*Previous Part at the end of the article*

Disclaimer: First off I would like to state that this article is VERY personal in it's nature. Mainly because I was the president during the month of March and the Front figure for the LSR movement. I will not claim to not be biased during this episode, but since I'm doing the series, I had to go throught this part of our history that still had some consequence up until very recently. It was however, the hardest episode to writte from my personal perspective.

This article will cover up the Month of March and April 2010. In which I've been the president (CPP) and Derek Harland (DAL) was the president of april.

Back in early March, I was lined up against a formidable electoral machine in the DAL-CPF alliance. This alliance which had proven to be successfull one month earlier with the election of Jbdivinus was in a good spot for the month of March. Nea Milosu would be the one aiming at the leadership of the country on behalf of the coalition. He had notoriety amongst the political crowd of the country, on top of the support of the two biggest party in the country at the time.

Yet, there was hope on the horizon, last month chamrajnagar had almost bested this coalition by the use of mass PMing and carefully getting endorsement. It was my intention to follow in his step, and be successfull in this endeavor.

With the help of a few party like CSD, UN, CPP and CNC, a good team of election planner that did a lot of Mass PMing, I was successfull in beating Nea milosu for the CP race. Another key factor in my win was my natural ability to win the Francophone vote and the Military vote due to my long career in the CAF.It was somewhat something special as I became the first Francophone president to be elected in eCanada after 2 years of existence.

During my terms came some interesting reforms, scandals, a world economic crisis and some failure to deliver on my key promess, babyboom.

This time could have been portrayed as the great depression, since we had a period of great stability in the World after months of war. It wasn't only Canada, the entire world was relatively calm and almost no significant battles erupted during that time, if not for the many ressistance war and mobile expedition. This in mind, the gold was losing value and we had to keep it up, and to help it, pay for the war bonds of Prime minister Jbdivinus contracted during the previous series of war.

At first, I had selected Jacobi to be my MoF and Addy his dMoF, but he quickly resigned after his proposal to kill Grandma was met with resistance. It is to be noted that I did gave jacobi the go to approach congress and talk about it. I had no idea it would turn out into something that would be remembered as Grain gate. This brought me a few ennemies right from the start, namely CitizenB who later worked hard (behind the scene) to have me impeach. Speaking of impeachement, Famous lulz impeacher Spencer Magee launched a surprise impeach right at T-2h from the congress swap. Hoping to have it more successfull, it did however fail later on. This was mainly motivated by the SdC case coming to fruitition, you can read more about it here: [url=http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/presidential-address-n-7-us-bonds-sdc-1265194/1/20[/url]. I must admit, we did kinda shortcut some procedure with me sitting at some audience, but heck, I was invited by the attorney general. Bottom line, I did some Role play errors in this case.

Back to the finance, what would unfold was the not very attractive but very needed Beige agenda by MoF Addy Lawrence. With carefully planning, he managed to put aside 1000 gold for a strategic Reserve that would serve us in times of need. It was a pretty amazing feat considering the global crash. Addy did a fantastic job in his function during this month.

In the World events, there was very few war, and what happens when there is a lack of war happened. Infighting became more and more frequent between Eden Members during this month. A few country including Canada tried to bring together the various party at the table, which was mostly always some infighting between Poland and the US. Some of the problem originated from a battle in Sindh, where the US Army was sent to RW a region from serbia. Thing is, the damage would have been better used in Croatian-slovenian battle, which would make it impossible for Croatia to cross over the US to get into Asia (one hell of a long ride). This being said, it is to be known that the US CJCS didn't had access to the battle list priority. A lot can be blamed on communication that were an issue rather than actual malicious intention. After this a joint statement was issued. However, there was a lot more problem than just a battle. We could see certain Eden officials purposedly flaming US rep. This all contributed to the event that came after, the withdrawal of the United States from EDEN. I must admit that It was hard for me, afterall, we would be the only non european country left in Eden after this.

I must admit that I did fail to deliver on my key promess, Babyboom. I had hoped that we could rally a Tweet-facebook-social network push to gather up newcomers. This was met with little success I must admit. Mainly because we lacked direction and dedication to ensure we would succeed.

One of the lulzy part of my mandate, was Temujinbc transfering 4325 CAD to citizens from the National Defence org. Donations included 666 CAD to pimpdollaz, 0.69 CAD to Scorpius and several others to Saltydogs, Acacia Mason and Craig Normans. I jumped the gun quite a lot on this one since he did it just to piss me off at 11:55 of the mandate turn over. But heck, it's temujinbc. Can't change a guy afterall. After this happening, almost all of the money was donated back but temujinbc was sentenced a forum ban by the supreme court. A Massive FREE TEMUJINBC movement emerged that would spam the media with a continuous flow for several months after. Lulz was indeed strong at this time.

