First of, Spain-Canada now have a treaty don't they, so Spain are unlikely to turn on Canada at this point, just as long as you's don't AS Polska or something. Second, what has the -- arguably -- justified Spanish attack on Mex got to do with Canada? (Yeah I know the Mex NE was an "illegal" proposal according to alliance HQ, but it still nearly passed in Mexican congress). I don't understand how a war happening between ROLA nations that has no bearing on eCanadian national security is a legitimate reason to tie Canada to CoT?

Interesting. I recall eCan and eUS doing the same thing with NE proposals. eCan voted theirs down, just like eMexico, but eUS did not vote theirs down, just like eSpain.

Have you considered apologizing? That would go far. There was a survey done recently and the country agreed to a treaty with eSpain, as a CP candidate you are expected to be aware of this. There was a time when eUS and eCan were tightly aligned, but that moment passed long ago. This is not the home of the brave, this is the true north strong and free.

Really CoT is probably going to be the Alliance the most people vote for, we just don't like having no say when the decision is made.

I would prefer to be in ACT, we have already capitulated to TWO and have the stink of submission all over ourselves. Why not ally with the stronger of two evils? CoT is more dysfunctional and less organized.

Agreed. eCan joined a weak alliance for the "intangibles" and it didn't work out. IMO, Asgard is better than CoT because it has upside potential, CoT has no upside potential. CoT is not well organized and inferior to TWO in might. eCan is not going to have a seat near the head of the table in any alliance and the TWO alliance is sophisticated enough to recognize this and have a sub-group called ACT. Heck, TWO may even let us duke it out with our buddies from UK on occasion for training wars.

Sorry Addy, but where are you getting your information? CoT is very well organized. That's how they've been able to fight TWO so well before this Epic tournament. I've seen it first hand in HQ - they really have their shit together. Additionally, all members of CoT are treated equally which would give us a seat at the head of the table if accepted and accept CoT beyond the trial period.

I agree with both of you, Addy: CoT is weaker and less organized.
However, I have also witnessed it first hand and this is not to say that CoT ISNT organized. They are very organized, the problem is that TWO is only just slightly MORE organized, and has more firepower to throw around.

CoT is fairly good with equality as of late, working to free smaller members, joint operations, etc.

I disagree that TWO is organized to the level of CoT. They overpower CoT by a tremendous amount, but CoT's organization and coordination has made pushing them back possible.

It was the money CoT, specifically the eUS, were recently throwing at wars that made pushing TWO back possible. Nothing to do with superior organisation. As long as there's a lucrative CO, people will fight in it, even TWO/proTWO fighters.

There's no way any major CoT nations have the kind of coordination of a SPoland or have been able to work as effectively as Gre/Arg or Serb/Arg have recently. Arg were able to wipe most of South America at one point because of this and Greece have been almost unbeatable for months because of the round-the-clock threat that Arg give them. How do CoT even compare?

keeping the people in the loop is key.
Respecting people enough to trust their judgement is key.

I did something similar on my term.. I halted talks with eSpain to declare war on eSpain when they launched their very first attack on the states.

I made a large article explaining everything and ensured that everyone knew why I did it and all the details.

Because I informed everyone what was going on, Why and what may or may not come from it I got the overwhelming support from the country for the action.

It just comes down to respect. Yes sometimes you have to do things on the spur as you are put into a "this second or never" situation (I dont thing the COT alliance was one of those situations that couldnt wait a day..) But keeping the people fully updated and in the process is absolutely key.

I was so upset when I found out we were ALREADY in the COT trial from a player NOT EVEN IN GOVERNMENT.

I should be hearing this from you... In an address... not from someone that found out from someone else who is in the cabinet.

Then maybe read the media more? I put out an article before the summit and one shortly after the summit explaining exactly what had happened.

I'm not sure how much more I can communicate with the people. Communication is a two way street, it's my responsibility to tell the people what is happening and it is their responsibility to actual pay attention. I have personally wrote 4 articles in the last 12 days plus all the media my cabinet has put forward. I think the issue is less about a lack of communication than it is a hostile group of people attempting to hijack the discussion for their own political gain.

CoT is as committed to helping us as we are to helping them. CoT is an alliance that holds all members on equal footing, so we will get out of CoT exactly what we put into it. Discussions are underway to ensure that Canada will be made whole again in the future, but this isn't going to happen tomorrow. Things in this game tend to go one of two ways, either super fast or really slow. I can ensure you that when the time is right Canada will be whole again, but we must be patient and wait for the right time to arise.

is this you saying that if eCan commits to CoT then eUSA government will help eCan kick out eSpain?

I'm saying that the foreign relations path we are currently on will get us all of eCanada back in the long run.

You had given NO indication that you were going to force us into CoT trial membership. You turned back on a campaign pledge and you say it's because of the Mexico/Spain NE business?! It seems your issue is with a Congress that people elected to represent them actually deciding what is best for this nation. Foxfire, I can not give you specifics on Spain and Mexico/US relations because despite what I know this would violate the trust of our allies and jeopardize future plans. If you think this was about putting Canada in danger to protect the US you clearly have no idea what is going on in the world.

As far as the questions you have asked answers have been provided, if those are not to your liking I'm sorry, but I can not give you more information at the expense of our security and the security of our allies. You act like you have no idea how Foreign Affairs works, because if you did you would realize that some things happen/ are discussed that should not be made public before they are implemented.

The Big Brother politics may fly in the USA, but you clearly entertained into a political environment that you didn't bother to learn about before hand. I can appreciate your frustration, but even in your responses we can tell that you just don't get how uncharacteristic your secret politics, especially for foreign matters, is of a Canadian CP. Some latitude may have been given in this matter IF you had the trust of the Canadian people, but the majority don't even know you much less trust you. You got elected with a recognized Canadian party's support and for having a higher level than the runner up, not your own merits nor any reputation built among the majority of Canadians.
