[Presidential Update] CoT Trial Membership, ATO, and the Brolliance

My fellow Canadians,
Earlier today I went before Circle of Trust to make our case for membership. I'm happy to say we were approved for Trial Membership at their weekly summit. I know some of you are not happy with this, and others are not happy with not having a say in this, but at the end of the day your elected representatives made the right choice for Canada.
Over the next three months we will have the chance to show our friends and allies why they want Canada by their side. This grace period also allows Canada to feel out CoT and judge our relationship based on experience instead of fear of the unknown. I know people dislike change, but without change their is no progress.
When I campaigned for President of Canada I promised to make decision and explain them to the people of Canada even when those choices might not be popular. This is one of those decisions, while I believe the majority of Canada supports this decision there is a vocal minority that disagrees with the decision Congress and I made regarding joining CoT.
I made this decision based on my experience inside the eUS government, and my knowledge of how they do things. Having an MPP with the US isn't very significant in terms of relations, but working together closely towards the same ends helps build close relations with their government. Be a member CoT is the sort of relationship we need to become closer to them once again.
Speaking of close relations the eUS is seeking volunteers for ATO operations for PP elections, if you are able to help please contact me and I will forward your name to their Congress for CS approval. This is a one day operation and you will be free to come back once you're done helping.
I know we're all anxious to rekindle our bromance with the US and we're well on our way, but we have to remain committed to helping our brothers through their rough times in order for our past relationship to be resumed.

Decisions are made quickly and changes come swiftly when one is confident in the plan. Not everyone feels that confidence, but those currently guiding eCanada do feel assured by your approach.
It's good to see you have a direct and certain approach to rekindling relations with eUSA and you're getting things done. Time will tell if this new approach is adopted by the greater majority of eCanada.

We' re inviting people in based on cheap taxes, so I suggest starting an ATO department of our own, as smaller countries tend to be a target.
Not sure if CoT is the right move, but if France and Netherlands are going, worth a shot at least.

Zianni it seems your issue is that I'm an American more than what I have done. You of all people should know I have Canada's interests at heart since you have access to what I have been doing with the Cabinet.
DMV, I just think it's rude to run for CP your first week here there is no trust level for foundation it's just what the "Veterans" say.

Well Hitler justified the holocaust and explained his swift decisions, but they weren't for good. The people should have a say in this and I sill believe there is time to fix your mistakes by canceling the trial, asking the people then think of a decent approach.
What kind of drugs does it take to bring Hitler and the holocaust into this? If the last 8 months has taught us anything, it is to take the initiative when it is presented, as an opportunity might not present itself again.
It is a way of interpreting the matter in a more familiar case, and 8 months, I can also reference that to Germany in WW1 where they were basically annihilated and then regrown to become a superpower that have sparked WW2. I see what you mean by opportunity but it is not an opportunity if only a handsome of people chose it. I believe that everyone has a say on something that will damn affect them!

Gh0strr, It is not a of interpreting the matter in a more familiar case, it is in fact an inference that DMV3 is doing something that hitler did so he must be evil. But then again Hitler ate bread and I also eat bread so I am obviously evil.
There is no other way to read your comment other than to infer that you are deliberately trying to bring DMV3 into disrepute by directly comparing his actions to those of Hitler. This can easily be surmised due to the simple fact that your basic premise is a falsehood.
The Holocaust was an incredibly thought out and systematic annihilation of Europe's Jewish population. It was not simply thought up over night and carried out the next day. Hitler made his views on Jews clear over 15 years prior to the Nazi enactment of the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question" with the publication of Mein Kampf.
The Holocaust was carried out over a series of years. Meticulous records were kept - including on how the Nazis refined their techniques for murder as well as listing literally millions of those they moved to Concentration Camps and killed - showing this to be the most deliberate and planned campaign of murder that the world has ever known.
I don't care that you don't like DMV3's decision. I don't care that you want to insult him. I even wouldn't necessarily mind if you compared him to Hitler if your comparison was apt (not a guarantee so no need to test me on that one). But the way that you so are so willing to casually reinterpret the history of the greatest tragedy mankind has ever known just to prove a point on an Internet based game, that offends me to no end.
I would kindly suggest that you read a book about the Holocaust (the graphic novel Maus might be a good place to start) or speak to one of the remaining survivors while you still can so that you may understand why most people don't make these kinds of comparisons.

Not to get into Canadian politics since it's not really my business but the CP moved on with the CoT trial membership with congressional consent. Congress is supposed to be the people's representation. Granted DMV could have probably made a referendum but congress voted in favor.
Congress approved it 75% in favor.
so how big is congress ...... ummmm 10 people ? and oh did I forget there was no discussion found on the forums discussing that important matter publicly. oh even worse that a couple of congressmen didn't even know about that proposal!

I was too busy chillaxing in the basement to put together the regular survey to gauge pubic opinion on a topic, which would the direct my vote or actions in Congress.
As luck would have it, not all Congressmen needed to vote on this to make it pass.

8 out of 10 congressman voted and it debated for 3 days prior to the vote.
80% of Congress voted, so if there is an issue with how they voted elect someone else next time. I am sorry this isn't what some of you want, but I'm not one to second guess myself just because someone else thinks I should. If you can show me how my actions were wrong that is an entirely different conversation, but I do not respond to ad hominem attacks. You want to debate the issue feel free, but please stick to facts. Also nothing in the Constitution requires either a referendum or public discussion before joining an alliance.
We're already fighting with these nations against the same nations, the only difference is now when we need help we have reason to request it from them.
Atleast it should have been your government's duty is to inform all 10 congressmen (which is hardly a legit congress for such a nation)
Gh0strr all Congressmen were notified by the in-game pm thread that discussion had be opened on the forums. If someone says they were not informed then they either lied or they don't check their pms.
Auk and I did repost the CoT vote three-four times, the players who haven't voted should probably be given a break next term.
Zianni, I'm a bit disappointed you would violate the Clan Wolf Charter by participating in forum-only based discussions and debates. Then again, it's already been established that we have different views on the party.
My reasons for not participating in the vote for CoT were solidly based on prioritizing in-game debates and votes that prioritizes public/clicker involvement over the deals done in IRC and other metagaming tools as forum.
Then you complain when the metagame bites you in the ass.
Maybe you should have paid more attention to CW Charter. It has some merit.

Dude, I'm just following what the party's line is. If you have an issue with me only doing in-game votes and discussing things in the media and via private messages, then your problem is with the CW Charter. My CW Union Rep will explain the collective agreement to you if you have any questions.
Continue being useless then, congress is a responsibility to the people foremost and utmost, you don't owe homage to your party's broken charter.
I was one of the two non-voters. I didn't vote because it had already the 5 yes votes it needed to pass without me so I didn't see a point. My support was voiced in the discussion thread.

Wilfie, the rest of eCanada is not beholden to the Clan Wolf Charter. eCanada's system of rules was in existence long before your party and the rules for both changing them and voting on important matters are clear. If Clan Wolf would like to change those rules then it can try through the existing means at your disposal but that's not likely to happen if more eCanadians vote for parties that at least tacitly support the existing rules.
