A Pardon for Rolo

As my article stated yesterday, I veto'd Congress' decision to pardon Rolo Tahmasee. I stand by the veto.

The following is a quote from my comment on Rolo's article yesterday:

"I veto'd the pardon because it didn't seem that Congress was quite aware of what it was doing. It was a rushed discussion with misrepresented information. They can feel free to think it over and try again. My reasoning wouldn't be valid anymore, so I wouldn't be in a place to veto it again."

Congress doesn't need to overturn my veto to pardon Rolo. It needs to take the time to get everyone involved in the discussion, then try again. Yes, I did change my mind when it came to "interfering" with the vote; it wasn't because of the vote itself, but because of how it was handled.

Rabble, rabble, rabble

I have enjoyed reading the comments on the articles about this subject. Reading between the lines, when there's nothing there, seems to be a favourite pass-time for some people. Which is understandable, conspiracy theories can always be a fun thing to ponder. Plus, it makes me look bad to the uninformed, therefore making the other side win. Right? That's how it works, no? Oh well, we can never get away from the Drama-Llama.

I say what I mean. I have always been one for transparency, since it never does any good to hide things. I acted on scenarios by what I believed was right, and I do not regret doing so. Being an internet game and all, there's not much else I can say except for that.

The Less Vocal

I've had a few people message me about the veto, thanking me for it. In particular, there was this one quote, "I know a lot of key citizens have been quite vocal in the press about their opposition to the pardon, but I wanted to let you know there are even more of us who are just as opposed to it, though less vocal."

"though less vocal"

Therein lies the problem. If Congress votes again to pardon Rolo, I will not be veto'ing whatever decision they make. If the "more of us" wants their opinions to be considered, they need to be vocal. If you are not voicing your opinion, then your opinion is never heard, and is never counted. Please, be vocal, or else the opposition will.

Presidential Scenario #4

And the show must be on. We are down to three participants, as Andrew McKenzie Caine has resigned due to a disagreement with the Executive.

Scenario #4

"You are the Vice-President, mid-way through the term. The President has to leave on a trip that lasts four days, while the country is in important military coordination with our allies. What do you do to take his place while he is away?"

Explanation

Just read below, not much to explain 😉

Thursday to Sunday

As I've said the whole term, I will be taking a "vacation" nearer the end of the term. That "vacation" is a university conference, where I will be gone from Thursday evening to Sunday evening. I know, what terrible timing, but alas, when it's booked three months in advance, there's nothing much that can be done.

I will still have internet access, so all the CP buttons will still be pressed. I will be keeping myself updated with what's going on, but I doubt I will have all that much time to participate in the going-ons themselves. Gary Hubert will be the acting-CP, as I believe he has the best response to scenario #4, and has had good responses for previous scenarios as well.

Annd that's all I have for now. As always, if there's anything you'd like me to talk about in my next article, please make a suggestion in the comments.

Stay tuned for more articles by subscribing to my newspaper, and help others to see this as well by voting it up and shouting it as well.

Thank you for reading!
