Congressional Rankings- Analyzed

Day 732, 22:03 Published in USA USA by Fionia

First off, I'm testing the view counter.

Secondly, there was one endorsement that I did not mention in my last article, because it has come to my attention since then. Herrn Sterling is running for Congress in Vermont, under the AAP banner. For those of you who don't recognize the name, he is the one who asked the presidents of other countries what they thought of the US. He is a very interesting and involved player, and his platform can be found here.

Now, to the main event:

Analyzing Congress and Congressional Rankings

There have been three articles published recently evaluating Congress. Two of these were released by CrashNBurn (Congressional Checkup and Congressional Checkup Number 2. These were polls, essentially, filled by Congressmen. Only 13 were polled for the first, and even though all Congressmen were given a chance to respond to the second, only 24 did. The other article was written by Astra Kat, and it was her personal evaluations of her fellow Congressmen.

For CnB's first article, the Congressmen were rated based on whether their peers thought they should return. The rating was done with a +, 0, or -, and then the results were tallied up. The top Congressmen (with 11 or 12 votes in their favor) on this first list were:

Arizona - Rheinlander von Phalz: +12
District of Columbia - Ligtreb: +12
Nevada - sydiot: +12
New Hampshire - Devoi😛 +12
Wisconsin - DanielC😨 +12
Colorado - Daniel Dodge: +11
Michigan - Tormo😛 +11
New Mexico - Jude Connors: +11
New York - Fionia: +11
Tennessee - Bradley Reala: +11
Virginia - Evan Feinman: +11
West Virginia - CrashNBurn: +11

In Astra's article, Congressmen were graded on an A-F scale based on her perception of their performance in and knowledge of Congress. The top Congressmen on her list (receiving A's or B's):

Nevada - sydiot: A
Arizona - Rheinlander von Phalz: A
New Mexico - Jude Connors: A
Virginia - Evan Feinman: A
Maryland - Myles Robinson: B
Massachusetts - AidenAstrup: B
Tennessee - Bradley Reala: B
Alabama - Serendipitous: B
West Virginia - CrashNBurn: B
Maine - seeker1: B
Idaho - St Krems: B
Arkansas - Killing Time: B

In CrashNBurn's second article, Congressmen were rated on a scale of 1 to 5, based on their performance in Congress. The highest score was a 4.7 here. So, the top Congressmen (scoring from a 3.9 to a 4.7 (check out the article to see why I am breaking it down this way)) were:

District of Columbia - Ligtreb - 4.7
Nevada - sydiot -4.7
Arizona - Rheinlander von Phalz – 4.6
West Virginia - CrashNBurn – 4.5
Arkansas - Killing Time - 4.5
Tennessee - Bradley Reala - 4.3
Montana - Devan Kronos - 4.2
New Mexico - Jude Connors – 4.1
Wisconsin - DanielCD - 4
Kentucky - Cerb - 4
New Jersey - Astra Kat – 4
Alabama - Serendipitous – 4
New York - Fionia - 3.9

What does this mean? Well, if you look at the three lists together, it becomes clear who the top 5 Congressmen in terms of activity and performance are: Rheinlander von Phalz, sydiot, Jude Connors, Bradley Reala, and CrashNBurn. These five were at the top of every list. There are also 6 more who were on at least two of the lists: ligtreb, Evan Feinman, DanielCD, Serendipitous, Killing Time, and myself.

Some interesting things to note about these last 6:
* ligtreb and DanielCD both got C's and I got a D on Astra's list while topping CrashNBurn's lists.
* Killing Time only got a +9 on CrashNBurn's list of Congressmen that should return, and Serendipitous only got a +5, but they ranked high for performance.
* Evan Feinman only got a 3.5 on CrashNBurn's second list, of Congressmen ranking each other on their performance, yet he was high on the "should-return" list, and one of Astra's A's.

One anomaly that should be explained is with what rankings Astra herself received. Obviously, she did not grade herself in her article, and she has also announced that she is not running again, so most abstained from voting for her on CrashNBurn's first poll. So she only appears on one list out of the three, although she should be on two if not three of them.

EDIT

Some interesting facts came to my attention in the comments of this article. According to CrashNBurn and Rheinlander, the people who responded to CrashNBurn's second poll were from the following parties:

9 - AAP responses (50% of the party's Congressmen)
8 - USWP Responses (72 - 80😵
4 - Lib Responses (57😵
3 - Fed Respones (60😵
1 - USGP Response (100😵

Thank you for your patience in reading this massive article, and I hope that this will give people a clearer and more complete picture of who the top Congressmen (and women) are.

On an unrelated note, thank you to everyone who showed up to my eWedding. It was wonderful, and for those of you that missed it, the chat log of the main part can be found here.
