[PM] Ashes to Ashes; Goodbye to the Royal Guard
Mr Woldy
Good Evening!
Firstly, if you're active ont he forums you'll know we'ce decided to begin looking for a Cabinet Secretary, you can read more about that here. You will be helping us orgnaise and run meetings, and lending a hand in the MoHA/MoLA. Hopefully this role will help set in conrete plans that are regularly discussed in the Cabinet IRC room, so ministers can read through chats and remind themsleves of discussed initiatives that they can begin to work towards.
Currently the Training Wars are active, but if you want a taste of the real action you can move to hungary and help them fight in their open battles.
Just to remind you again that gifting is available, there is currently an open battle in the regular PEACE training war, which we are involved in. You can find the war here. If however, your welllness is under 40 and you cannot fight you can request gifting from the British Gifting Hub they can obly gift you up to 40 once, so remember in the future to fight no more times then the quality of your hospital, and then heal.
The Military
Up 'til today, the Military consisted of the Royal Guards, The Royal Navy, and the Special Forces. The Royal Guards were a stay at home force, who (to be honest) often slipped into inactivity.
Over the past few days, the Cabinet and Royal Navy Command have been discussing possible options for the Royal Guard, as the current scheme had left Commanders with little direction, meaning they couldn't make progress. Initially we decided to better organise the system were people would be trained and moved into the navy. People who for-whatever reason couldn't move (Congressmen, Party Presidents) would be put into a squad to fight from home.
However, the discussion soon led to that system being incorporated into and ran by the Royal Navy, and upon deliberation the decision was made to take a further step and get rid of the RG.
The Royal Naval Training Division
To replace the RG, The RNTD shall be established. Led by the navy, and following their current chain of command, it shall be tasked with training new Cadets to the eUK military. There, they shall be introduced to fighting smart (keeping wellness high) working in Military companies, using IRC and moving around. From here, they will start a dazzling new career in the Navy.
But what of the stationary forces? There shall be no stationary wing of the Military, I used to be in the RG and to some extent I am saddened to see it go. However, it was never really active, and never did a lot. There were a lot of people who could move but who just didn't want to, and the best way to urge them into the navy is to remove the Royal Guard.
People who cannot move due to game mechanics will be able to fight for themselves, not all of them signed up to the military in the first place, and once they hit the right strength they can join the Special Forces, if they so please.
This serves to slimline the military, increase the number of active hands on board to help, and increase the size of our mobile forces.

Aw. Now I can't claim I am apart of the military. Dang.
The Navy - where the kool kids hang.
Welcome to the Navy, get your sea legs on!
I get seasick 🙁
Voted.
I approve of this. cheers for doing something I never had the guts to do
Royal Naval Reserve!
Good stuff, I have been saying the RG is a waste of time and effort for a long time.
got to say not a fan RG just needed a kick up the arse
So basically what you did is saw my suggestion and thought it was a good idea
oh yeah..
So basically the new administration sucked balls.
Oh yeah..
Joppsta, constructive criticism of why we should keep the RG would be better. Just saying.
That being said, I think this will work out the best for everyone. A hat tip to GF as well from me.
Woldy, are you mad?
"But what of the stationary forces? There shall be no stationary wing of the Military"
Because that makes total sense.... Just because Gordon Brown did it in the UK, doesn't mean you need to do it in the eUK!
It makes sense to scrap the RG. Good choice.
Somebody should probably point out the GF Necrosis was the guy who took the plunge here.. In the forums.. etc etc
GF had began reform before he left, after talking to the RG gaiz and RN gaiz we decided to just get rid of it and make an alternative.
RG needed sorted and updated, should of kicked all the inactives and everyone who isn't forced to stay in the UK due to game mechanics. Then used them as a mentoring program for newbies.
I am saddened to see the demise of the RG into which a number of individuals had poured considerable amounts of time and energy.
I have had the honour to have served in this unit since it's formation (originally under the title 'Territorial Army') and worked my way up through the tank structure from Private soldier to CO.
When Mr Woldy was elected on a promise of 'reforming' the RG, I had no idea tht within two weeks the complete organization was about to be totally trashed.
I suspect that following the ill advised 'Reset' of the RG, the new regieme realised the magnitude of the task of rebuilding the command structure (I know it well having gone through a reset in the past and having had to painstakingly rebuild the ORBAT from scratch) - and decided that they could not be bothered. I think that the loyal members of the RG deserved better than this.
I firmly believe that there is a role for a military unit which caters for those who cannot or unwilling to move from eUK, such as members of Congress. I see that it is essential that we make bes use of the capabilities of ALL the citizens of eUK - and not just those that choose to join the mobile forces. Whether this unit is titled RG or not is debateable.
So, it remains to see what will come out of this debacle - let us hope that future administration can make a better job than those who have been responsile for the actions of the past two months!

🙁
well, the RG was essentially useless over here. not like how it was in the US. the USNG was the shit, always giving weapons and gifts and being active...
the only issue with the RG is that the ppl who ran it didn't care at all...
