EDEN Manifesto

This is a continuation of my previous article in which I was expressing my disaproval with the EDEN HQ and CPs regarding the Turkish matter. I won`t spend to much time with it. As a short resume, the way Turkey was invited to join our brotherhood was a spat in the face to all EDEN members who had to go through a serious trial in order to join, and a slap to some EDEN members (especially Bulgaria, Greece and Israel) who have RL and in-game issues with this country. If EDEN members can`t trust their own alliance not to betray them then something is rotten, and not necesarily in Denmark.

The point of this article is reform. As surprising as this sounds, this move which is shacking EDEN from it`s core might be the best chance (and maybe the only one we get) to change EDEN from bottom up. This crisis can be the best thing which happened to EDEN because now we can clean the past and start anew.

Stupefiying the masses

In the previous article I tapped onto how Turkey is not EDEN material and how thy don`t belong here. That is still a big problem, but not the biggest. Our problem is the decision factors from EDEN who didn`t give a sh!t about what the people want and just followed their agenda. I was saying how one influential EDEN tank supported by 3-4 people from the EDEN HQ or graviting in the area have made a decision in the name of 14 eWorld countries without even previously asking them. I don`t know how would you call such a politic system, some might call it dictatorship. I call it noobism.

After they forcefully shove Turkey down our throats they started with the pro-Turkish propaganda feeding us statements like "this way we don`t spend any RL money" to which I can only LOL. Nobody forced you to spend RL money in an online games in the first place. Use your brains and find better lies if you want to stupefy the masses. Or even better, tell them the truth: "We want to win at all costs!"

So the main reason why we are in this hole, why so many EDEN citizens are feeling estranged now, and now there`s internal turmoil inside our brother countries Bulgaria and Israel, is simply because of how this alliance is ruled. We have an EDEN HQ formed by a few people: an SC, an MC and a few trainees, an EO, a PR, an ISD - all of them elected by EDEN CPs and a few Advisers which don`t change. Even elected, the HQ members many times remain the same, probably changing positions between themselves.
Even the so-called elections are not all the time for real. It`s enough for an influential EDEN person to start talking to the CPs to vote the candidate he wants.

Sometimes the CPs have no idea what is going on. Othertimes some CPs don`t even represent the will of the countries they represent because they won fraudulently. Some of them are completely noobs who don`t even know what EDEN is. What can EDEN tradition and history mean to a CP who is new ingame anyway? In this conditions it`s easy to have all CPs acting like a flock of sheep and electing the SC and the HQ as they are instructed to do and not the candidate who presents the best program.

So now you know how elections for HQ take place. It`s not hard to generalize a bit and apply it to how Turkey was brought in EDEN. Same thing happened in this case as well. The few who wanted Turkey in EDEN at all costs talked to each CP and convinced him of the advantages (or, more like the advantage because I don`t see anyother but the extra damage). Summit came, CPs voted like a flock in unanimity and the rest is history.

There`s a saying in my language, "fish goes bad from the head". So if we want to keep our EDEN, to survive and prosper, we need to change the way this alliance is ruled.

I left the EDEN HQ in the same night Turkey was invited to enter "trial". I been in the EDEN HQ from the start of November, the beginning of Octavius Julius`s mandate. I only came back in there because I knew OJ is a man of his word and a reformist.
However I been in the HQ last spring-summer for like 2 months as well. Back then I left for another reason, an inactive SC (Iaswn) and a half-dead HQ. Reforms were needed but there was nobody to do them and in case you actually opened your mouth to come with suggestions, the SC would make sure nothing gets done. You can read more on it here.
Why am I boring you will all that? Because I would like not only to say how the current EDEN leadership structure is a failure but also with an idea of how EDEN can be restructured. If it`s a good idea or not, that is up to you to decide:

Reform

The over-state will have 1 Government and a number of Ministries.
On the 5th of the month, each country elects a new president. That president comes with a team: MoFA, MOD, Economics, Administration, etc. What we do is take ALL of the respective country`s ministers and give them a place as representatives in the EDEN Government.
The EDEN Government will have a number of Ministries according to what is needed in today`s New World. Each Ministry will be formed by the 14 national Representatives.
The Representatives elect a Minister. The elected Ministers will then take a seat in the Central Government.
Ministries will decide in the matters relevant to their domain. Ministry of War` Minister and Representatives will decide on the daily military strategy and so on.
Central Government will decide on more important matters which involve more than one domain. For example, Ministry of War can send the EDEN Army to fight somewhere but the finances required will be provided by the Ministry of Economics.
The EDEN HQ will remain as an administrative force, Police of EDEN, if you must, to make sure that rules are respected and that the structure is successful. In the future, it`s entire role can be rediscussed and even have it completely dissolved.

😁 200 days old ideas but which can represent a new beginning for EDEN. Of course I`m not saying there aren`t other ideas even better than this one so feel free to think things through and come with your suggestions. And afterwards talk to your Country President & government and demand that they change things in EDEN. Dont let a few influential players take decisions in your place. To make mistakes is human. For as long as one person will decide on a whole field of activity there will be error. For less error we need more people to think things through and take decisions.

The Turkish matter

Last article I said I have a big problem with Turkey and their dirty past and that for me they represent a stain on EDEN logo. This was provoked by the highly unethical mode in which they were invited in EDEN, with the infamous "one month trial" which breaks all EDEN past rules.
For me the only way this action can be "redeemed" is to have Turkey follow the same trail all the other EDEN countries did. A one month of normalizing relations with EDEN countries followed by 3 months in our branch - GEA and THEN full members of EDEN. That would be the respectful way to do it. That would show Turkey wants to be in EDEN and not that they came here just to fight ONE, or like many Turks commented lately "business is business". For hardcore EDEN soldiers, EDEN is not just "dirty business". If you want a brotherhood then follow all the steps in order to prove you are worth of EDEN. If not, be gone. I myself don`t give a rat`s ass about your extra damage or how you going to limit some tank`s credit card expenses. I care about the alliance born 2 years ago and I don`t want to see it close it`s eyes any time soon.

So my suggestion for all EDEN citizens and their country representatives is this: Because the damage has been done and Turkey was invited for this month trial, rename it in "normalizing" the relationship EDEN - Turkey, then let Turkey do the 3 months trial membership in GEA, like every other country interested in joining our alliance. In the end, even the toughest hardcore anti-Turkish EDEN citizen will agree that Turkey is a valuable member.

Remember what the Brotherhood of EDEN values used to be: Respect, Loyalty, Valour, Unity, Friendship and Sacrifice. Turkey has proved worthy of none of them so far. Let them prove they are EDEN material before bringing them in. If that doesn`t happen and in one month from now Turkey is voted for full EDEN membership, our only hopes is that an EDEN Country President will veto Turkey joining EDEN. This would be our last resort, our last hope of seeing our Garden of EDEN in full bloom this coming spring and not in full decay instead.

All hope is not lost. For as long as YOU, the reader of this article will keep fighting for your right, will keep fighting for an EDEN of popular unity and not an EDEN of a few "aristocrats", there is still hope.

In an interview made by Zmei Gorianin with the Turkish president, the later made public that the Turkish entrance in EDEN is "guaranteed".

One more proof that the trial membership was a charade. Those who negotiated Turkey joining EDEN lied to the CPs present at summit. They voted for a trial that does not exist. Nevertheless they lied the Turks as well, giving them fake guarantees when the truth is that their joining EDEN can be vetoed at any time by a single EDEN country president.
