USA, 05:05 (Jan17) | Day 789 of the New World

Take a look at where we are today, compared with where we where when Emerick first took office, its clear we have come a long way. Defied the odds, outnumbered and outgunned we pulled through and came back to take our rightful place among the top powers of eRepublik. Some say it was unity that brought us out of the hole we where in, others say it was a re-energized EDEN that helped us hold our ground. Although these reasons did play a role in our comeback perhaps the most influential reason was leadership. Names like Emerick, Gaius Julius, Josh Frost served as presidents consecutively, i don't care what PEACE or Phoenix tried to do, you just cant reverse the resounding benefits of having such great leaders serve back to back and continuously build on each other successes, producing undeniably essential and arguably miraculous victories

No matter how united a country might be, no matter how great a vice president may be or how much effort military forces may put into a fight, if you have a bad president you have a chink in your armor, a major one. Thankfully our past president put the time and effort into their terms in office to produce real results and bring balance and steady economic growth to America.

eRepublik is a demanding game, specially on presidents, its easy to tell the difference between a president who puts the necessary time into his term in office from one who doesn't. A president who doesn't hold back and many times sacrifices real life needs for the betterment of his term can be seen purely by the fruits of his labor. Emerick, Gaius, Josh have all gained their respect and admiration because their terms in office produced, not just victories and success but permanent ones.

Recently our military efforts have taken a slightly sour turn. Although our armed forces have fought no less valiantly or shown less effort, our Asian campaign has largely fizzled, our funds have ran dry and our current foreign holdings are at risk. Phoenix didn't pull a fast one, it was a series of easily avoidable blunders brought on by blatant disregard for essential effort that has lead us to where we stand today. America remains united, EDEN is no less then what it has ever been...so what has changed? Leadership has changed, brilliant at one moment, foolishly absent the next, Jewitt has fallen short. Our borders remain intact, for that some credit is due but one thing is for sure, our current international efforts have "like the administration" fallen short and remain almost fruitless. Like Gaius, Emerick and Frost, Jewitt produced results but unlike his predecessors they where all too temporary.

Time flies, elections will soon be here and America needs a great, not average but a great leader to take our nations highest office. Eugene Harlot, Josh Frost, Woxan, Gaius Julius...will somebody please step up.

Editor's Corner - A Good Leader
A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of utmost importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A good leader "walks the talk" and in doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads.
