War... Meh...

Day 1,263, 08:36 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by John F Baker

Perhaps it's just me, but war just doesn't seem fun any longer.

I'm hardly interested at all in the breaking news on the global state of affairs, any more, simply because it seems to be in a constant state of flux.

To be fair, I've never really given a much thought to the wars that surround us, but eRepublik's latest war spam is becoming even more dull than ever before. This has served to make them seem all too generic, rather than the special event and important news that a war ought to be.

Who knew a World War could be so ... monotonous?

The feeling I get nowadays.

A finger deserves pointing towards the Admins' change of raw materials. What used to be fiercely contested regions holding globally demanded reserves of iron or diamonds, now bear trivial resources like fruit... or cattle...

They just ain't that special anymore.

However, I've heard about the future updates to resources and product requirements, and I can only hope that once they've got it working (bahaha), they'll leave it at that.

But I digress.

I've reached the point where I barely feel any excitement even about a war involving our own country, unless there is something incredibly special and meaningful in the reasoning.

I remember the butterflies-in-the-stomach tingle I used to have when we were defending London from EDEN, and months later from Canada. I remember gasping in awe when I participated in the first eRepublik war to surpass 1 million damage, in what seemed the most hyped and important fight of the month - maybe of the year.

Pretty much, fellow kitteh...

Perhaps it's just me; maybe it's that I'm just plain bored with playing this same game for 2.4 years.

What used to be the most exciting module this game had to offer, is now simply something to glance at while clicking that little "fight" button, for boblo knows what reason...

Also take a moment to vote on this article's poll on the official eUK forums. If you haven't already registered, my condolences that you're willing to play such a shallow game without the depth of community offered 🙁
