What about the US?

Day 706, 14:10 Published in USA Germany by Herrn Sterling

I wondered how other countries view the US since I am fairly new to this game; so I thought about how I could answer this question. My solution was to ask the president of every country; who should know it better?

Below is the letter I sent to all 59 Presidents that informed them that this was for an article. I will not include President's names (except for Serbia's, who requested to be known); however, country names will be included.

Dear Mr. President,
My name is Herr Sterling and I am a US citizen. I am writing an article and was wondering if you could answer a question for me: What does your country think about the US? If you could answer this as soon as possible, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and I hope you have a great day!
Herr Sterling

Argentina
I can only say what I think about them. I think that they deserved the bad times they had during the occupation but they should also recover their freedom.

Australia
USA is a country that I have grown a lot of respect for; especially after the rebound from one, or two, states. There are a lot of American expats in Australia and Australia welcomes them with open arms; so I think the general population shares my respect as well.

Bolivia
Well, it is a good country to invest money into because there are some high raw material regions. I have two Q3 wood companies there and one Q3 oil company.

Colombia
We think every country in this game has the right to do what they think is okay for their citizens. However, when this right becomes to large and influences other countries, that's a problem.
If the US stays in their original, real- life borders, and are not a threat to others, we can be OKAY.

Denmark
What do we think of the eUS? Well, I don't think we have any specific thoughts about you. Personally, it was devastating to see you guys go under but as a country there was little we could do. We have quite a lot of US players in this country and although some of them are strange, one of our first presidents was eAmerican.

Estonia
What does your country think about the US?
eEstonia, a neutral North-East European grain country belives that the eUS is great place where we can sell our grain, food, and guns. Futhermore, we believe that you can be great neutrality defenders if PEACE attacks us (look at the map, eEstonia is between EDEN and PEACE).
Politically, some eEstonians (by their own decision) have been fighting with you in WW3 defending North-America against PEACE. We believe, that two strong forces are better than one. However, we do not support any invasions of neutral countries in military and political take-overs, not even by the eUSA.

Finland
I recognize the US as one of our allies although we don't belong to the same alliance. I want to keep our relations with the US close and even strengthen them.
Urokhtor

France
Well, I think the eUSA today is a very different country than a few months ago. You are much more organized and probably more "adult" in your strategy and international relations. You changed for the better, that's for sure. 😉

Greece
The US altruistically spent thousands of gold to help liberate four of our occupied regions and by doing so allowed us to develop and prosper. In return they gained a very grateful ally and friend in Greece. We are always here for the U.S. as they have been for us.

India
I think the eUSA is a country which has tremendous respect for itself and for the sovereignty of other countries. A GREAT friend of eIndia and has ALWAYS been there to support us and India appreciates it very much. eIndia and eUSA will always be great friends and will work together for Peace, Prosperity and Progress.

Iran
The answer to this question is long and there are many different opinions.

Ireland
Well Ireland has many US sympathizers as a decent sized chunk of our population are rl Americans. Many of us, including me, have tried to get the country to join Fortis/EDEN since the World War began. Nevertheless, we treasure the good relations we have with the US.

Israel
We like the US. Great friends, great allies, etc. etc. Go McCain! Oh wait, that was last year.

Lithuania
In game, our tiny country belongs to the opposing alliance (it is mostly ePoland's fault - blame them... 😉 ). We are the PEACE members and you are in FORTIS. This means that you're supposed to be our enemies... Despite this, our people understand that this is a game. eUSA hasn't done anything wrong to our country; thus, it is possible that one day we could have really good relations.

Malaysia
We have people of many different RL nationalities here. I am an IRL American myself, along with many other people here (people may know Bill Forder and Gertrude Groan particularly well). Our official foreign policy is that we're neutral with superalliances and such; on the personal level, you will find roughly equal proportions of EDEN/Brolliance and PEACE supporters. As for my own opinion, I used to hate the eUS with a fiery passion back in the scrabman and HR admins but Emerick and Gaius Julius have done a lot to correct the country's previous shortcomings in foreign policy. The ST6 liberation of an eIndian region was celebrated all over the region here.

