My View on the War

Ireland has done enough sitting around on our ass. Not once in our history have we actually been to a real war. The closet we ever got was helping the Greeks beat out the Turks. But now we have the chance to change that Ireland.
Across the Irish Sea sits our neighbor and ally the United Kingdom. Everyday they fight against a horde of EDEN soldiers while we sit and do nothing. We havent made a move to attack or defend them. What kind of a country are we that we just sit out of a war raging on all sides ? Are you afraid Ireland ?
To tell you the truth Ireland I have wavered between both sides but, now I believe that it would be best for Ireland if we came out in support of the UK and at the very least deployed the IDF into London. In addition Ireland what do you think of our new Norwegian neighbors ? I say this isnt there island and we should kick them the hell out of it.
Lets finally do something worth doing Ireland

I agree with the takeover of Northern Ireland. It would finally give us something to rally behind, not to mention the benefits we would recieve by having a new region.
Plus Im sure if we help out the Brits that might be able to make some kind of deal about NI.

I love the way eIreland is WAY too conservative. The majority of people leaving comments want to take Northern Ireland despite the cost, especially now that it's under Norwegian control and wouldn't damage our relationship with the UK, and yet, it's not gonna happen. People will just whinge about it and nothing will get done

To patton: I'm not sure why you'd prefer (and call a friend) one occupier over the other... UK or Norway, it's not under Irish control and that's not right in my book. 😛

The Princess personally does not care either way about supporting/attacking the eUK. She does think N. Ireland should be ours, though.

As a current resident of Australia, and former resident of Ireland, I say you should support eUK. They are being overrun. It is time that the Irish people help to defend their friends to the east, and do the honourable thing. Patton is right on for this one.
Except for a certain MPP we signed with the eUS. Sorry Patton, but neither will happen right now.
It would be simple to work out a deal with the Norwegians. What attachment do they have to it? They just want to harm the UK. I'm sure we could offer incentives to keep a resistance war from being to hard to fight.
So, two of my favorite warriors in game are apparently in disagreement.

Talfryn - Any MPP we have with the US plays no part in this. If we attacked Norway in NI it wouldnt trigger the MPP

I've been thinking this for a while. But now that Norway has taken it, it seems much more plausible.
What about the eUS though? Should we move to aid the eUK, it would be like stabbing them in the back. That will be twice that they've been "betrayed" by seeming friends from across the pond.
I think we're a bit tied on moving to defend the eUK. We've already made a decision. Even if it's do-able in-game, it would be extremely dishonourable to fight against the eUS right after signing an MPP with them.
It's to late for us. As much as it pains me to say it, we are honour-bound to stay out of the liberation of the eUK. At least until the eUS is finished with them.
Thanks Patton. I believe going to London is the right thing to do also - we might make a deal for N.Ireland. At the very least deploy the troops. What's the downside? Angering the USA or another country and they invade? Maybe then all of Ireland will have something to finally rally around!

The move to make right now would be to take NI from Norway and see what the response is. The MPP with the US helps protect our shores if things go sour as a result.

The decision was made by your government already. You're not going to be doing anything.
You had 2 choices: Align yourselves with the UK, get your hands dirty in the world war - getting fights every day & honouring the comradeship with the British Isles.
OR Align with the US, effectively castrating Ireland and removing it from the world theatre for the time being; you can't aid your british friends without pissing off your newly-declared daddy, and you can't attack the eUK without disastrous consequences.
If you ask me, the guys up top weren't thinking straight. You're going to be sitting on your ass for the near-future whether you like it or not.
I don't agree with helping London or making a deal because the UK have been known to stab people in the back. If we sided against EDEN and the UK decided not to uphold some deal we would be well and truly snookered.
I do agree that we should kick the Norweigians out of Northern Ireland and mind NI for the UK for the foreseeable future.

Everytone the power's that be in the E-UK are asked about N.Ireland they say the same thing. It is theirs, ALot of e-Irish believe it is ours, we'll never agree on this so the best thing to do
Attack N. Ireland, taking it from Norway. Then in the medium term look at ways we can help the e-UK defend itself or rebuilt itself.
That is what good smart neighbours do.

I don't take too well to being told how to act, by an American upstart, in regards to my country.
I don't care how many Media Mogul awards Astra gets because she's sponsored by the eUSA government. She has no business commenting on eIrish affairs whilst lambasting the comments of ELECTED IRISH.

Ok Patton you may not know how much it costs to declare war do you? it is around 1000 Odd Gold to declare war and you wish to blow every penny on one war that doesn't make a difference? yes the Norway MPP with USA expires in 4 days and what if they sign another MPP again?
Also I support eUK as our friends but I am not in favour of paying this war out of own pockets. Deployments is better option to be honest more cheaper.
We cannot take and hold NI militarily ......we can however do it by political means... I think sending IDF units to London is part of this.

IDF move forward! 😛 In my opinion helping UK would be good idea, on the other hand we should look at countries which are fighting with UK- are we strong enough to defend our teritory ???
I agree with the majority here - war with Norway and take NI - its a win-win as we get another region, are seen to help the UK and can rightfully keep it (as we should have in the real world!)
My question is this: how strong in Norway and can we successfully take them without a big strikeback ?
