[USWP] Sacrifice

Day 4,679, 05:28 Published in USA USA by Kevin Sheridan

Hello eUS and welcome to the second article in the USWPride Legacy mini-series. As one of the eUS's oldest and paramount of parties, the history of the USWP is closely intertwined with the destiny of this e-nation. This series explores its legacy, while also focusing on the players which made and still make it tick. Today we'll focus on a special guest: Stormin.

Last article we explored one of USWP's highpoints in early 2011. Let's go back one year to April 2010 and a more challenging period : the USWP had recently lost the #1 position and eUS politics are in turmoil....

The Democratic Republicans were just PTOd by PEACE/Hungarians, The Republican party was PTOd by Ajay/Pizza the Hut and the AAP, which was the #1 party at the time, was PTOd by S.E.E.S, a movement inspired by Emerick with a very aggressive playstyle.

Those were chaotic times, Congress authorized the creation of a "Federal Election Coordination" agency under Rod Damon to combat the rising threat of PTOs and various political leaders tried to think of ways to stabilize the political system.

In April 2010, Stormin served as Chief of Staff to legendary USWP PP Max McFarland II. McFarland managed to bring about a merger of USWP, AAP and the DR, 3 top political parties, into a grand coalition party: the American Progressive Front.

The PTO threat was huge. We realized that the USWP had so many inactive players that weren't voting. This was the case for 3 major parties. We figured if we merged we could create the APF with 3 parties of active players making it the single largest party with all active players.

This wasn't an easy choice to make, but the USWP already had a history of sacrificing short term political gains for the greater US good. USWP was one of the first parties to screen congressional candidates and was known to throw away Congressional seats if votes were needed elsewhere to prevent PTOs. But now, the party's brand and identity were to be sacrificed and the actual ingame party was to be handed over to S.E.E.S in order to create a stable two headed system. Some members believed this sacrifice to be unbearable, and left.

Stormin was the engine behind the APF, its architect and first true PP, he brought in the best from the 3 parties to create a greater whole and serve in its joint leadership.

The APF had an intensive but short life, trying to build new institutions while trading blows with S.E.E.S over ATO strategies and fighting foreign and domestic enemies. Internal conflicts caused the young coalition to be dissolved by June.

It was 3 parties merged into one large new one to rival SEES. SEES was on a mission to PTO parties (as an ATO strategy, KS) and we'd seen it happening. Many APF members wanted to do this as well but I always said no. This wasn't what we were about. APF was set up for great success but when I stepped away from the game for 3 weeks I returned to chaos and ruin. The party had imploded, rivals became enemies, and without a leader to keep everyone under control it exploded.

From the ashes of the APF the USWP was reborn, leveraging the renaissance narrative to bring back old members and to launch itself to a new and successful era.

The APF was ultimately unsuccessful but it demonstrates a recurring theme in USWP history. The USWP always played a pivotal role in keeping the eUS political system safe and stable: sacrificing energy, political gains and even its identity and brand, whatever it took...winning it for America always was and always will come first..