Mexico
Unfortunately most eMexicans don't like the US too much, especially because of the fact that we were almost conquered by them about a year ago. Personally I don't have any trouble and would like to have a peaceful and meaningful relation with the US.

North Korea
They're wonderful allies and very supportive of all our endeavors.

Norway
Our country has always thought highly about the USA. I think many of our citizen were in shock and disbelief when the USA almost disappeard from the map. Many Norwegian citizens fought bravely to help free your regions to bring back our beloved ally and friend; and after the american assistance in Norway in the war against Russia and the UK, I believe the USA has an even stronger position in the hearts of the Norwegian citizens.

Peru
Perú likes the USA, because in the beginning, friends of the USA came to Perú and worked a lot here. They founded the first party in Peru, the PEP, which is actually the party I belong to.

Philippines
To be honest I don't think much about the USA at all. We don't have any direct dealings with the USA so not much goes on between us. There are a couple of RL Americans who came to the Philippines and they have contributed greatly to the Philippines. I voted to allow the USA into the Sol War games recently.

Poland
The US has great potential. Your reforms are going in right way and your army is getting better organised. However, many citizens think that you are selfish, you care only about your own bussiness, and are not likely willing to sacrifice for others.

Russia
"What does your country think about the US?"
A country has no opinion, only people do, as in every country. The opinions about the eUSA are divided. Some are convinced that you hate us and therefore consider you unavoidable enemies; others dislike the eUS for reasons in RL. Many are neutral towards you and tend to ignore you. A few consider a friendship possible. I am one of those.

Serbia (desert hamster)
We respect the way you managed to free yourselves from almost being destroyed. It was fun to fight with you. On the other hand, you made many mistakes and are continuing to make them (refusal to build hospitals in highly populated areas like New York, Texas, and Washington).
You have a lot of potential if you can get people to be more active. You have a high number of internet users and most of them are willing to pay for gold (not the case with other countries) and that can win you many battles.

Singapore
The US is fine, no problems. A fair number of eSingapore citizens are from US in RL but are here trying something different. Even I live in California in RL; so we don't really have any problems with the US. However, there's not really anything good to say either. The eUS pretty much falls into the neutral category for us and while we have mild diplomatic relations, I can't really say anything serious has ever been discussed.

Slovakia
We find you to be a reliable ally in our war against international communists TO attempts. We are happy to know some Americans helped us, and still help to prevent commies take- over of our congress.

South Africa
eSouth Africa has always had good relations with the eUS. Although we are neutral, we see where we can help and support your country. eSouth Africa currently has quite a few American expats, and also quite a few RL American players. Due to that, there will always be a positive attitude towards the eUSA. On the other hand, due to the diplomatic path that we have taken to liberate our regions, we will unfortunately not be able to enter into any direct alliance with the eUS, as this would be seen as an aggression towards our neighbours (eBrazil and eIndonesia).

Switzerland
What do we think about the US? Well, for the moment the rare contacts I have had with your officials and your citizens have all been excellent. Your officials have been most helpful and understanding. Unfortunately we have not had long term contact so it is difficult for me to say anymore.

Turkey
Well, first of all I can say that we are not thinking good about you. Right now we are enemies because we are in different alliances and there are several issues, etc... but there is one important reason. You got involved in our eGreece war and spent thousands of golds(5k golds) for cg(Central Greece) in RWs. Because of this, we will always help our allies until the end. If you want to change this, you have to work hard. We are open to everything!

United Kingdom
I think if you took your question to the general section of our forums and pitched it too the public, you'd get something you could use. 😃
BEWARE! There would be trolls and flamers. 😒

Uruguay
I'm not getting the point of the question.
