Introducing Knight News: World in Flames - 5th edition
Hello everyone. I've been playing eRepublik for some time, and I've finally decided to get down and write myself a newspaper that I hope you all find useful. One of my favorite features things about eRepublik is battles and trying to figure out the underlying strategy involved by EDEN, Phoenix, and the presidents of each individual country. I think I've gained enough experience to actually be able to share my analysis without getting laughed at
Despite my affiliations, I try my best to keep my analysis as neutral and unbiased as I can.
I've spoken briefly with Mainegreen, and he's given me permission to use his symbol list. I figure it makes the maps a little easier to look at to know what's going on. Here's the symbol map
Karnataka
With few interesting fights today, a lot of discussion is still dominated with the Indian request to return Karnataka. Important Battles of Day 920-921
China attacks Luzon, Indonesia and Henan, Russia, RW in Chongqing, Jiangxi

Just before server reset China launched an attack on Luzon, Philippine territory currently occupied by Indonesia. The wall for this battle has remained relatively steady between -250k and -300k for the last 12 hours. If successful, it is likely China will continue to try and reclaim Philippine territory. The Philippines were recently wiped off of the map a few days ago, canceling their war with Malaysia and halting the SOL war games. This, coupled with a Serbian PTO of their congress will likely keep the a new war from being declared. It also will keep the EDEN friendly nation from serving as the “middle man” in land swaps between the USA and China, forcing them to find another 3rd party or canceling their MPP if the USA is to make another attempt at Liaoning. This is especially true since China, and not the USA is attacking Henan. China, backed by 10 MPPs from the top nations in the EDEN circle will undoubtedly conquer the region. An attack from USA occupied Chongqing would have been less likely to succeed, but with a successful attack on Henan and then Shandong the USA would have been within reaching distance of Liaoning.

Serbia is returning Balochistan to Pakistani control, reducing their Asian presence to their fortress of Liaoning and an outpost at Sindh. On a badly related note it seems Max McFarland 2 changes citizenship like I change underwear, switching from USA to Serbian citizenship during his “vacation in Serbia” and moving on to South African, and single handily making South Africa #4 in damage on the resistance at the time of this publishing. Alas I digress...
India has attacked North-West Frontier Providence. As with the previous Indian attacks, I don't think there is any greater strategy involved other than either as a training war or to help create a “baby boom” between the RL hostile countries. If India does succeed in capturing NWFP, it is highly likely Serbia will counter and take the region from India.
At 20:18 India attacked Punjab, Pakistan. While unlikely without international assistance, it is possible India, if they time things correctly, will wipe out Pakistan. This would prove to be a small headache for Phoenix, because after Serbia returns recaptures and resistance wars the territories back into existence, gold would have to be spent to have war redeclared. It would take more attacks that what can be currently seen, as Balochistan will be returned to Pakistani control before NWFP and Punjab will fall (provided India wins both battles).
A resistance has started in Hesse, Austria

A resistance war has been started in Hesse, surrendered by Germany to Austria a few days ago. I never really figured out what was Austria's and Slovenia's goal in moving through German lands. As they have halted their progress, I still remain clueless.
United Kingdom attacked Nordjylland, Norway
The UK, has attacked Nordjylland (Denmark sovereign), probably in an attempt to stop Poland from getting to Norway's High Oil. Several commentators yesterday have suggested that Sweden and Poland's movements in North Europe yesterday are because Norway has rented out it's High Oil region to Poland, who has no natural High Regions. This honestly makes more sense than anything else I have thought up on my own. However the Swedish attack against Norway was retreated at 07:18, halting any further movement for Poland (if Norway is indeed their goal. If the UK succeed in Nordjylland, they will be able to attack Poland in Bohus and Scania.

North Korea attacked Kangwon, Russia

The Russian/North Korean War has begun again. Russian has chosen good position for the location of a training war, as both Kangwon and Hwangae, the two North Korean regions under Russian control, are both attackable from North or South Korea. This would force an interfering nation in their war games to directly attack North Korea, triggering their MPP with Bulgaria, and it would allow Russia to counter and attack any conquered North Korean territory, as every territory is either wining range of Far East Russia, Hwangae, or Kangwon.

Any fights that occur later this Saturday won't make it into an article of mine until at least Sunday. Believe it or not, I actually have a life out of eRep, as hard as it sounds (even to myself). I blew up the size of Mainegreen's icons, and lowered the resolution of my maps. That should make them readable without clicking them.
I'm also switching image hosting (again) to Pict. Hopefully these images will be viewable throughout China and the world, and uploading is an awfully lot easier for me with no captcha.

Clear arrows and icons all in one! Of course some of the icons are larger than the territories they describe.... Oh well it's probably the most readable maps I've made so far, but as always I will seek out improvement.

@Zheng He. The president of the United States dedicates entire wars to his love. I think putting a love note is a small gesture by comparison.

Austria is going for Poland, so Slovenia can region swap in and attack their new territories (with open MPPs). Could Poland be going to Asia? All that blocks the way is Scotland.
