Fissures in Phoenix, Liaoning Falls

The Lion King Falls
Despite the best efforts of China and the Sol Alliance, with what support EDEN could spare, to save Xinjiang and high-iron Liaoning from Russian conquest, the two regions fell to Phoenix control. The attack was launched as Chinese leaders were in negotiations with Hungarian and Russian leaders over a possible ceasefire and an end to the war, the brazen invasion catching all off-guard. As Phoenix secures its position in China, it is likely that Serbia will continue its advancement into Asia and makes its way towards the newly-acquired territories to establish a fortress in the far east.
As Phoenix sought to fortify its position in Asia and also remove Karnataka from eUSA control, EDEN forces invaded and conquered Northern Brazil, stripping the valuable region from the Phoenix power that had long been a thorn to nations like South Africa and Australia. The attacks yesterday slowed down the Allied advancement in the United Kingdom, but American leaders remain committed to seeing it through to the end and wiping out that nation.
As for why it is so necessary now to completely eliminate the United Kingdom and not retreat from the invasion, it is due to MPPs. By attacking the United Kingdom and unlocking all of their MPPs against the United States, if we were to retreat it would keep us open for an MPP-backed British invasion; this same predicament in part led to our near-destruction months ago. If the United Kingdom is wiped out, their MPPs are wiped out, and the United States can retreat from the island with the revenge properly taken, experience and lulz had, and no MPPs to fear being chased back with.
Fissures in Phoenix
The foreign policy of the Phoenix Alliance has led to some problems for their global image. Their ruthless attack on eChina has turned many of the non-aligned nations of Asia completely against them, and has even made it likely that China, which has long held onto neutrality even under occupation, will press to join EDEN. Though Japan and the nations of Sol proudly maintain their independence from EDEN and like to continually remind the world that they operate outside of EDEN and independently, that alliance, its various member states suffering repeated aggressions, is now no-doubt opposed to Phoenix and is actively working, with Japan, to expel them from China.
Now, though, there are some internal fissures in the alliance. The official newspaper of Phoenix recently submitted a public letter to the government of Iran criticizing the government for its inaction in helping the alliance in its goal of global conquest. Amusingly, the letter states that Phoenix nations are obligated to help each other when the member nations come under attack, and then criticizes Iran for not assisting in the invasion of Liaoning.
With the high-handedness of this "First Warning" from the Phoenix leadership, Iranians have naturally become unamused. For a brief RL side-track (I will note that I've broken into RL news four times now, and three of the four have been on this issue), many citizens of RL Iran are currently in a struggle against censorship and a corruption of the rule of law, and the RL government of Iran has consistently responded by blacking out the media-- blocking TV signals and shutting off the internet. This has led to Iranian players being unable to access the game from time-to-time. Today and tomorrow, there are huge demonstrations in RL Iran and this had led to unprecedented blocking of media communications this whole past week, leaving many Iranian players unable to regularly access the game. Coupled with this, the eIranian off-site webforums are apparently under DDoS attacks lately, and eRep sucked yesterday with the headless chicken running rampant. So, eIran's lack of participation in the subjugation of eChina has earned the eIranian government an official warning from the Phoenix overlords.
(Ed.- I understand that are some internal issues in EDEN right now, particularly with the current president of Romania, and then this whole Austria thing. I am not writing this based off of preference; I merely am not knowledgeable enough of the situation to write on it. In case you aren't aware yet, this newspaper is anything but expert in European affairs).
Speaking of Austria, the terrorist organization known as S.E.E.S. has declared a crusade against Austria in retaliation for the treatment of the Japanese ambassador. Meanwhile, a former Austrian president has proposed impeachment of the current Austrian president in response to this foreign policy debacle that the war between EDEN and Phoenix has forced the tiny nation into.
In other news, it is becoming more and more likely that eIreland will be breaking its near-permanent neutrality soon. There is constant pressure lately among the Irish to become involved in a war and finally pick a side. One of Ireland's primary foreign policy objectives is the uniting of North Ireland with Ireland. Prominent eIrishman patton has said that Ireland should side with the United Kingdom and help fend off the invasion, and work out a deal to have Northern Ireland returned to them. In an interview, GLaDOS says that Northern Ireland will forever remain British. So, we'll see where the public dialogue in Ireland falls. They have been on good terms for a long time with the United States and EDEN, but also have generally good relations with the United Kingdom. Hopefully they pick a side and join in on the fun soon!
----Update---
The Irish are declaring war on Norway and will most likely invade Northern Ireland, currently occupied by Norway, this weekend.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOO!
Lol, but seriously: It's interesting how at the same time Asia is turning against Phoenix, the smaller nations of Europe are getting fed up with EDEN (see: Austria and Belgium).

Fantastic! Great read to catch up on what has been going on.
I seriously hope China will not submit to EDEN. I understand that alliance has done some good for them, but I maintain the absolute necessity of Asian people solving Asian problems. With China, the east has some hope of gaining some respect and authority in the world. If they become EDEN vassals, that hope will have all but died.
The eUS and her EDEN allies has done more for eChina than eJapan did. And what they did do, (Allow the US in to eChina) they did against the will of the public and the president was unceremoniously booted at the very next opportunity. eChina and eIndia need reliable friends who stick with them, not neighbors who call themselves friends in good times, then can't be seen in bad. Can you tell, that I'm offended by the disdain and ethno-centrism in Reiji's post.
For note to some, you don't have to be Asian to be a good friend to an Asian country. What you do have to do is decide whether you are on eChina's side or PHOENIX's side. Until eJapan can do that, the eJapanese have nothing honorable to say about the efforts of EDEN and the eUS on behalf of eChina or what your ever disdainful paranoia terms our interest in there. WE wish eChina to be our FRIENDS not our vassals.
Or eIreland could help us out and EDEN could give them North Ireland in appreciation!
Should China join EDEN?
Thanks for the great article!
Should eChina join Eden x2

hehe maybe eIran can tell off Phoenix. Now that they aren't imperialist conquerers (for the moment), I think some reparations and apologies could see them join Sol? 🙂
"Vassal" does not equal "member state".
"Vassal" does not equal "member state".