This is for the month of March, sorry for making it this long, but I had so much to talk about, it was hard to skip any.

As for the Month of April, it was the month where the DAL-CPF coaliton renewed with success once more at the CP race. And Derek Harland was our new president. I must admit, I had high hopes of seeing this government doing some good stuff. I did not ran this month because I wanted to give Derek a good shot at it. I was not aware however, that Derek had almost no spine and would become a puppet of Ironman. My words may sound quite harsh, but he was in fact not willing to face anyone in congress or within his own administration, in fear of conflicts. So Ironman did made all the calls that month regarding Defence and a few Foreign affair matters. He was the one that led Derek to an attack on France that would serve nothing but activate MPP. A failed attempt at Training war that would only result in us losing every single attack attempts. The month was rather quite uneventfull in the military department, save for the fact we would go into operation WIF (world in flames) near the end of the month. However I will speak about this only in another article since it would take a separate episode of it's own.

Much like the military front, the political front was looking to be rather quiet this month. Near the end of the month we started to see the cracks in the CPF-DAL alliance, but they only appeareared near the end of the month.

However, one event did happen that marked the foundation of Canada for quite some time. Despite the fact that it was no longer than a week span, people would talk about it even a year later. What happened was the Long Sword Rebellion.

I did say that this article would be biased. Expect this to be my own point of view, and I will admit, it might be less neutral than some of my articles in the serie you are currently reading.

What is currently referred now today as the LSR was generally started as a wake-up call to the political class that the Military would no longer tolerate to be treated with disrespect, as we had to respect them in return based out of the Code of Conduct. It is to be noted that at the time, the CAF and Congress were in constant battles and there wasn't a day without conflicts. This lead to a counter productive scene where people would oppose each other just out of principle and affiliation. The solution to this problem according to some of us (CAF HQ and several CAF soldiers) seemed to be a little show that would prove that we could walk the talk. A little poker move if you will.

And on the 21st of April, Avatar's blazing, At the very least 100 people showed up to show their support to this little rebellion wearing avatar of LSR. And a day later, we would warn them of our intention in a declaration of intent.

The Long Swords Rebellion was probably one of the biggest events that shaped Canada after the WWIII invasion. While its public intentions were known from the start, only a select few knew of the rebellions actual motives; To stop the mistreatment and abuse of the CAF by congress, and to force a stagnant political atmosphere to change to accommodate a different people. The only way to do this was Shock and Awe, a method that dealt alot of damage before Rolo managed to sterilize the population of any sort of fear. Had the CAF and Chucky Norris actually pushed through with its takeover of congress, who knows what could have happened?

Of course, it was a bluff, as we had no intention of ever PTOing Canada. Before we proceded we informed the CP, the Speaker, the court and even the forum administrator that it would be so. Just a little muscle show to tell congress we meant business. This did lead to a major shit storm however. Several citizens rose to the occassion to address how the rebellion was wrong since it was using the Army to reach it's goal. It was oftenly said that we were violating the Code of conduct and that we would never achieve anything. And there was dissagreement within the CAF, a lot of those left the CAF after.

The LSR was an interesting time in eCanada. We were in a weird place, and headed down a dark path. Some people thought the best way out of it was to give the country a wake up call, and decided to use the CAF as the alarm that did it. While well intentioned and meant as a warning shot across the bow of the nation there was a small minority within the CAF's ranks that didn't agree. We put our faith on the "Code of Conduct" and everything it stood for. So we did the only thing we could, we dug in our heels, called out the people in charge and hoped for the best. Not only for the CAF but for the country as a whole.

On the 24th, we delievered our message to the political class. I must admit that I did lose some friends on this day, some who felt I had overstepped my authority and used the army for a personal goal. This event is of the past now. And as the Front figure of the rebellion (not the leader however, as there was several figure heads), I did was court marshalled along with Marius Corleone and Rammer Schumacher. We all got taken off the High Command and our ranks we're downgraded. I can say this was a hard, being with the team for so long. But it was the right thing to do. I also lost my job as the Minister of Defence.

In the Aftermath, the CAF had alienated certain individuals, some had been courtmarshalled and some members left in protest. I think some respect got out from this, as in the months after people seemed to be working more together. As several have said in the past, A world at peace, there had to be sacrifice.

If I was to change anything however, I would never have used the CAF forum to organise this (sent 2-3 pm telling folks to put an avatar). I would have done this ''à la #secretz'' and it would probably have fallen better. Especially if we would have just said that we were a bunch of citizens rising in protest. This is all of the past now, but I think that in the end, it did happen for a reason, and we all grew out of this one way or another.

I hope it wasn't too biased and I thank you all for taking the time to read this yet again long piece on the history of Canada.
