From the archives of eCanada part 10 : A World in Flames and a major Heist.

The following article is dedicated to the month of May and June 2010. It will mainly cover Operation WIF (World In Flames), the presidency during these months, and finally the downfall and exposure of Ironman.



As the world plunged into another war, the fire would lit and the world would burn, a World in Flames. This was a very special campaign as we would try to wipe Hungary from the face of the world. This war was one of the tipping point in which Serbia surpassed Hungary as the uncontested military leader of Phoenix. The campaign itself was mainly focussed around a push from Romania, Croatia and Poland, and several other fronts as diversions. Greece was having it again with Turkey, China was pinning down Hungary in it's last colony of Asia, the famed region of Heilongjiang (not even sure it's the right name even today), also referred as Hello Kitty. Canada was doing it's share as well in draining damage by attacking France. I would also like you to take a peak at Avec's article surrounding WIF, as he was the thinker behind this whole grand scheme! I also found a battle list that will help you understand where everyone was fighting during this conflict.



What followed the intial opening of hostilies was victory after victory by the Eden forces agaisnt Phoenix. In a few battles, we saw Hungary being reduced to only 3 region, diminished and impoverish, it was very hard for Hungary to keep up the fight, and after this came a direct blow to the Hungarian power, the very symbol of their might fell. During a night rush right after reset, as the resistance war in Heilonjiang came to a closing, elite troops stormed the wall relentlessly for an entire hour. From a 1,75 Million point wall, in under a short hour, it came all the way down to -500k. The Hungarians had nothing left as they were overtaken powerlessly. This was one of the most explosive attack that I have witnessed in my elife, I still shake a bit thinking about the excitement of seeing this wall crumble down under the might of our elite shock troopers.



The remainder of the war is not glamourous however, as we saw Hungary resisting two assault on Central Hungary, their last bastion. After these two battle, Hungarians and their allies fought fiercely to push back the invader out of their borders. This ended in a standstill and both agreesors and defenders agreed to sign a peace treaty following this comeback.

Politicly, May was a disaster so to speak of, Nea Milosu had been elected Prime Minister with a nice amount of money at his disposal amassed by predecessor Chucky Norris and Derek Harland (2000 gold). The main problem of this month weren't the election of Nea Milosu itself that were the problem, it's the fact that due to personnal issue in real life, Nea had to abandon the presidency for most of the month. He also made inacessible the gold reserve that was stocked, as he was the only one who knew the password. However, we recovered that gold when Nea came out of his slump, just after Rolo liquidated the MoI and seized most of the Gov funds. But that is for another story.



During Nea's leave, Saradroz took care of the administration as she was the VP, she did a pretty good job given the circumstance surrounding her job.

May was also a month of great loss, as we came to lose two great Canadians in Tyler F Durden and Marius Corleone. Both contributed to several part of Canada in many ways, One was an accomplished politicians while the other was a soldier at heart. I wrote a while ago Marius Corleone service record, feel free to take a peak at it. Tyler F Durden really was someone who could inspire many, as many erep players went to his funerals, a true testimony to what impact this man had on many players.

The month of june is pretty uneventfull in the military aspect, for this very reason, we will move on to the political side of the thing, as it was quite eventfull in the Drama department. It was yet again a DAL candidate that was able to seize the highest seat of power in the Country, this candidate being Dade Pendwyn. Dade was also the last President before V2. Dade leadership and government was steady and efficient. He managed also to hold the ship steady as we made the transition to V2.

However, most of the problem encountered during his presidency came from the eCan Forum admin (Ironman) who intercepted PM containing the Ministry of defence organisation password. With these in hand, he looted the entire assets in the org which amounted to about 15 000 CAD, This may seem like a ridiculous sums today, as it would amount merely 15 gold, but back then, when the exchange rate was at 1 gold= 33 CAD, it was something quite different. At the time, Ironman used to be an Eden military advisor, his fall from glory was quick, and soon was blacklisted in every Military Unit of our allies. I sent quite a few PM after this event, he was promptly removed from Eden just as quickly as well.

From that point, we saw a bitter Ironman, who felt completely entitled to these goods, distributing weapon to English soldiers and tanking hard for them. He made everything to make sure he would get as much attention as he could, a true Attention wh*re. When everyone ignored him continuously, he did quit, and everything would be able to proceed as normal again.
