It’s been a mostly quiet couple of days, though there are a few things I need to bring to your attention today.
As I said last time, I’m going to steal somebody else’s style for these announcements, simply because I’ve always thought it’s the most simple and easy to understand; so thanks to Addy Lawrence for this!
ON THE NHS
Did you know, oh young players, that you can receive free health every day, courtesy of the NHS? Simply send a private message to Blue and Evil and he’ll sign you up! If you want more info on it and how it works, he’s your port of call.

ON THE EUK MILITARY
Today the government is delighted to announce that the eUK has a new official military. As of today, the BEF is formally disbanded and replaced by The Legion.
Carlini8, my MoF and longtime commander of The Legion, has written THIS ARTICLE explaining what is going on, so please read that for the major details on what’s going on.
I’d like to explain briefly why the government has decided to adopt the Legion as our new military, and indeed what the implications are- how it will be different with government backing.
First of all: The government will not be spending a penny of the tax money on supplies. We will continue to run whole-UK strikes and supply every UK citizen that turns up, but we won’t be spending anything on supplying legion soldiers. They already have the company base to do this themselves.
What the government will do is advertise and promote The Legion, in the new players welcome message, in MoD articles, and on the forums, as the national military, and generally a pretty cool MU.
For its part, The Legion will remain non-partisan, and will follow MoD orders to the letter- though the MoD will not have overall control of legion; their own commanders will maintain their roles. This can only be a good thing as it prevents successive governments from enacting reforms of the like that pretty much destroyed our previous national military.
The Legion will replace the BEF in its entirety, and can be seen as a kind of clean slate for the UK military. As for the BEF, its members were contacted during the last week and offered the chance to sign up with Legion, some have accepted, others haven’t. We won’t force anyone to move over if they don’t want to, and naturally this change will require some getting used to.
For now though one thing is clear: The UK once again has a large, sustainable, self-sufficient and inclusive national military unit! I for one am excited for the future and for the possibilities this brings!
ON CABINET…
Cabinet is impressing me more with each day. I really couldn’t ask for a better team this month! The frontline ministers are doing their jobs very well, and the others are working behind the scenes in many different ways; Blue and Evil is continuing to work with congress and has been on top of every proposal I’ve seen. Kravenn is a total machine at contacting foreign governments when needed, Beta is some sort of PM / Article android… Everyone has impressed me this month.
The MoD would like me to thank ALL UK CITIZENS that attended Wednesday’s strike, and I can confirm that more of these will be happening soon- unless otherwise stated the next one will be on Tuesday at 8pm BST (14:00 erep time) on the #MoD channel. MU leaders, make sure you’re informing your troops when these are so they can come and receive the free weapons, and partake of our great military community!
I’m also pleased to announce that Emergy Maxfell has graciously donated some Q6 weapons to us for use in ‘A Call to Arms,’ so make sure you follow the instructions on the MoD article to claim your free weapons!
ON THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH
Ayame has got the ministry up and running nicely and pledges are coming in! Please contact him for more information. If you’re a new player that needs some financial help, or an old player looking to make a difference, this is one for you!They now have their loans / grants up and running so do spread the word on that!

ON WAR
I said this a couple of days ago but it’s worth repeating now.
Nobody has complained about a lack of war yet, but to pre-empt anything along those lines, I’d like to inform you all that we have two options for training wars on the table. Neither of which will go ahead until after the congress elections on the 25th, in order to provide the least amount of disruption possible to all parties in both countries that will be involved. After this point, we’ll decide on one option for the TW (congress will in fact be informed of the choices beforehand so they can exercise their democratic right and choose which one to pursue.)
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know this has been considered and plans are in place to let us have some fun.

We have at least 3 MUs which are semi linked to a party but membership is not required, why does Legion get the free advertising and not the others? Can't you advertise/make official all of them?
You can make it as neutral sounding as you like but you are still directing players to a MU primarily full of ESO players, which WILL boost their membership. I don't see what they are doing special to deserve it?
You haven't actually DONE anything Talon, we don't have anything extra than what we had before. Everything is the same except now ESO Legion gets free advertising and players sent to them and you get to say that you did something (but you haven't)..
Why?
List of reasons about what Legion has over Royal Navy or Bulldogs or what they are doing differently.
Good work, but I don't get it, why is there a need for an 'official' MU at all? Whatever that means. Competition between MU's is a good thing and promotes self reliance in an age when the gov has no money. Giving Legion an advantage with gov promotion is an odd move backwards that will no doubt fuel the tin foil hat brigade.

