A Time of the Past

Day 1,908, 22:52 Published in Norway Norway by Jochen Lutz

This is my 10-th article and for this "anniversary" I included links to my previous articles, staying in Italic within the text.

Hello, dear readers!

This is an article I write after almost a month's break. Sometimes I was too busy in RL, sometimes I was lacking interest to publish or there was simply nothing to write about. However, I wish to resume the major happenings of the last weeks in eNorway, because they were really the perfect time for a new player to start - full of heavy wars, wins and falls, political crisis and opportunities for every one to show and prove what they are capable of... This short period of time made me proud to be an eNorwegian...

At the end of December, when I joined the community, it was just before Christmas. Actually, I immediately approved the possibility to communicate with people from all over the world here, but honestly, I disliked the sinisterly organised modules, demanding greed and aggresion in order to succeed. I was also surprised by the participation of youngsters in the political life, what later inspired me to try and take my chance too. And what was marring the good feeling of the game was the limited number of eNorwegian players, dooming us to linger on the fringe of the world with few regions, friends and choices.

January started with a splitting crisis on the political scene, which was first kept in secret, but then it became generally known that the country's president had arranged a deal with a medal hunter for selling a region of eNorway and had not informed the congress, nor the population about it. Although this act had not harmed eNorway a lot and even when its consequences were fixed, an unsuccessful impeachment followed and caused the president to resign and quit both his office and the game. With the first presidential elections for 2013 Kristoph Woldskji was appointed and assembled his government, facing sufficient dangers, related to eNorway's condition and to the game's mechanics as well. At this point I was still far from understanding everything, but what bothered me was the inefficient economics and even if I had some ideas, soon it became clear to me that it is only up to the administrators to do something about it. Another aspect, lacking activity was the battlefield and fresh chance for fighting was desperately needed. The small population was also causing all of the country's weaknesses and an idea appeared in me, to join forces with other threatened nations.

Perhaps the greatest challenge for eNorway was the war against the eUK. The Brits had attacked us without a warning and without a proper reason and forced us to fight back. It was a time for proving our political talent, the relationship between us and our closest friends and our unity as well. EDEN got our back, eCanada itself declared war against eBritain and many Asgard fighters joined our battles, ignoring their own vital struggles. An invasion was prevented, British soil was conquered and it would not had been possible without the self-sacrifice of every single eNorwegian. This tremendous event inspired me to continue to play and showed me the strength and the charm of our small community.

Meanwhile, I joined the MoFA as an ambassador to eGermany and eRussia and this helped me to get in touch with other peoples and to learn more about them. Meeting nice people outside of eNorway had only made the game even more interesting. The war with eBritain was brought to a final stage, when eSpain invaded eCanada and this was the end of our victories. However, thanks to eRussia's good will and a few well-organised resistance wars we managed to have a congress and I am grateful to my party's president for his trust and for letting me run and be elected. In my oppinion Kristoph Woldskji proved himself as a successful leader and in the end of his term we were all grateful for his efforts and the miracles he achieved! Vileskont was also elected as a country president on 5. February and now has my full support, since I was appointed to be the vMoFA in his government. A referendum about leaving EDEN and joining Asgard was started, because of our former friends' egoism and because of the alliance's waning. Now our neutral positian is already a fact and our membership in Asgard is still to follow.

But now, due to many reasons, we are wiped out. Many plans were suggested, many sacrifices were made and we are still looking forward to our freedom. A new time has come, but for it we will need to stay close to our old principles - unity, trust and will, this is all we need...

Well, I hope you read the whole of it and that you liked my idea of describing eNorway's "adventures". I am pretty sure that there are some mistakes and I would be happy if you tell me what to correct, what to add or delete. And again - thank you guys, for the awesome months I spent here - you are the best!
