tell ye! GOOOOOOLLD!!!

If there is one thing you could change in eCanada, what would it be?
I would like to see some communication between parties!

If there is one thing you could change in eRepublik, what would it be?
Probably giving Party Presidents trophies... and 5 Gold... GOOOOLLD!

Why should we re-elect you?
I want to help eCanada anyway I can, and the best way to do that is in congress, where some crazy decisions are made. And I kinda gotta be in congress to help eCanada.
