It's time to write the 3rd article... this time is about V2 (especially about the new Economic Module).



1. Companies


The new proffesions and the Customization Points seem to be really interesting and I really believe that they will make the game better.

But there is one problem: the managers must already "work" a lot in order to keep their companies running. The new economic module will make them work even more. Let's not forget that this is a game and maybe you don't want to make it a job.

Imagine this situation: something unexpected happens IRL so you can't play Erepublik for several days; you own a company (or even more). The raw materials are not enough for the days you can't play so after a while they will run out. The employees won't be able to work anymore so they will just quit your company. Or maybe you won't have enough money to pay them for too many days without selling anything.

The solution is this: new options for managers


a) The company should be able to auto-buy raw materials; managers should be able to choose how many to buy, when to buy and for what (maximum) price; ofcourse, the company should auto-buy the cheapest raw materials on market (but never more expensive than the maximum price allowed - choosed by the manager).

Exemple: I will set my weapons company to auto-buy Iron when it has 100 or less iron. I will set it to buy up to a total of 400 Iron. Also, I will set as maximum price 0,25 ron (for Q1 ofcourse... so the AI will know that it can buy Q2 for 0,50 ron, Q3 for 0,75 ron and so on...).


b) The company should be able to auto-sell goods. So, managers will choose the lowest price accepted for selling. The company will sell goods for the lowest price on market (as long as that price is not lower than the minimum price selected by the manager).


c) The company should be able to auto-hire employees and to auto-fire employees. Managers will set the maximum salary allowed for hiring and the company will always hire if needed. Also, the managers will set the minimum allowed wellness to work in the company so if an employee works with lower wellness, he will be auto-fired. The manager can also set the company to fire employees if they don't work for a certain time (exemple: I will set my company to fire employees if they don't work for 5 days in a row).


d) Tools... there should be more tools for managers. The managers should be able to see daily profit, weekly profit, monthly profit, profit per employee, profit per product sold, the average price of the raw materials he bought, etc



2. Taxes


First of all, the companies should pay taxes ! You don't know yet ? Well, most of them don't. So the new economic module must find a way to make them pay taxes.

Secondly, you should be able to set different taxes for different Q of products. Ofcourse, the new economic module will eliminate the "Q" thing, but the companies will still have 5 levels. Curently, Q1 companies have really low profit while Q5 companies got a nice profit. In this situation, the Congress can choose to set lower taxes for lower Q companies and higher taxes for higher Q companies.

Exemple:

Weapons - Q1 - Income Tax: 4% Import Tax: 99% VAT: 1%
Weapons - Q2 - Income Tax: 8% Import Tax: 99% VAT: 2%
Weapons - Q3 - Income Tax: 12% Import Tax: 99% VAT: 3%
Weapons - Q4 - Income Tax: 16% Import Tax: 99% VAT: 4%
Weapons - Q5 - Income Tax: 20% Import Tax: 99% VAT: 5%

And of course, you will be able to set all these with just one law, as now... having 5 laws for every type of product will be too much.



3. Others


a) Quests - adding quest to Erepublik in order to make it easier to do the daily tasks; there can be Daily Quests (for the daily tasks - like work & train) but also Serial Quests (unique quests which will help players to learn how to play; these quests can teach them how to buy food, how to get a job, etc...).

b) Wellness - a big problem for the new players is the wellness; I really believe that every new player should start with 100% wellness...
