[PM] Lost in America: What's been going on.

Day 750, 05:11 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mr Woldy

Japan and the USA.
The Cabinet & SWAC.
The eRolling Scones!.

Good Afternoon!

Those of you not following the news, may not know that there was a rather large battle between Eden and Japan yesterday. It certainly sounds as though the odds were against Japan, but the Phoenix alliance came to Japan's aid to protect their region. A lot of effort was put into both sides of the battle for Kyushu, tanks from all around the world decided to throw their hats into the ring, and in the last 10 minutes of the battle, people were giving it their all.

The motive behind the attack was that USA wanted to use japan as a stepping stone into Eastern Asia, and create chaos in Russian and Hungarian occupied areas of China. The US president, Jewitt (A cool guy, if we're honest) had asked the Japanese president, Dokomo if he would allow them access through Kyushu. Dokomo declined. Now Japan are still a PEACE nation, and China is in Sol. Perhaps liberating these regions as a favour to China, wouldn't be badly recieved in the ears of the members of the Sol alliance. That and inevitable discussions over wether or not the USA could hold on to one of those high Iron regions, perhaps explains the USA's next move.

They went and attacked Kyushu anyway. To broadly paraphrase President Jewitt - it was a neccessary evil.

US Helicopters looking evil out of neccessity

Where did we come into play in all this?
Well undoubtedly some of you would have noticed that we picked up a few US regions. This was an old style block and stall technique. I get frequent messages from players who, perhaps aren't on the enlightened path we call the forums who feel it neccessary to inform me that we shouldn't attack the US, because we can't beat them. I suppose I should thank them, but the motive to attack isn't always to win. By attacking american regions, (and here's a quick lesson for you) it stalled the Americans from attacking, and would have distracted a small number of fights.

So we went about attacking those US regions, it's nothing new to us to be honest, but actually gaining control of them for once has caused mild cases of shock in some people. In order to not be distracted by us, the US president retreated the regions under attack. So we attacked the bordering regions, which were also retreated. I hear through the grapevine that there's talk of some radicals over there wanting to impeach President Jewitt. Which is rather silly, I think anyone with the shiny set of buttons you get as a CP would have had to have done the same.

However we got stuck between the proverbial rock, and the proverbial near by hard place. It got to the point where we could only attack an American region that bordered either Canada or Spain. So, we decided to step onto the one bordering Canada and try and sneakily move on through. Now as the US retreated Pennsylvania, we intended to go fourth into West Virginia, and it wasn't until a good 5 minutes of me raging over headless chickens and clicking like a mad man, when we realised Canada had attacked, and RW'ed Pennsylvania. Which is pretty smart of them, because not only did it block us, but the RW prevented us from retreating and re-attacking another US owned region.

So the next step was to face the beast head on, so preparations were made, and soldiers from all Phoenix countries were moved out to prepare to defend Kyushu. With only 10 Minutes left on the clock, Phoenix tanks began fighting, both sides were hitting the wall, and hitting it hard.

Now as you can see from this neat video someone put together (although the original version of Kashmir is 50 jizzmillion times better), Kyushu was secured by Japan.

And as for our new regions, well I expect we'll be relieved of them rather promptly - treat it as a TW!
But in the meantime, over in Phoenix HQ, we'll be partying hard.

The Cabinet & SWAC

So far new Cabinet ministers have been slotting quite well into their positions, and ambassadors and apprentices are being rallied and organised to create efficient taskforces running our initiatives, information, wellness, and media schemes over here in eUK central.

Over at the MoHA, we've decided to look into ways of getting important articles voted into the top 5 quickly. We've decided upon a system whereby citizens can submit their papers to us, and whenever a Government article is released we PM all citizens who applied asking them to vote (and org vote) the article. Then, we shall respond in kind, they can message us with their article, and we will pass it on to all the included citizens again asking for their votes. You can apply for this scheme here.

The Social War Aims Committee needs more applicants, so to get you people interested in applying, I'll set out some guidelines for you and throw in some info as to what you'll be involved with should you apply.

Firstly, you'll have to take orders from that Arthur Wellesley chap, who will be heading the committee. He's a great bloke and I'm rather confident once we've got our feet firmly on the ground he will be fully capable of maintaining the momentum that will appear in the preliminary stages of the committee's work.

The committee is cross ministry, and cross party. Not only are we bringing in citizens from the Ministry of Home affairs and Foreign affairs, we're bringing in representatives from our political parties, to spread the love and get parties working together, as a team. Each active on the forums will be asked to put forward a representative to sit the committee, and share ideas on solutions and schemes that can be implemented to solve problems our country may be facing now or in the future,

A bunch of people meet to talk 'bout stuff

So what sort of work can you expect to be doing?
You'll primarily be continuing the work of last months recruitment office, but going the extra mile. A member of the MoHA's media team will be on hand to help create recruitment and information articles about what the committee has been doing, on how to join the military and how to lend a hand.

Not only that, but you'll also be responsible for publishing articles abroad, to help give people an insight into the eUK, how we work, and whats been going on. To help people see us in a better light - and this is where the representative from the MoFA comes in.

You'll also help manage any party schemes that can ultimately be used for the better of the eUK, including things like moving or wellness schemes.

Every party wants to help get people onto the forums, so you'll be chipping in there too.

The eRolling Stones!

Following the inspiration of people such as Hassan Pesaran, who used to run podcasts, and recent listener turnout of Winston's radio shows, and with the apparent success of similiar broadcasts done by citizens in the eUS John Forseti, Iain Keers and myself have decided to attempt running our own eRadio show through 'Blogtalkradio'.

The "eRolling Scones: On Ice!" shall premier tonight, at 10pm GMT.

Just a heads up though, I met difficulty when trying to ring Winstons show, so I can't guarantee that this will work. However, should I fail, with any luck John or Iain may be able to keep you entertained, as difficult as it is for them.

To listen in, simply follow this link;
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/erolling-scones

You can relisten to any of our shows following the broadcast, and you even have the choice to download them as a podcast.

As it says - our first topic will be on Winston L.S. Churchill, the PP of the UKRP mainly because he seems like one of the most controversial eUK'ers at this point in time. All callers are welcome, and I foresee that if no-one calls, the show will come to a premature end.

We ultimately aim to give a light hearted look on events happening in the eworld, and with any luck maybe even make you laugh along the way. It'll be like the whole or radio 4 rolled into one, without the boring bits (we hope).

If you are one of the types that doesn't really want to move onto the forums, due to time or the strange feeling of not really wanting to (I had it once) then feel free to tune in for a quick update. It may sound strange listening to people who you don't have any idea about yammering on about a game, but you never know, you might enjoy it.

Post Editorial - due to technical diffulties, the eRolling Stones was a huge (yet still amusing) flop. You can follow the link to find out the hassle we went through, and I'm happy to tell you that as I write this we're working on a podcast as a replacement Idea.