The national army should stay in the hands of the government not a private MU, plus the government of the the day should be able to appoint there own staff in the national army and all members of a national army should be on same supplies.
Any government should have 100% control of it's army, I would say these are worrying time's with the decision's you are making, I would have though changing the National Army would require a National debate ?
New Era will be making a official response to this in the morning.
Isn't an 'official MU' just as much RP as an 'official response' Don? Or are you trying to distance yourselves from Goku?
What does The Legion offer that is different?
You can claim we are ESO Legion all you like Goku, the fact is, we are not. Of course you are going to call us ESO Legion all of the time because that is what you do. You focus in on a point, in this case something you know not to be true - I have told you over and over, and then you try to hammer it home to gain you some fans in the eUK. I like what you bring to the country, viva la revolution and all that, but in this case you are very wrong.
Roughtly a day ago, before any of this was announced someone asked in the feed which political party he should join. What answer would he get in a party called TUP Family? What would the Royal Navy have told him? We all know what the Bulldogs would have said. What was the response he got from The Legion? (Might I add, the Legion membership, not command). He was told to message the PPs of parties in the eUK and see which one he likes. The fact is we are the only neutral MU in the country..
... with the supply base built up able to support a large member base. Everyone was for a national army - I have read lots of things parties are supposedly for. We can't afford one and a free solution comes up and people moan?
As for The Legion supplies I do not know if people simply do not understand them or if they just are flaming because of how the eUK is right now. EVERYONE has the same opportunity. Age has nothing to do with it. We ask for activity, not age, strength or what not.
Everyone has the same opportunity to get experience everyday. We all get 24 hours of energy. If people use that energy, they get better supplies. Asking people to press a single button to work every day does not make them active. We ask them to use up more of their energy, prove they are playing this game and they get more. It incentives new people. Play more, get more. People who sell their weapons for growth have the exact same opportunity, it isn't hard to fight without the weps.
Also to add to the first point. The Legion is the only MU that I know of that actually owns companies. All other MUs that I know of have players that either run the MU or donate their WRM/Factories. The Legion has an extensive amount of companies built on players from Legion funds. The Legion comes with many assets and these can be used to promote growth for the future.
And quite frankly I am bored of writing about 5 words and then having to stop and send my message. This right here is why big things need to be discussed on an off game platform, at least until this game gets better communication methods.
RN doesn't have enough slots to fit in the entire (fighting part) of the nation as Legion seems to have.
RN is primarily an ATO force for UKPP so is intrinsically linked to a party.
RN favours continuity in command so would be unwilling to cede nomination of the commander position to a government (altho Legion have avoided this by making it clear the elected head of the nation has no say on this)
As I told you last night Alfa, they have a say, however they do not get to force internal changes on us.
RN operates a flat supply rate for in-game users with add-ons for those that choose to take them in IRC (it is grounded in in-game play) and other minor points as well.
What Legion has that RN don't = More spaces, a declaration of being apolitical (whatever form that takes!) and a desire to be the new national MU/JCS.
However, If legion aren't taking tax dollars and aren't looking for cross-party legitimisation via in-game laws then they are free to call themselves what they like and have the support of CP, TUP, Congress, Party 'X' or any other group that declares for them.

It looks like a private public partnership that is promising for UK. No tax money involved, following orders of the government and enough place for all that want to join.
Whomever may be CP/government can change this agreement. UK Congress could make a stand on this issue if needed. I think there are no problems, but we will see.

The government wont control the National Army you just said it there !
They do control the National Army. They tell us where to fight and we have to follow it regardless. That is about 75% of the commander role. 100% if commanders delegate to others.
It is my firm opinion that the government have a responsibility to give the country a non politically aligned MU. There is no way to afford your average National Military unit anymore, this is a compromise the CP has decided to take. If the next CP wants to end this, then so be it.
I really, really don't get this. You just put a "neutral, official government" sticker on ESO Legion. That is it.
We don't have a better military, we have the same one as before called something different.
I wasn't sure about RN but Bulldogs certaintly does not require New Era membership.

TUP family should be the National Army, and founded by the government, specially 12th division. That's my opinion. We can't pay a National Army, we need to keep 40 Million pounds, so that we are invaded by French, we can pay Polish national army their damage.

In terms of telling people what is happening, it was done very suddenly. Discussing it in private for a long time does not count because obviously nobody else can see it!?

If my memory serves me correct ESO Legion was the first party MU....?
Scrap the name Legion, it is too linked to ESO Legion and will never be able to shake off the party MU tag. This is a massive oversight from leadership imo.
Waynekerr, on the contrary, you understimates the ability of ESO to bow their heads at their TUP masters. Only BigAnt was the genuine adversary... It's incredible how many ESO guys play the game TUP wants. Legion will become the national military at no cost... except for ESO that will be left WITHOUT any MU, and its support. Think about Bulldogs, RN or TUP family or even People's Army, an MU gives lots of votes, support, a full experience (supplies)... ESO is LOSING that support.
Of the three MUs on top of The Famigilia, TUP has been able to disband or weaken two: NHS and BEF,
and the third one has lost much of their meaning. ESO strategists are so good that they could play a full time Polo game.

You also said TUP wanted BEF destroyed so TUP Family could become the strongest MU. The government is advertising the Legion now as national MU. I like that, I do not care whether TUP Family is on top.
I like that UK is improving.
Hopefully this works to the benefit of the UK as a whole.

I think ESO does not care if they will weaken from this as long as the nation will improve. Their priority is UK.
For me it is like that. I never put priority on TUP nor TUP Family. UK is the priority. Only problem will be when my fun will be destroyed, then I prioritise myself because i can only be active when i have fun.
I do hope that is for all parties and persons.
