Keep Calm and Soldier On!
Guest Economics Writer Robert Renolds, eAmerican Bluecoat

Despite doomsday predictions, the economy of eUSA has remained strong. There has been a massive hit to the labor/wage market (65% of previous high) but all other indicators are looking rather good. If you want to see what life was like before here is a great place to look.

Gold is on track to return to pre-OHMYGOD! times, which is about $800 USD. Raw materials are doing well, hovering at $0.20 a piece, but they may continue to rise a few more cents.

The most important factor is the decrease in prices for weapons and food. Below, you can see Q6 and Q5 of weapons and food over the last 13 days, averaged out for a nice smooth curve. I also scaled the graph so that we can take a look at the comparative prices of Food and Weapons, side by side:

The upper two curves are the Q6 Food and Weapons, while the bottom two are Q5 Food and Weapons. Notice how they are trending similarly, and how the Q6's and Q5's are moving together. This indicates that the sale prices are following the economic laws of demand.
When the changes occurred to the economic module, the day to day events were haywire, but the overall price trends show us that everything is going smoothly.

While the drop in prices is not equal to the drop in wages, the good news is that the market has returned to a position where companies (Q5, Q6) can produce at a rate that meets market demand at a price that most people can afford. That is news we can all appreciate.

Bulgaria and Turkey and EDEN, Oh My!

Bulgaria held a very well attended press conference (500+ people) on IRC regarding the state of their relations with EDEN and Turkey, basically declaring that either Turkey goes or Bulgaria goes. RL bad blood runs deep between many Euro nations, they bring that to the game and have difficulty functioning as allies.

The Bavarian Ball Brotkast reports "Bulgaria will remains fully committed to EDEN and neutral to Turkey. There will be another vote in EDEN about the admission of Turkey.
Bulgaria will vote against that admission and wants Turkey first to prove itself (firstly e.g. by handing over unneeded Iranian regions)."

This article includes a transcript of the Bulgarian Press Conference.

Watch The World Burn also reports similarly, with a tight recap of the meeting and Q&A's which followed.
