[EDEN] The Genesis

After we talked about the organization and the commanding structures of EDEN, today we will look closer into it`s actual history.

Erepublik Defence & Economy Network (abbr. "EDEN", aka. "The Brotherhood") is a military alliance consisting of thirteen (13) countries and popularly accepted as the successor to ATLANTIS due to its high concentration of former ATLANTIS members and its inherited war with the alliance called PEACE GC, later to be known as PHOENIX, later to be known as NWO, later to be known as ONE, later to be known as...

ATLANTIS has risen above the waves on the 22nd of August 2008 with the participation of the following founding members: Argentina, Canada, Greece, Israel, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, UK, and USA. At the beginning of 2009, 5 more countries were adde😛 Croatia, Finland, Poland, Germany and Bosnia & Herzegovina. The history of ATLANTIS was marked by the continuous war with PEACE GC, war that continues today.
The major problem ATLANTIS had was the lack of cohesion in between member states which culminated with the invasion of Germany by another ATLANTIS member, Sweden.
This move represented the waking up call for the other ATLANTIS members. Due to hardships on the battlefield and the inner instability, ATLANTIS finally crumbled under it`s own weight back into the sea that gave it life.



In the beginning, after ATLANTIS fell, EDEN was no alliance at all. It was just a bunch of countries that had a need to work together and aid each other, especially after PEACE GC invaded North America. During that time EDEN formed and its founding principles were created, and even today, EDEN follows more or less the same set of ideals as it did back then. It was argued whether EDEN even needs a treaty at all, as it functioned just well without any written document, but it was thought that a write-up of procedures would help remind people of the Brotherhood's ideals.

The 27th of September 2009 is the day when EDEN was officially born. Croatia, Finland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain and Sweden signed the Treaty of the Brotherhood of EDEN as founding members, soon to be followed by USA and Australia

On March 31st, 2010, USA left EDEN.
On 7th of October, 2010, Italy joined EDEN.
On January 21st 2011, Bulgaria joined EDEN.
On January 23rd, 2011, Poland left EDEN.
On February 5th, 2011, Spain left EDEN.
On March 9th, 2011, Ireland joined EDEN.
On March 15th, 2011, Ukraine joined EDEN.
On April 12th, 2011, Sweden left EDEN.

If you take a look at the above timeline you will notice that the membership changed in time. Some left complaining that "EDEN became obsolete" (Poland) but others gladly took their place. And now the armies of EDEN are marching through the heart of one of their main arch-rivals of all times, Serbia. If that means "obsolete", myself I wouldn`t mind more of it.
The current membership of EDEN is as follows: Australia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Romania, and Ukraine.It seems that we have an affinity for the number thirteen (13) and that it is not us to whom it brings bad luck.



Not all countries who left EDEN went as far as to fight against the ones who they once called brothers, as Poland and Spain did. For example the partnership between EDEN and the USA continued even after they left. USA is one of the founding members of the alliance TERRA (formerly known as PANAM) and together with EDEN are fighting side-by-side against ONE. Current membership of Terra is as following: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Portugal, Russia and USA.

Like I previously mentioned, our adversaries are from the alliance called ONE, and they are actually four (4): Poland, Serbia, Hungary, Spain. Together with a bunch of servant countries like Indonesia, FYR of Macedonia, Iran, Turkey, Slovenia, Sweden, which are good enough to serve their interests, ONE has lately suffered a serious of defeats which culminated with the loss of the Serbian capital Belgrade about the time I`m writing this article.
